No, I DO, I want Manny off the Sox
-
I love going to Yankee games, and pro basketball and hockey are always fun too. College football is usually a blast, Pats games too, but up north that shit usually becomes trial by freezing your fucking balls off and requires drinking so much whiskey and beer that you just don't give a fuck.

I agree that the Mets should try and keep Trachsel. He pitched very well in 2004, and pitched well when he came back last year, really deserved a permanent rotation spot over Zambrano, but they're still trying to justify the Kazmir deal. If the Mets should deal any starter it should be Zambrano. If they can get Vazquez for Benson they should do that. And they should not just throw Heilman in on a deal, that kid has potential. EDIT* I'd tell the Red Sox to go fuck themselves, they're dealing a player who has publically stated he won't play for them again, they have no leverage, a deal for CARLOS FUCKING BELTRAN, I don't care if he had a down year, is more than fair. He's younger than Manny, a much better fielder, runs the bases like a pro, and while he's not the complete hitter that Manny is, we know he can knock it out

That Ryan deal is crazy, but it doesn't surprise me. Dude is a nasty lefthanded K machine, and he's in his prime. He was in high demand. I'm jealous of the Blue Jays for getting him. I'm also a little surprised, as Miguel Batista seemed to be doing a fine job. I wonder if he'll become the setup man, or go back to starting. And the Cubs are supposedly the favorites for Juan Pierre, and are in on Furcal, so it's not like they're not trying to address their needs.

Alternate road jersey. I think Boston may have been the last hold out on having them. Penny is still on the big contract he signed with Phoenix, before he started breaking down with all the injuries. The Knicks had to take him to get Marbury.

Damn. I knew he was one of the last big guys on a deal from prior to the newest CBA, but I didn't realize it was that much. I was thinking it was like 15-18 mil a year, 20+ is just insane, even for someone as talented as him. As proven, you can't win when you spend almost half the cap on one dude. The Knicks are so far over the cap that it doesn't matter. New Celtics uniforms debuting tonight

East: Ben Wallace Chris Webber LeBron James Gilbert Arenas Allen Iverson West: Marcus Camby Tim Duncan Dirk Nowitzki Kobe Bryant Steve Nash and yes, it's rediculous to vote this early in the season

But who the hell would want to sign with Minnesota? And how much is KG actually making per year? Whatever big name FA they target would probably command close to as much. Minnesota's biggest problem is the dumb salaries they've given to the guys around KG, like Wally, Olowokandi, Troy Hudson and now Marko Jaric

Edited for accuracy. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Oh Jesus, they got Mota too?
-
Because Overbay can play CF and throw relief!
-
so what is it about then? what the fuck does DETROIT of all places have to do with Thanksgiving? If anything, New England should have an annual game, Plymouth Rock and shit!
-
I think the W-L and homers was a result of pitching for Boston. Only gave up 6 at Fenway. Bottom line on Clement IMO, he's talented, but doesn't have it all together. He's a decent bottom of the rotation guy, but I wouldn't trust him for anything more, just due to his style, too inconsistent, throws too many bad pitches. He'd probably be a good fit for Milwaukee for that reason, they've got some real good starting pitching, Sheets, Davis, Capuano at the top, and Clement can slide into the 4-5 spot without much pressure on him. Kind of like his role in Chicago. But I really want Overbay in pinstripes, SO PAVANO OR BUST!
-
And this Dallas/Denver game has been pretty exciting. Best Thanksgiving game in recent memory ? (my memory sucks)
-
Seriously, can we take the Detroit turkey day game out back and put a bullet in it's head yet? Am I the only one who's SICK of seeing this perenially mediocre team getting the holiday spotlight? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Earlier in this very thread on the same page: <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I spelled perennially wrong. You win

It's a Thanksgiving tradition! Seriously, can we take the Detroit turkey day game out back and put a bullet in it's head yet? Am I the only one who's SICK of seeing this perenially mediocre team getting the holiday spotlight?

I'd say Clement's drop in performance was a result of AL batters figuring him out. Dude has sketchy control, you just need to be patient and stay behind his stuff. I proposed a Pavano for Overbay trade and Keiper wrote it off because Milwaukee "wants prospects" or something! HA! Fuck Matt Clement, y'all Milwaukeeans want PAVANO! You NEED him!

*speechless* I would hope the citizens of the south side would be armed with torches and pitchforks should the White Sox not resign Konerko, who put on one of the most impressive post-season performances of recent memory. If they can keep Konerko, DH Thome, move Everett to left and Podsednik to CF this doesn't look so bad. But, is Thome any more reliable than Frank Thomas at this point? He's making a hell of a lot more money, that's for sure. And Rowand is a great OF with a pretty good bat. Good move for Philly.
-
Damn, the Cubs are spending a ton of cash on middle relievers
-
The Sox make a big move, the Mets make a big move....can the Yankees be far behind? Also, could it be possible that Delgado is flipped to the Sox for Manny?
-
Does anyone know a place to find Chikara matches/shows?
-
The Marlins with a middle infield of Robinson Cano and Hanley Ramirez would be an affront to good taste
-
It's a stretch to say he plays an "awesome" CF. He's only played CF 62 times in his career, and last season his numbers were below league average at the position. Also, he's a left-center pull hitter, so not a good fit for Yankee stadium. He's a decent player, but nothing special really. They can do better than Monroe in a Pavano deal.
