I think Moyer is definitely available, he's had an up and down year and he's pretty fuckin' old. If a team like the Mets came calling I bet they'd deal. From the major league roster it's probably Ichiro, Olivio and Soriano, maybe Pineiro.

It happened in Yankee Stadium when a steel beam collapsed (the stadium was empty at the time) and also at the old Seattle stadium when paneling from the dome started falling off.

Dioner Navarro He was actually promoted to Columbus about a month ago and the consensus seems to be that he's a good contact hitter to both sides of the field and good defender who's only weakness is a lack of power, but they said the same thing about Piazza, Posada, Mauer and other young catchers. I wouldn't be surprised if Navarro develops power similar to that of Pudge or Posada as he matures. He's also a switch hitter, with very low K numbers. Because of him and because he'll probably be in the bigs in a year or two I can't put Posada ahead of A-Rod, and I'll be really pissed if we trade this kid for short-term help because Jorge is getting old for a catcher and making a lot of money.

Jeter and Rivera are the no brainers as they are the championship holdovers, the spiritual leaders and face of the franchise. My #3 came down to A-Rod and Posada. I love Posada, and I understand why Yankees fans would deem him untouchable, he IS more of a Yankee than A-Rod at this point, but A-Rod is one of the two best players in the game and tied up for a long time, he's untouchable because of who he is and because I don't think Steinbrenner would trade him. The other thing going for leaving Posada off the list is that one of the Yankees few blue chip prospects is a catcher, I believe in AA right now.

I don't even want Unit in pinstripes. Don't get me wrong, I would cheer for him and everything, but I honestly don't think we need him to win this year, and there is no way in hell I give up Posada or any other everyday player for him. Vazquez is a horse, Contreras has finally got his shit together, Lieber has been solid, El Duque has never had a bad postseason, and they'll have a rested Brown and Moose, plus the bullpen is aces this year. I'm feeling good about our pitching staff as is. (Dream mode on) The Yankees will re-aquire Clemens and Pettite (Dream mode off)

Yankees 1. Jeter 2. Rivera 3. A-Rod

I'd be inclined to keep McNabb as he runs and finally has a dangerous guy to throw to, and I'm also wary about guys like Hasselbeck having career years and then defenses figuring them out. Plus, I like McNabb's matchups better. That said, I think Hasselbeck will have a good year..... Good luck

This is retarded. If homefield in the Series is decided by this game you have to alternate stadiums each year. What the fuck is wrong with Bud?

I don't see what's so bad about RVD being on Velocity. They probably figure he'll be a draw on SpikeTV and he does get a win over Dupree who's in the midst of a modest push. I'm betting RVD will be involved in the US Title picture at SummerSlam, it's not like he's on job duty or anything. And I like the way they handled removing Angle from the GM spot, having him go mad with power and forcing Vince to step in. Guess we can look forward to the return of Stephanie's gargantuan brains......

As of now the 6ers would probably start Iverson at point and McKie/Iguodala at the 2 w/ Iverson doing most of the ballhandling, plus Ollie can handle the point for short stints. That's not a bad guard rotation and Iverson will definitely have the ball in his hands 90% of the time. I'm high on Jim O'Brien as a coach, and I like the frontcourt rotation of Dalembert, Skinner, Kenny Thomas and Coleman. Dalembert and Skinner bang, Thomas boards well and scores and Coleman can play a conservative role of the bench. Dalembert especially has great potential, he put up some monster games last year, just needs to be more consistent. I think this team has the pieces in place to make a run at the 5 or 6 spot in the East, but I also think Glenn Robinson is a major question mark who could make or break them. He didn't fit their team at all last season, he doesn't play the kind of D that O'Brien will want, and it's widely rumoured that he was the guy Iverson singled out last season as quiting on the team and not playing hard enough. I think they're better off moving Glenn Robinson if he's not going to show up every night.

I think he's a pretty good pickup for them actually. Vlade was great in the team game and clubhouse but they couldn't get it done with him in the middle and he's on his way downhill. Ostertag will give them better production on the boards and defense, and Vlade's passing skills aren't a major loss because they still have Webber and Miller who they can run the offense through. Plus they have the luxury of bringing him off the bench and without Shaq to contend with they can play Miller-Webber in crunchtime. I consider it an upgrade for them, and both LA and Sacramento improved here.

I have got to disagree with this one. Sometimes Carter seems like he is trying to fight his typecasting and hoists up lousy shots when he should take it strong to the rim. If I am Carter's coach I tell him to drive first, and shoot second. Average shooters are everywhere in the league. Carter's explosiveness and leaping ability are what set him apart. No, what got him injured was driving first all the time. His best year was when he used the threat of driving to create space for his jumper and then in turn let the threat of his jumper create space for driving. He got away from that the last couple years and became strictly drive first, defenders stopped respecting his jumper and learned how to dictate his drives to him, and he overcompensated resulting in injury. And why does Cleveland need Eric Snow? Jeff McInnis moving to the two? Nick V is a nice pick up for Portland though, he can play the 1 or 2 depending on if he's in with Stoudamire or Anderson. All three of those guys are streaky but great scorers when they're on, so I guess Mo Cheeks will hope for steady play from the frontcourt and just ride the hot hand in the backcourt.

