Hopefully you get Victor Zambrano the annual 'Gary Sheffield is pissed off' story How about that?

In September I'm going to come back to this thread and laugh at anyone who has the Indians winning the World Series or the Yankees not making the playoffs

What's the word on Francis for tonight? Is he expected to start? I'm really excited about tonight's game, but I think New Jersey is a really bad matchup for Marbury and Francis' first game together. We don't need the embarrasment of a blowout loss to the crosstown rival on ESPN, like the talking heads need any more ammunition... I do think it's rather comical that ESPN 'just happened' to schedule the Knicks for right after the trade deadline, since it was a virtual lock that Isiah would make a big deal

Francis is a strong dude, 200 lbs of compact muscle, he doesn't get posted up easily. He's also listed at 6-3, not 6-1.
-
He's probably thinking that he's had success with two 'shooting points' in Iverson and Billups, and was making headway with Marbury before he got hurt (Steph had a string of excellent games), so his best chance for success is with those types of players. If LB can work his magic on Francis, on defense especially because he's got the talent to be a stopper, and if him and Marbury can mesh into a two-headed point/scorer monster...the Knicks could become really tough to deal with. This is of course a HUGE IF, but fuck it, it's worth a shot at this point.

I approve of the Francis experiment. That is all.

They don't have anyone else at center. He started the last game or two before the break as well.

Both Pryz and Nene are going to be unrestricted free agents. Pryz has been dealing with a knee injury, and there's whispers that it may be more serious than anyone is letting on, that it may become a chronic condition. I can see why that deal would make sense for them, if they think they have a chance to sign Nene at the end of the year, and if they plan on keeping Miles, making Outlaw a liability. And if KG goes to NY I'm throwing a party. You're all invited.

I don't buy that Houston-LA deal at all. I can understand Houston wanting to get rid of Swift's contract, I can even understand them trading McGrady if they get some good young players and picks in return, but for Francis? A guy they basically ran out of town? It makes no sense.

And thanks to LeBron the game finally starts getting interesting

I love when athletes make up words. T-Mac is using this game as an "escapegoat"

It's totally about risk, if Pavano was on Chacon's contract it wouldn't be a big deal that he's not performing/hurt. But because he is making big loot, that's why Yankee fans are so pissed off about it. And most Yankee fans didn't want him for that price in the first place.
-
tell me I didn't just see that...

I'm in Joe Torre's Revenge
-
I fail to see the irony. Chacon was a pleasant suprise that they got for next to nothing. He doesn't make all that much money, so it's low risk/high reward. Meanwhile Pavano was a high profile free agent signing making close to $10 million a year. Two totally different situations.

I give Moses props for giving Nate 8's on both of the dunks that took him mad attempts. The other judges were giving him 9's and 10's, and while the dunks he completed were sick, I think missing a certain ammount of times should hurt your score. Moses was on point.
