EDIT* nevermind It would be a travesty if Grant Hill isn't voted in at the 3, that's a guy who actually deserves it. Thankfully the voting is close enough and it's far enough away that I still have hope. But really, anyone is better than Carter.

Ishii won't make the rotation, and if he does, he won't last long. The guy is brutal, with a WHIP that hovers around 1.5. New York obviously has no interest in the guy, he's just a throw in for money reasons. I'd say he's the far more likely MR candidate over Brown. I like this deal, obviously I'm thrilled to have Randy Johnson as our #1 starter, but it will be bittersweet if we don't win it all before Unit retires and Duncan and Navarro pan out. And the idea of Unit without his 'stache is frightening

No fucking way "the fans" vote in Carter again this year. They can't be that stupid, can they?

wow.......didn't see that coming I kind of feel bad for the guy, I don't like him, but I feel empathy. He looked so uncomfortable, was so evasive, so depressed, but you could tell he wanted people to read between the lines of his rhetoric, like he just wanted to open up and admit what a cunt he's been, repent for his sins, but because of his status he can't, and as much of a dick as he's been that's gotta be a really tough thing to reconcile. What I gathered from it is he knows he overreacted about the Malone/Vanessa shit, knows he looks like the bad guy in the situation, knows he was a dick to Shaq and Phil, knows he's incredibly selfish, but he's almost in denial about all of it, trying to convince himself that the results and perception aren't equal to his own processes. He wouldn't admit to running them out of town of course, but what he doesn't say tells the whole story, the way he frames his words. It's the classic political trick of admission of guilt through delivery and body language, pauses, sighs, while stating nothing verbally that can be pinned on him. The one thing he did admit to, not saying it explicitly of course, was that he wanted to take on the challenge of winning in LA without Shaq, which of course was selfish, but it's like he's trying to convince himself that he was justified, that he has a god given right to be in his position, no matter who he hurts on the way, even though he knows what he did was unfair to them. Still a cunt, but a complex cunt, and I feel bad for the fact that he's such a cunt and there seems like there's nothing he can do about, even when he knows he's a cunt. ton of credit to Tony and Mike though, they asked him the tough questions and they pressed him as much as they could. That had to be a tough interview to conduct.

I don't think Boone is done yet. He had a horrific first half least year and a down year overall, but he can still hit, and with protection he'll be dangerous.

Pedro was hilarious on Mike and the Mad Dog today! As a Yankees fan I've gotta say I'm glad he's in New York, because he's entertaining as hell, and win or lose he's bringing a lot of excitement to the city.

TNA News and Notes from 12/13 WO
Precious Roy replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in TNA Wrestling
That's the first time I'd heard that. WHY would they put over Savage when they KNEW he wouldn't return the job? I mean, to have not proposed the idea is bad enough, but come on, thats inexcusable! Thanks for posting HTQ -
From Rotoworld. Pretty interesting, I didn't think Seattle would be a major player but here they've got Sexson and it seems like they've got a good chance to get Beltre. Put those two and Boone behind Ichiro and they should be scoring a LOT runs, and they usually put together a decent staff. They could be a legit contender in the West with a couple tweaks here and there. Pedro is oficially a Met, the press conference just went down. He criticized the Sox for not locking him up with an extension and waiting til the last minute, says he gave them every chance to keep him in Boston for the rest of his career but they wouldn't pull the trigger. Couple other interesting bits: I think it's pretty telling that Arizona keeps reinitiating the Johnson talks with New York, and it's looking more and more like this deal will get done as soon as they get desperate enough to lower their demands, Cashman just needs to wait them out a little bit. My guess is they only signed Glaus and Ortiz because they were confident they could get Johnson off the books and get a significant ammount of cash in the deal.

Did it have horns?

They've essentially traded Cabrera for Renteria, as it's 99% that Cabrera goes to STL

Haas has the best chance to be a future headliner, and he's still "young" career wise. London and Akio could be big, but will they ever get a chance? I've been hearing this "future world champion" shit about Dupree since day one and I just don't see it. I don't see anything that makes him stand out and his performance in the ring is underwhelming. Fuck Renee Dupree.

Yeah, but you'd think actually having a coach who can bring you to the playoffs and win somwhat meaningful games would = more cash for the owner = makes up for higher paid coach If they keep him on to "save money" it's a fucking disgrace, and retarded to boot.
-
It has. Some of these guys are ready to proclaim him the second coming, and he hasn't even played in the playoffs yet. A lot of commentators are going to look stupid when Indy beats them in their first playoff game.
-
Just wondering, what happens to the Nationals players if they actually get contracted? Obviously there would be a suplemental draft of some sort, but what about the guys like Guzman and Castilla that they just signed to big contracts? Would those deals be binding?
-
Cintron was AWFUL last year. I drafted him on my fantasy team after he put up a good 2nd half in 03. I had to drop him early, but I kept tabs on him hoping he'd get on a roll and he never did. That said, I'd still take him over Royce Clayton.

Wilbon, "we didn't hear the words, but we heard it..." exactly.

It was your standard * match, albeit a 15 minute one, but there were SO many factors conspiring against it that it deserves all the hate it gets.

Well, the Mets painted themselves into a corner trading top prospects to get Benson at the trade deadline last year, they HAD to resign him to save face for that shortsighted deal, so he had their balls to the wall on the contract. Not to mention that they traded top prospect Scott Kazmir to Tampa for Zambrano, which was tied to the whole Benson thing in a futile push for the playoffs. Quite the unexpected domino effect those trades set off.

Rebel Yell?

An athlete can get away with smoking in moderation as long as you stay fit cardio wise, in small doses it's not going to hurt your stamina. I can't see it effecting anyone's workrate unless they smoke a pack + a day and slack on working out. I'd bet at least half the roster smokes on their rec time, I'd say Edge, Jericho and EDDIE for sure, but I doubt anyone is really a serious, dedicated smoker, though I know Show was rumoured to smoke a pack a day in WCW and the E before he got sent down to OVW.

Scotty's window of opportunity has passed, age and injury have taken away his best attributes, and combined with the attitude era gimmick that is difficult to overcome he really can't compete Val, while still as solid a worker as they come and equipped with a good look/charisma, is also unable to shake his attitude era gimmick Richards really isn't perma-branded with a gimmick that fans can't get past, but WWE has wasted too much time with him

To be fair, Atkins was never Boston's real PG, it was never "his team" in any sense. They traded Mike James for him in the 2nd half and he was nothing more than a stand in/part timer. He's been a solid performer when he's had a defined role on a team, which he never really had in Boston. LA would be a lot better off if they'd got Marcus Banks in the Mihm/Payton deal though, he's a really talented kid and contributes solid minutes off the bench for the Celtics.

Mike Tice is second to only Mike Martz as my most hated coach. I find Vikings games incredibly frustrating because his in-game management is so awful. After yet ANOTHER 2nd half meltdown they HAVE to fire that guy!

nutmeg will fuck you up. you should all go out and drink a lot of this
