WWE SmackDown - February 27, 2009
Precious Roy replied to Thanks for the Fish's topic in The WWE Folder
What's with Undertaker doing all these clean jobs all of a sudden? HHH in the chamber I can sort of understand, but Vladimir Kozlov?!?! Kozlov is the drizzling shits and he isn't over one bit. I get where it fits in the storyline they appear to be crafting, but for a guy who does so few jobs it's such a waste to burn one on that guy. I wonder what they'll do to make Jeff change his mind about wrestling his brother. I'd like to see Matt go on a remote to Cameron, NC and beat up their father. -
Probably because he was awful last year.
-
Shit, I really wanted Carlos Guillen. Would Jack Cust have been there at my next pick?
-
pinjockey PM'd me his next pick Jed Lowrie, SS Marvin is up again
-
Francisco Cordero, RP and Jack Cust, OF
-
Marvin, I'll give you 5 minutes because I see you in the thread but then I'm jumping ahead of you

Portland would be better off keeping Aldridge and Bayless and letting the Lafrentz deal come off of their own cap

Fla. Doctor Investigated in Badly Botched Abortion
Precious Roy replied to milliondollarchamp's topic in Current Events
So let me get this straight, people identifying themselves as pro-choice are up in arms about this and calling it murder, but if the abortion had gone off without a hitch it would be an acceptable medical procedure condoned by these very same people? -
Cleveland has the expiring contracts but really nothing in the way of young players or good picks. They'd have to get a third team involved to pull anything off.
-
google for a cheat sheet, there's hundreds of them out there and most are free, pick names of players you want, use the search function against the corresponding lists on page 1 of this thread to see if they've been picked already. Open up a file in wordpad to create a queue of undrafted players for yourself. It's not rocket science.

I like Biedrins a lot, but he's also signed for 6 years and 54 million. Lee could probably be signed for less than that, say 6/44-48 or so. And Wilson Chandler is no slouch either, he's one of the best young players in the league right now. I don't think Golden State has a second player of that caliber to offer up. On the other hand the draft picks coming back from the Warriors might be better. It's all hypothetical, but I think if the Knicks were to make an offer like that it would be one of the better ones that Phoenix gets.
-
Was really hoping Abreu would slip under the radar and fall to me in round 6, with his high OBP and consistent well rounded production he's perfect for this league, doesn't really matter where he ends up playing
-
The Knicks have the pieces to at least put a fair proposal on the table. David Lee, Wilson Chandler and the expiring contracts of Jerome James and Malik Rose (totaling roughly 13.8 million) would work under the cap and give the Suns two good young players. One potential hangup is the fact that Lee will be a free agent after this year and would require a decent investment from the Suns, though it would be about half of what Stoudemire makes. And I think the Suns would want some draft picks too. If you get to the point where it's Lee, Chandler and a couple first rounders it becomes questionable from the Knicks perspective, but when you have the chance to get a stud like Amare you have to take it. At the very least I'd say this year's pick is off limits and you would offer the 2010 first rounder and maybe another a couple years down the line.

I second this notion. He was a replacement so it's not like we're unfairly kicking out someone with tenure, and he didn't even try to put any effort into his first two picks. Johan Santana?!?! Seriously?!?! That's worse than Willy Aybar.

He's Matt Young'n it

I just laugh when I see people getting all fired up about steroids. Get over yourselves.

That's what it SHOULD mean... What should happen is Orton completely destroying him for the entire match with Shane's "offense" consisting solely of flailing hope spots and the mere fact that he can take a severe beating from Orton and still just barely kick out of some pin attempts before he's finished off. His lone high spot should be getting Orton down and off of the offensive once late in the match. Other than that it should be total domination and destruction from Orton. Do that for 15 minutes or so and it results in a dramatic exciting match that puts Orton over like he should be, lets Shane get over as a tough guy without it being at Orton's expense, and firmly erases that ridiculous debacle of a couple weeks ago from the collective memory. My fear is that they do a somewhat even brawl and let Shane get in all his signature spots (boxing punches, flying elbow, kendo stick, garbage can hijinx, etc.). That would be terribly pointless. Shane should be in there to sell and get Orton over, nothing more.

Are we supposed to think she was on the phone with Hunter there? And that line about security had to be an inside joke

Is there any good reason why Joe and Styles don't have matches? I know that there was an injury angle for Joe, but I thought he was back now. Did they do an injury angle with AJ or is he just not on the show? Pretty fucking stupid to leave off two of the only guys who people might pay money to see.
-
Actually no, sorry, thepinjockey has the first pick of rd. 4
-
I don't have a pick in rd. 4, you're up
-
Ideally I'd have liked to get this guy a round or two later to get better keeper value, but he'd be long gone by the time I get my next pick at the end of round 6. Here's hoping he comes up big in his second year after TJ surgery. Francisco Liriano, SP

After Steak picks can we just skip to Krankor? St. Gabe missed his last pick days ago, we shouldn't have to wait another 18 hours on him.

The difference between the 4 seed in the West (Portland) and the 8 seed (Utah) is 3 games. The difference between 2 and 8 is only 6 games. Phoenix is a 1/2 game out of eighth place, and only 3 1/2 out of 4th place! People are talking like they're going to miss the playoffs when a couple weeks from now they might be the 5 seed. It's really stupid to read too much out of the standings in early February. A lot of shuffling between 4 and 9 is going to go on before the season is over, and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Denver fall into that pack.
