Yeah, Iguodala wasn't doing anything special down the stretch, he burned his best dunk early. The left handed behind the back was nice, but then he kept going for behind the back or through the leg dunks that have already been seen a bunch of times. It sucked that it took Nate so many chances on his through the legs-->off the backboard, but the one he actually hit with the figure 8-->pass was nice. They really need to do something about the attempts rule though. When did it go from like 1 missed attempt to unlimited? Put it at like 3 or 5 or something. Robinson's final dunks were better IMO, but the real question is: AI-->AI backboard pass v. Nate over Spud?

I love Nate...but I think they rigged this shit

IT'S A DUNK OFF!!!! CALL DAVID BOWIE!

Forget about Iguodala and Paul, how about BOGUT!?! Dude was throwing wild passes!

Actually, I think Crawford makes enough to make that deal work. If we can get K-Mart and Watson and only give up Crawford I'd do that deal in a second. I'd rather give up Crawford here and save Penny's contract for another trade, because if we bring in Watson, along with Marbury, Robinson, Rose and Ariza we're too crowded on the perimeter to have minutes for everyone. Watson can ball, so ideally we'd run Watson-Marbury w/ Nate backing up and Rose swinging to SG at times.

I don't buy that. Wade would have been the perfect combo backup to Rip and Chauncey, and Bosh would have brought a ton of energy off the bench in the frontcourt. Both guys were polished and near NBA ready coming out of college, scouts knew both guys were players. They could have fit onto that Pistons team seamlessly as 20 min a night backups, whereas Darko was a total project who wasn't even ready for that. I do agree that Melo would have been a bad fit with Larry Brown as the coach.

How the hell can you not know about all-star weekend!?!?

Rumours, because he's the one guy that other GMs really want and always ask about. Give Thomas some credit, he's not about to trade a potential all-star for a guy who's had two broken legs and is ravaged by nagging injuries. Personally, as a Knicks fan, I'd love a Marbury-Francis backcourt, it has amazing potential. Don't know how well it would work, but I'd love it. If those two could get on the same page they'd be almost unstopable. Two strong, physical combo guards, they share the duty of handling the ball, Marbury is more of a pure point, Francis is more of a pure scorer, but in the right situation either one can excell in either role. Having both of them out there together could make it really difficult on defenses, and really easy for those two to pick their spots, or it could be a total clusterfuck. It would all depend on the chemistry between them. But from the Orlando standpoint, I figure they'd ask for something like Frye and Lee to start, and I doubt they'd be very keen on taking on Crawford or Q-Rich. They definitely don't want Marbury nor is there any benefit for NY in swapping him for Francis, so I doubt anything comes out of this talk

Thank you. Someone had to say it. Prince is a valuable role player, spectacular at times, but he is SO FAR from an all-star it's not even funny. He's the 4th option on that team, but for a guy who's specialty is supposed to be defense you have to do a LOT better than 4 boards, .6 steals, .4 blocks per. He plays 35+ a night, and his numbers are weak. I'm all about intangibles, but come on. This is the 24 BEST players in the league, it really pisses me off when a guy like Charles Barkley is trying to pimp Tayshaun Prince for the all-star team. All because the Pistons are having a great year? Were people pimping Ron Harper back in 97? HELL NO. I'm pretty sure Charles Barkley doesn't even watch the games, because I remember a couple months back he was pimping Villaneuava for rookie of the year, claiming he'd been "more consistent than he was in college". Meanwhile, at the time C-Vil was alternating between near 20-10 games and games where he'd have like 4 points and 2 boards in 25 minutes.

I think technically (going by the all-star ballots) Gasol is considered a forward. I was thinking Okur would get the center spot. But really, Camby was having a much better year than Yao when he got injured, and they missed almost the same amount of time. I'm not against fan voting, I just wish the fanbase as a whole wasn't so retarded.
-
No way should Carter be in ahead of Kidd. Dude is a monster on offense, but if Kidd doesn't make it neither one of them should. Also think it's a crime that Camby doesn't make it, but I'm not really surprised due to how cutthroat the West is. Melo is having an all-star year, the West is just way too deep at forward.

