As other people have already stated, this transfer is strictly semantics. He'll still be under US captivity physically, and we'll still be guarding him at all times, including the trial, this just means that the legal process will be handled by the new Iraqi governing council. To actually hand him over physically to the Iraqis and wash our hands of it would be extreme stupidity on our part. ......and I'm still hoping he gets shot trying to "escape," because this trial is going to end up being a circus, ESPECIALLY if it's held in Baghdad. If I were Kenzo I'd make friends with Funaki as soon as possible, he's the only guy that I know for sure is bi-lingual in English and Japanese. I always recommend going in chronological order: Start with the early classics, Out of Our Heads, December's Children, Aftermath and Between the Buttons. Then move on to the peak works, Beggar's Banquet, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main St., then jump to their last great album, Some Girls. Satanic Majesties Request is a good album, but it's a stylistic anomaly, I'd go for that after you're familiar with their traditional work.

No way, the Celtics are already loaded with guards and swingmen, they don't need a scorer in a PG's body. Banks was beyond solid last year, a little inconsistent but he was a rookie. He hit some big shots, made some big plays and played LOCKDOWN D on opposing PG's. He'll be the man at the point. DeLonte West will be converted to the point, they're convinced he can play it. Jiri Welsch, who had a breakout year in 03-04, can also play the point. Chucky Atkins will get PT as well, though he's obviously not a part of the future plans. Then they have Paul Pierce and Ricky Davis as scoring SG/SF swingmen PLUS the kid they drafted out of Ok. St....fuck loaded, they're OVERLOADED in the backcourt right now. Adding Francis makes no sense, what they really need is a big man who can score and isn't named Raef Lafrentz. Orlando has a GREAT 3 guard rotation with Francis, Mobley and Jameer Nelson. Look for Francis to start and the point and then shift over to SG when Nelson comes in. There's several ways they can play those three, plus they have DeShawn Stevenson who will never be a star but is a good backup SG and can score in bunches. That's a pretty nice backcourt, and in the frontcourt they have the forgotten man Drew Gooden (who will play MUCH better without Juwan Howard on the court, he'll get the 4 spot to himself where he is more comfortable), sharpshooter/rebounding 3 Pat Garrity returns after missing all of last year, and Grant Hill SWEARS he's finally healthy *knock on wood*. Add defensive specialist Kelvin Cato and wunderkind Dwight Howard to the mix and Orlando doesn't look so bad on paper..... Houston has the BEST 1-2 punch in the league now that Kobe and Shaq are on the outs, and honestly the rest doesn't matter. As long as they play D and lace their shoes properly this team is an easy 50 game winner. Howard, Mo Taylor, Jimmy Jackson and Spoon will play well, now all they need is a PG. D-Fish looks like a great fit, he's VG's type of player, fits their needs (bring the ball up the court and give it to T-Mac, spot up for shots, play D). If he's smart he goes to Houston. Good deal for both teams.

LOL, that's what they say about the twins every year, yet every year they're in the playoffs! I don't put so much stock in the numbers when it comes to Minnesota, they have a big homefield advantage and they know how to win down the stretch. They're a very experienced and very intelligent team. I think that stat is a little decieving because Minnesota usually keeps games close and knows how to win the nailbiters, while when the Sox win they're putting a ton of runs up on the board.

Pretty good column, I like this Keiper guy, but........ I think the Garcia trade puts the ChiSox in the drivers seat in the cental, whereas beforehand it was a toss-up with the Twins in my eyes. I wouldn't put so much stock in Garcia's road/home splits meaning impending doom for him, the guy has an ace makeup and with even average run support he'd have 7-8 wins right now. His road ERA this season is 3.91 and his only bad road starts were against Anaheim early in the season when they were healthy and killing pitchers and at Fenway, which is to be expected. Take out those two bad starts and he's been fine. And in his last three starts at Comiskey he's had a 3.54 era and a .197 baa, which points to him being fine in that ballpark He'll become their stopper down the stretch, the ChiSox needed to make this move to hope to compete with Boston and NY in the playoffs and even just to make the playoffs (which they need to win the division to do). Giving up Olivio is the price they have to pay, but Alomar will be fine for them, probably catch 3/5 games, the guy can still hit, and as nice as Olivio is it's not like he was really an impact guy for them on offense. Their bread and butter is still Thomas, Maggs, Konerko and Lee and as they go the offense will go. You gotta believe the BoSox and Yanks are kicking themselves right now, you know they would have loved to see Garcia pitching for them.

I think the first one was the usual "creative differences" excuse, they just weren't meshing anymore. I was surprised they got back together in the first place, and I really enjoyed Strays for what it was, but it's not a shock that they're on the outs again. Really, what else is there for them to accomplish as a group? They'd obviously peaked already, not gonna top the early output, better off for them to go their seperate ways. Perry is happier in his own world, Dave is happier on MTV with Carmen and Perkins seems to prefer staying low key as a studio musician. It's too bad they couldn't have appeared on the Lollapalooza bill and put more effort into making that tour work. I also blame Navarro BTW.
