Ok, there's no way they can justify another TE contest now, right?

"THAT'S RIGHT FRANK! I AM SLIME!" that's from one of his SNL appearances. The stage was surrounded by TV sets oozing silly putty

Rush. I cannot comprehend not having your face rocked off by Rush. I also kind of like a band named Chavelle that I saw mentioned in this thread, and I believe they're considered uncool. I don't own any of their stuff, but out of all the current shit that gets played on the local ALTR3NATIVEEE RAWWK station their songs have stuck out as better than average. I'm also a big INXS fan, not proud days for us....

days like this make me hate baseball

This is pre-Desert Storm. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ahh, my bad. So people are trying to make it political because it has an anti-war message? Start burning books...

Oh yeah, I forgot about Kanye. Well, I thought College Dropout was pretty overrated, so I didn't come into this one with high expectations, and the usual Kanye on the boards > Kanye on the mic attitude. Well, I've been pleasantly surprised here, I like the beats and samples a lot more than those on College Dropout (love the Motor Booty Affair sample on Crack Music, shows Kanye is showing some thought and not just digging the usual P-Funk crates), Kanye is much better on the mic here, and the whole thing just flows better and feels more complete. I've only given it one spin, and Kanye is NOT the second coming of anything, and reading some of Kanye's reviews and fans still makes me want to choke people, but anyway....

You're thinking of the horn or flute sample, right? Yeah, it's definitely used in a 2Pac song. I'm racking my brain right now, but I don't have any of his records handy to listen through. I think it's off Me Against the World, but I'm not sure. I know like 5 seconds after I post this I'll think of it..... Ok, after racking my brain I've ID'd the song, it's "Shorty Wanna Be a Thug" off MATW. The sample comes from a Hank Crawford song called "Wildflower" which with any luck I can find and post..... ...... But the reason I even came to this thread in the first place (and ironic) is because the basic part of the Drive Slow beat, the steady background, I KNOW I've heard that verbatim in songs before. In fact, I just deleted a bunch of tracks off my harddrive a couple weeks ago and now I'm kicking myself because that was one of the songs. I think it was Das EFX or Freddie Foxxx, but I'm not sure. I think the chorus went "I can't take the pressure on my brain and I'm buggin". Anyone help me out? I'm trying to trace it back to the original track it's sampled off.... EDIT* nevermind, it's all sampled off the same song, but it's still pissing me off not knowing who else flipped it.... EDIT* I think the song is called "Project Mice" by Freddie Foxxx, but now I can only find the remix on P2P

Were any Nam movies actually made WHILE the war was still being fought? Between this and the show on FX it's too much too soon, it's bad enough being worried about the boys I know on the ground without it being mass marketed for entertainment purposes

Seriously, fuck Shawn Michaels. Dude is PLAYED OUT as a face and he refuses to accept it. He's never had a good run as a face, the guy is just a natural heel. He got by for a year or so on the nostalgia and overcoming injury factor, but that's gone, and there's nothing remotely interesting about his character. The only time he's been must see tv is when he started heeling on Hogan, he started showing that fire he used to have. Seriously, they wonder why business has completely leveled out and shit like this is the culprit. He could resurrect himself and help a hell of a lot of guys get over, and instead we get three years of tepid 'reformed bad boy' bullshit. For all Michaels' talk of being a different person, if he can't seperate himself as a christian from a character he plays on tv it's that same old egomaniac running the show. I don't know what's worse, the god complex or the blind religion.

Dee Brown is gonna be on a fucking mission this year. I'm not totally sold on the Big East yet, didn't UConn suspend both it's PGs over some stolen laptops? Did West Virginia lose anyone important? -
I forgot about the Warriors, I guess because I don't trust Baron to play more than half the season. But yeah, they're another team that looks like a playoff contender. I need League Pass this year to see all these run n' gun West Coast games, the Pacific Division is gonna be nuts. As for the Griz losing Swift, I think Hakim Warrick can fill his role on that team.

The OAO Mystery Science Theater 3000 Thread
Precious Roy replied to DMann2003's topic in Television & Film
I watched like half of Laserblast, and it was fucking horrible. A Master Ninja reference and Hank Williams Jr. "ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL??!!" riff just barely made it worthwhile. Based on the plot summary the rest of it has to be good.... -
Damn, I just noticed the Grizzlies have a pretty dope roster C- Lorenzen Wright PF - Pau Gasol SF - Mike Miller SG - Eddie Jones PG - Damon Stoudamire Shane Battier, Bobby Jackson, Hakim Warrick, Brian Cardinal off the bench, and you'll probably see Gasol at C a lot with Miller at off guard and Battier, Cardinal/Warrick in I think they look just as good as the LA clubs on paper, maybe as good as Dallas and Sacramento. definitely a playoff contender, only question is if they can depend on Gasol and Stoudamire as a 1-2 punch in the clutch. It's gonna be a dogfight for those 6-7-8 spots.

LeBron and Hughes will get a ton of steals, and they've got Z in the lane, Snow can bring ball pressure off the bench, Marshall is underrated defensively, that should be enough to let them outscore teams most nights. I like the Damon Jones signing because he can play pretty much the same role he did in Miami and sit out at the three point line. Their biggest weakness was outside shooting and they brought in three starters who can stroke it. Doesn't Marshall have the record for 3's in a game? 12 or something? Z can shoot from the outside too, so they should be able to do some interesting things offensively.

So our rotation now is Johnson, Chacon, Wright, Small and Wang? It also sounds like they're not optimistic about Pavano or Mussina pitching again this year, and Wright or Wang could get reinjured at any time. It'll be tough to win with that staff, but none of the other AL playoff rotations really scare me. I like what they're doing with Bonds, making their opponents think he could be in the lineup any day. Smart managing, but I don't see him doing more than pinch hitting and playing an inning or two in the field yet.

Rick Rude and Mr. Perfect would like to have a word with you...

and yet the Bullets became the Wizards, and we all know how many practitioners of black magic Washington makes home to...

Oh shit, Michaels just broke it by accident and they're going to ignore it, I knew something screwy would happen... and now it's barely even a full nelson, this is absolutely killing the hold....

This happens every couple years with various different teams and leagues, and he's always pisses everyone off and gets run out of town.

Does that mean there's going to be a bunch of old ass coffins and skeletons floating around?

ESPN should have shown the Mariners-Yankees game, I'm still waiting to see "the next Doc Gooden" pitch
