One and Only "ECW: One Night Stand" Thread
Precious Roy replied to GreatWhiteNope's topic in The WWE Folder
Hahahaha, they're still chanting! -
"SHUT THE FUCK UP!" They're chanting what I was thinking

It's his way of saying he doesn't drink alcohol, that Pepsi is all he needs. Something like that. It's ridiculous really. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yeah, ridiculous because everyone knows Coke owns Pepsi

You have to wait for the schedule data to be downloaded. If it doesn't happen within the next few hours, call your cable company and they can "zap" the information to your digital cable box. Usually after power outages you'll see "no data" on the channels. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The same thing happens to me at some point during the overnight, when the new data is being fed in there'll be a half hour or so window where you can't check the guide or get info when you call up a channel.

Tyson can make as much money whoring himself out to reality TV, writing a book, etc. etc. as he could boxing at this point. He's been done for years, he knows he's done, he knows people tune in for the circus/car crash aspect, so he got his $5mil for a meaningless fight and is getting out. There was no reason for him to win this fight. As much money as he might owe the IRS, he's still going to be well off for the rest of his life, that's just the way it goes with people in his position

Tyson's postmatch interview he came out and said he was done, said he had nothing to fight for, no passion, and that he quit after the 6th because he didn't want to keep fighting. And he was completely calm and subdued, I really can't see him coming back..... I still think the whole thing was fixed though.

It should go cable line ---> digital receiver ----> VCR (via AV) ----> TV (via either or) That's how it works with my setup, with the VCR--->TV connected by coaxil

Is "Extreme Heat" going to be live from the Hammerstein, or will it be done in studio? It would be pretty cool if they do it live...

Spike has a great thing going with UFC, and they run all those CSI repeats that get great ratings....I really can't see them picking up TNA. TNA will probably return to FSN, but I can't see them lasting past 06 at the rate they're going.

Wade hurt himself on a jump shot, how did the Pistons "goon" him?!?!

That Mets-Angels game was one of the best I've seen this year. Anderson with the crazy inside the park homer, and Cliff Floyd battling, fouling off several pitches to get the walk off.

Paul Bearer re-signs with the WWE
Precious Roy replied to Open the Muggy Gate's topic in The WWE Folder
It sounds like Vince is being a nice guy and throwing him a bone here. Good for Percy, he deserves it -
Uh, Van Exel already announced his retirement like 2 months into this past season. That trade will not happen.

Pistons are in hot water....

Any bets on the wildcard opponent? I'd guess X-Pac, but being that it's the anniversary show Sting would make a lot more sense. However, it would be beyond stupid not to hype a Sting appearance, so I doubt it will be him

'Swingman's' are polyester, slightly better quality than the nylon replicas, a little heavier, nicer to the touch but not too noticably different visually. Check em out at a store to see the difference.

Benoit never held the IWGP title, he held the IWGP Juniors title

Cano could probably use another year in AAA, but he looks like a potential .275 25-30 hr guy if he can get a little more patient and experienced at the plate, he takes good cuts but he just takes them at the wrong pitches sometimes, and he has no clue how to work a count. His defense hasn't been perfect, but it's better than advertised. And I don't necessarily have a problem with this being his learning year in the bigs, IF they plan on keeping him around for the long term. If they're just showcasing him for a midseason trade I'll be mildly pissed off.

I taped RAW and watched game 7, I don't see how a 3.7 can be considered a disapointment considering the competition

The best Venis match I've ever seen was against Steve Austin, on SD, I think it was fall of 99 right before Austin went on the shelf, but it's so long ago that I could be way off on the date. It was 15-20 minutes, old school give and take technical match with a little brawling thrown in, Venis got in a ton of offense, Austin let him look like a superstar, and the crowd was really hot down the stretch. I remember being bummed out when they didn't build any momentum off of it for Venis.

Marion guarded Duncan, or Mohammed when Stoudemire was on TD, he was almost never on Ginobili per asignment. Marion's an excellent defender at the 3, and on help, but not so good 1-1 at the 4 when he has to guard a guy like Duncan. Phoenix got away with it against smaller 4 K-Mart and less physical 4 Nowitzki. The Bowen-Hamilton and Prince-Ginobili matchups should be really interesting. If anyone can contain Rip it's Bowen, and Prince's length and instincts are a good match for Ginobili's quickness and creativity. I think Billups has an advantage against Parker, he's a lot quicker than Nash and if the refs let him play physical should be able to slow Parker down quite a bit. Parker has no chance to contain him on D. If Detroit wins it will be because Billups is able to abuse Parker on both ends.

The WWE/ECW confrontation will end the show in all probability, and they would be INSANE to not let the ECW guys stand tall at the end of the show. Some scrubs like Axl Rotten and Ballz will take finishers, but they'll just have the "WWE" ECW guys like Benoit, Foley, AUSTIN, Dudleyz etc. to gain the upper hand, alongside Sabu, Sandman, Dreamer. It'll be like the Invasion when Austin jumps, ECW goes over on the strength of "WWE" guys. Is Funk going to be there? I'd mark the fuck out for a spinning toehold on Angle. How about Tanaka? ROARING ELBOW ON BISCHOFF!

I think it's time for Lawler to go too, or at least scale him back to doing a B show, he brings nothing to the table at this point and brings out the worst in JR. JR needs someone who will keep him on his toes and challenge him, he's too fucking complacent sitting next to King, and I totally agree with the guy who started the topic about how he sounds like he's trapped in 98, and thought the unconvincing commentary really dulled the impact of Cena being drafted. The way he put it over, it just didn't feel convincing or genuine. I don't know if he'd be interested in doing it again, but Heyman was excellent working with JR in 01. I think he's good enough to carry Cole to a good performance, better than he shows with Tazz, so I'd put them together on SD! and move Tazz to RAW. Tazz and JR have shown promise when they've called the Rumbles. EDIT* And I know he's turned down Vince several times, but I'm crossing my fingers that when Raven retires he'll agree to an announcing gig, maybe if some writing responsibility was thrown in he'd bite, because Levy was an awesome color man during the Johnny Polo days.

I voted Ortiz for DH, so When did this thread turn into a disection of my meaningless, first glance picks?