Hmmmm.... Time to lay down some chips on the Wolves.

I was so close to dropping him in May too. Thank god for patience

Kobe is what, 25? Jordan didn't win his first ring until he was 28 or 29. Odom is about the same age as Kobe. I'm not saying that they'll instantly be Jordan/Pippen circa 96, but they're going to have at least the next 6 years contracted to play together and develop as teammates. The potential is there...... You're right about Odom not being the 1-1 defender that Pippen was though, he's not even close, and Kobe hasn't shown the defensive intensity that Jordan had either. But, Odom has the size and quickness to switch between guarding 3's and 4's, rotate on screens, play the passing lanes with his length and play off-ball help D. He's not Scottie Pippen the lockdown defender that you throw on the other team's ballhandler, but he is a valuable contributer on D who will make an impact in the right system. And you know what, he doesn't have to be Pippen on D, because that will be Caron Butler's job.......

...why? Why not? The Knicks are mired in the NBA midcard anyway, Vince Carter is the biggest impact player they'll have a chance to get until Houston's contract expires. Isiah Thomas has already proven that he's not a "build to win" guy, he's a "build for the now" guy. He's not capable of putting together a team that can develop 2-3 years down the line and the NY contract situation (plus the moves he's already made) handcuffs him from doing it even if he had the foresight to pull it off. The best thing for the franchise at this point in time is adding another impact player beside Marbury, by any means necessary. Marbury + Carter = boxoffice and excitement, and since a championship is out of the question anytime soon that's better than a mediocre/boring team that they city can't get behind. Plus, I don't know about you, but I think Carter has some great years ahead of him if he can play to his skill based strengths and stop trying to jump out of the arena. The only reason he's had knee injuries is because he tries to jump over the entire D 20 times a game, when he uses his jumper as his first weapon he's one of the best players in the L.

That's exactly how they should do it. Do two minute rest periods between falls and plan a bunch of shorter than usual breaks with Spike.

Bold (wishful hope) prediction: The match is going on at 9pm because they will actually go to a TWO HOUR overtime!!!!!! B) Anyway...... I haven't been this hyped for a TV match since the Brock-Angle Ironman match and I have VERY high (probably too high) expectations. If Eugene runs in I will be extremely pissed, so by the WWE v. Me laws of booking it's destined to happen

About 45 minutes into that show after the 15 minute rambling HHH clusterfuck interview and the never ending Diva shit I thought to myself, "man, this must be brutal for the live crowd," so it's nice to hear that I was correct Totally agree about announcing the IronMan for next week being a total buzzkill. It's like when they were in Montreal and teased Benoit v. HBK only to announce it for two weeks later in Phoenix, all it did was piss off the crowd. I mean, I understand why they do it from a TV perspective, wanting to hype up these big matches, but it's just a really shitty way to treat the paying customers that you're performing for in the present. I guess it's unavoidable w/ a weekly TV show, but it still sucks, and they probably could have handled the announcement better. Was wondering why Batista was getting loud face pops, didn't realize he was from the DC area.

From what I remember he mosty caught passes out of the backfield and broke them for runs or would make 10-15 yard catches running routes upfield and sometimes break them as well. He did make a lot of big runs off of catches but he wasn't really a prototype combo back, just a guy who did better running outside of the blocks. I don't think he set up as a wideout much if at all. I didn't become a diehard football fan until about 94, 95ish when I was in my teens so my memories of Roger Craig and Marcus Allen in their primes are sketchy, but I will say that Faulk deserves mention as the best pass catching HB because he didn't just break short passes for big gains but he ran downfield routes better than 90% of the WR in the league. In his prime he was one of the single most dynamic threats I've ever seen. I'd hate to see him retire, hope he gets healthy and settles into a supporting role, though his days as offensive MVP are probably over.

But the Cubs have basically been without Prior the entire season and Wood has missed significant time as well. Not to mention Sosa missing two months after getting too close to the pepper grinder and I'd say they've done better than expected. The big disapointment in the NL is Houston. They're an absolute mess right now, even with Petitte missing time they've underproduced, plus they've made some boneheaded moves. Getting Beltran is nice but they shouldn't have given up Dotel, and shortly after commiting to making the playoffs they fire their manager? And now they're talking about throwing in the towel and moving Beltran and/or Clemens? Ughhh, glad I'm not an Astros fan...

Hey, Odom's first two seasons in Clipper-land were great, it was just his last two with the wrist and ankle injuries and weed busts that got him off track. The player we saw last year is the REAL Lamar Odom and based off interviews I've seen with him I think the guy has his head on straight and is ready to put up 20-9-5 every year for the next 10 years. Pair him with Kobe and the potential is scary. Sure, we don't know what kind of chemistry they'll have, but Odom is a great team player with some of the best basketball instincts you'll ever see and IMO him and Kobe will go together like bread and butter.

No, but I just remembered who I was thinking of. Penn St., not Ohio, Kijana Carter
