ROH Eddie Tribute Show this Sat.

Oh, i thought that TNA let fans into their shows for free? Thats certainly the way it worked when i went to those Impact! tapings.

    Turning around on albums.

I originally didn't like any of Led Zeppelin's albums, but I've now come around on them.

Yes but the average backyard fed draws more paid fans then the number 2 promotion. JustJoe25K And Ring of Honor's previous owner was nice, caring, and friendly...if you're a teenage boy. Im no great fan of ROH, but bringing up Feinstein as a point against Gabe is kinda weak. Although to be fair he was being payed by ROH for a short time following the scandal.

Yes, but dont ROH make like 95% of their money from video sales anyway? Im not saying that ROH are trying to cash in on the tradegy, im just saying that the idea shouldunt be dismissed so easily.

Thats the understatement of the year!!! For ROH to use Eddie's name to sell tickets, butcher the card and then not give his family any of the money, well..... i think maybe they should change their company name.

So its not a night of tribute, its a night of dedication. I guess Gabe must have got the name wrong. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I didn't notice what the show was called. And I still don't see ROH selling too many extra tickets on the back of that name and a 10 bell salute. It's not like they're promoting a special match or interviews or anything. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I dont see them selling many extra tickets because of the name of the show either. However my gripes with the show have nothing to do with that, and everything to do with the fact that they havent booked any wrestlers that were close with Eddie, and have instead boooked the same old ROH talent they would for every show. The idea of the show being slapped on to sell tickets and videos, shouldunt be dismissed so easily. After all, Shinya Hashimoto was a massive wrestling star and ROH didnt do a tribute show for him when he died, because their mainly playing to American audiences.

Also, ROH has connections all over the place, so you are telling me they couldn't call up a couple luchadors to work this show? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No one ever said they couldn't, the problem is that the show is happening in 2 days time and they haven't. What also confuses me is that despite the fact that they make refernce to Eddie in the title of the show, you talk as if his memory isn't going to be a big part of the show. And just to verify: if any other indy promotion took the same aproach to an Eddie tribute show that ROH has, I would complain then to.

You just know that upon reading your last post Gabe would think that having worked you he has achevied his objective.

If they dont then Cary is a douchebag, if an advertised wrestler refuses to work for free then he is a douchebag. I fully expect that the money the show makes will go to Eddie's family though.

Even if they are giving the money the show raises to Eddie's family, they could have held off on this till they had time to plan a proper tribute show.

Oh puh - leaze, Eddie tribute spots on an Eddie tribute show were always a given. Its who's doing the spots that makes the difference. I cant wait till the ROHbots start finding ways to talk about how much better a tribute show ROH did then WWE.

Eddie wrestled in the indies from October 2001 to April 2002 surely he must have made friends with some low level indy guys. But no surely Jay Lethal is more qualified to pay tribue to Eddie.

If they really wanted to pay homage to Eddie, they should have only booked wrestlers he was friends with.

    CZW Night Of Infamy

Speaking of Sexy Eddy, i remember he was the most over wrestler in CZW after Tournament Of Death 3, how has Zandig handled his momentum since then? Is he still over? If so to what degree?

What makes a 5 star match?

"Often considered" yes, but the long term selling wasnt there, and the Ankle Lock to Crossface reversal sequence was mind numingly stupid. Wouldunt break *** for me. Id say the best Angle match ive seen was against Austin at Sumerslam 2001.

    Best Albums

Wow, I finally listened to ATLiens. It's probably the best Outkast album I've heard, and I have all of theirs apart from their debut. The only other contender would be Stankonia.

HTQ's Survey: If You Were A Wrestler...

If you were a wrestler, would you: Prefer to be given only finish and call everything else in the ring? Lay the entire match out beforehand? Depends on how long id been wrestling for and how long my opponent had been wrestling for. Like to have your promo's scripted? Or just be given a couple of bullet points, and wing the rest? Bullet points, although i wouldunt want to cut a promo untill i had practiced a lot off camera. Blade often? Only on occasion? Would you rather never blade at all? I think that if theres blood often in a promotion, let alone from one wrestler it will burn the fans out on it, and no longer seem special. So, only on rare occasion and only in main events. What style would you like to wrestle? Why would you prefer to employ that particular style over others? Dunno, i would have to try different things out in the ring and see what works before i could answer this. Refuse to take certain moves? Only take them when working with certain wrestlers? Any head drops, or any kind of carear threatening bump really. Are there any match types you'd like to wrestle in a lot? Some match types you'd rather never have to work in? Only singles and tags, if you wrestle in too many gimmick matches then fans wont care when you dont. What style of normal match would you like to do the most? Would you prefer to sell or to dominate? Would you like to do long matches? Depends on my position in the company compared to my opponents, as well as any circumstances that would make one wrestler more likely to dominate. I would only like to do long matches if i had enough experience with filling time. Would you like to have a manager or valet to work spots with or would you rather just do it all yourself? No, because ive always prefered trying to achieve something on my own than as part of a team. I also have a nasty habbit of reliying on the other person to much in those situations. Are there some types of angles that you would refuse to do? Some types of angles that you'd love to do? I wouldunt want to do any angles that involve sex or racism, i think that apart from that id just love to do angles period. What promotion would you like to work for the most? What promotion would you hate to work for? Id like to work for a japanese promotion, since they seem to be fairly patient as far as bulding their wrestlers up go's. Id hate to work for All Star Wrestling, here in England since its essensially a load of pantomime crap. What promotion of the past would you most liked to have worked for? What promotion would you have hated working for the most? NWA circa early 70's to mid 80's, since the expireince of travelling from promotion to promotion learning how to wrestle would just be invaluble. Id hate working for WCW from 1997 - 2000, since it had so much great talent in this period and sqaundered most of it. Any wrestlers today that you'd like to work against? Any you would avoid working against at all costs? Id like to work with Eddie Gurreou ( never can spell his name right) since hes probably the best in the world at the moment. I wouldunt want to work against Low Ki, or A.J Styles, since their matches are gennerally very much about themselves. What wrestlers from the past would you like to work against? What wrestlers from the past would you not want to work against? Id like to work against Harley Race in the 70's so i could observe first hand how to put a lower ranked wrestler over, whilst not taking away from yourself. I wouldunt like to work with Bruiser Brody or Billy Robinson, because of the storys i have heard of them putting themsef over at the expense of their opponent, or shooting on him mid match.

    Spoilers For This Saturday's Impact

But none of those ECW wrestlers had been made to look like chumps on a national stage, same for Rey and Psicosis. Hall and Nash had been booked as stars in the WWF. Of course most of the new fans TNA have picked up will be much more familiar with Rhyno, then any homegrown talent. And his WWE tenure will have an effect on how hes viewed. Thats why Samoa Joe or Monty Brown will be MUCH more effective in the role of unstoppable monster heel now.

    Spoilers For This Saturday's Impact

If Rhino had been built up to world title contender level on t.v, then it would have been ok. But as it is, the average person who was just introduced to TNA will see them as minor league, since Rhino was in a grand total of what 4 singles matches on ppv in as many years in WWE? and hes somehow good enough to win the belt in TNA.

    Spoilers For This Saturday's Impact

To try and make their product seem exiting. Although in the process i can almost 100% garuntee you that they will just de sensitise their fans to title changes, to the point where they wont mean anything. Its times like these when you have to wonder if Russo's back on the writing team.