I'm kind of surprised LeCroy didn't get a better offer from anyone. I didn't even realize he was on the market.

I can't say he's the biggest, because the talent in the 98 draft, in which Michael Olowokandi went 1st, is mind blowing. Mike Bibby, Vince Carter, Paul Pierce, Antawn Jamison, Larry Hughes, Dirk Nowitzki, Bonzi Wells, Jason Williams and Ricky Davis in the first rd. That's a stacked draft, and the first four guys had great college careers and deserved #1 consideration.
-
Looking back at that draft, Kwame Brown has to be one of the biggest busts of all time, and Jordan must feel like a real ass for wasting that pick on him. Could have had Pau Gasol, Joe Johnson, Jason Richardson, Shane Battier, Richard Jefferson, Zach Randolph, Gerald Wallace, Sam Dalembert, Tony Parker or Gilbert Arenas. The two other highly touted HSers, Curry and Chandler, are both far superior players to Brown at this point. Hell, Jordan was like the only one who had Kwame that high on the board, I remember a lot of people saying he should go with the safe pick of Battier since he was planning on coming back to play.

ROH doesn't shy away from that. Who in this thread was even saying that they should? ROH is in really good shape right now. They're bound to lose talent to TNA and WWE, but using that talent to the full extent while they still have them, and using the stage that talent has helped build as an "indy showcase" for up and comers with buzz is what can keep them strong longterm.

Well, no offense, but I've been trying to tell you (or maybe it was Vitamin X, if it wasn't you my bad), but I've been trying to say this to the Laker fans round here since they traded for him, and all throughout last season. The guy is a really talented, multi-dimensional player. He's hella valuable on the court. He can a perfect compliment to Kobe if Kobe will fully accept him in that role, and really, if he didn't have Kobe on the court he would be more assertive, and was last year when Kobe was out of the lineup, which was no surprise, when Caron Butler played his best. I just have a ton of respect for the way Odom plays the game, he works hard at both ends, he's unselfish, he plays the right way. You shouldn't hate on the guy because he isn't some super agressive eye of the tiger killer on offense, that's just not his game, he's more comfortable playing his part, making the guys around him better, and taking advantage of the opportunitys that a proper offensive flow allows him. I think a lot of the reason why Laker fans get down on him is because he was traded for Shaq. Hate the trade or not, that isn't Odom's fault.

I used to be the biggest Steve Martin fan but the guy just isn't that funny anymore, and doing live sketch comedy just shows how unfunny/out of practice he is these days. I still like the guy, and it pains me to say it, but Steve Martin, YOU'RE NOT FUNNY! The surfer skit was like a definite nod to this fact, just kind of sad that they have to make a skit out of the fact that he's past his prime...and it couldn't even be done in an ironic sense The first Prince song was really good, a total ode to Jimi Hendrix. Second song was awful, and smacked of Prince trying to put over the latest untalented bimbo he's banging. Nothing wrong with him trying to sell his album though, that's the only reason he's on the show! Did you have a problem with the cheap plugs for Pink Panther? That's all SNL is there for these days. My favorite parts of the show were the opening with Martin "killing" Baldwin and the short with Armisen talking non-stop (don't know why you'd single out the Conan bit as especially funny though). The zoom in doctor skit was really clever as the hackneyed first half was all to setup the actual joke, definitely the most creative writing on the show.

How can anyone hate Lamar Odom?!?

Except he's absolutely nothing like Kurt Thomas you need to stop basing all your analysis on #'s

Joe and Danielson Vs KENTA and Marufuji

Has Joe lost any matches in ROH since he won the X-Title? I can't see TNA being too happy about that.... -
Joe and Danielson Vs KENTA and Marufuji

I'd have prefered Aries/Strong in the spot, but it's too difficult to figure out which team would job. It's a lot easier to sell NOAH on the ROH world champion and TNA's X champ than on the belts formerly held by Tony Mamaluke and Sal Rinuaro Someone pinning KENTA makes the most sense to me, unless they're planning on using him semi-regularly this year and want to build up to a match with Danielson. I wouldn't have any problem with KENTA pinning Danielson here if Danielson got the win back in a 1-1 title match.
