What was the one angle the WWE screwed up?
Precious Roy replied to iliketurtles's topic in The WWE Folder
Honestly, I'd never even considered that angle before, and I'd say the fact that Benoit had nuclear heat after winning the title says that 99% of the audience wasn't looking at it like that. Look, was Benoit jumping to RAW the best possible booking? Of course not, but when do we ever get the best possible booking out of the E? Arguing about how an angle that in reality turned out very well could have turned out more well is an exercise in futility, especially when there are far more serious and damaging screw ups to bitch about. Chris Benoit came out of things fine, in better shape than he went in. The ends of that program, a ***** Wrestlemania main event and Chris Benoit being the most over he's *ever* been, over with the entire audience, certainly justify the means. He's *still* hugely over and could carry the belt at any time, the angle with Edge proved that. Now, after Backlash his title reign got fucked up royally, but that's a seperate issue. -
Other than Wrestlemania XX which I will never condone and was a direct response "fuck you" you to the fans, was Brock ever not giving his all or not performing with intensity? Were there guys you could point to and say, "he works harder than Brock, Brock is lazy."? It seems to me that he's a guy who, whatever he's doing, will give 100%. Yeah, his heart wasn't in it and he left, but I tend to believe that if he comes back he'll give his all in the ring, because he's a competitor and it's the only way he knows.

pitchers figured him out. Doesn't walk and K's a ton.

Carrie Fisher's most memorable role was in Blues Brothers IMO, but yeah, she was totally typecasted from SW

Jim Morrison? Working at an airport? LMAO

Probably around 6 or 7 I gave up all disbelief, though my parents continued the charade until I was 13 or so *shakes head at how stupid parents can be*

DeNiro's been phoning it in lately though, you've gotta admit it. DeNiro playing DeNiro is still more believeable than most performances, but he hasn't really delivered anything classic in a while. I'd honestly say Analyze This might be the most he's stretched in recent memory, and even then he was parodying himself.

huh?

Chris Elliott has always been a cult performer, Cabin Boy never had a chance at landing him a leading man movie career because it was only meant to appeal to his cult fans, his cult fans were the only reason that movie was even made. His most popular role (Something About Mary) came several years after Cabin Boy. And seriously, anyone who hates Cabin Boy is retarded

I don't have a problem with Vick making it, even with the sketchy stats, because his team wins games, and not many QB's in the NFC can say that. Favre does *not* deserve the nod over him, he's played pretty shitty this year.

If Kobe were smart he'd just shut the fuck up and stay out of the media

Cannonball Run II?

He didn't have a film career before Leonard because he'd never ventured into the medium, he was a headline standup and then crossed into TV, but he might have had a decent film career if Leonard hadn't been such a bomb

If they make it, I'd keep him out of the game if I were Philly, I don't think any good can come of it. Even if he's an incredibly fast healer he's still going to be weak in that area and rusty overall.

I've never watched a pro bowl, and I've been watching the NFL regularly for almost 15 years now. It's just an excuse to give the guys a trip to Hawaii, the announcers don't even treat the game seriously

I think it's time to fire Lenny Wilkens....

I would have liked to keep El Duque out of sentimental reasons, but his "dead arm" near the end of last year was not a good sign, especially considering that he didn't even pitch half the year in the bigs for us, and there's *still* a mystery over how old he really is..... I love the guy, and I have a ton of respect for what he can do in a Yankees uniform, but I think he's a huge bust for the White Sox, just like he was for Montreal.

Brady finally makes the pro bowl and he's not even having his best season, figures.....

Fuck, ANYWHERE BUT BOSTON I said, isn't anyone listening?

I'm a Knicks fan, and I care.....

LA was NOT doing bad in the deal. They got rid of Ishii, who is a complete bum, they got two very promising prospects, they got rid of Green's contract, and they would have gotten Konerko from Chicago, who is a better and cheaper hitter than Green, plus the underrated Jon Garland, who'd probably thrive for them. The reason it fell through was Chicago opting out of moving Konerko, not LA suddenly deciding they were getting the short end.

Eddie never lost to him.

Johnson has already refused to go to LA, so no, they couldn't do it themselves. And now I'm hearing Shawn Green is demanding a trade, apparently pissed that they were set to move him. This trade is still going to happen in some form, that I'm sure of, but there's going to be some tense moments for the people involved.

As someone who doesn't give two shits about college football as a direct result of the retarded ranking systems I can say that the only thing that could make me a consumer is a proper playoff system where a team earns the championship by beating other top teams in a do or die setting and not due to poll positioning and computer formula. Take that for what it's worth, but I know a lot of other sports fans feel the same way.
