A bit late to ask the question, but how did Nikolai Volkoff went from evil anthem-singing, Stalin-worshipper Russian to being pro-American and coming out to Stars and Stripes Forever ? I tape matches, promos and moments on VHS. So far, I didn't had any problems.

    Pizza Hut

I rarely ate at Pizza Hut's in the past. If I ever did, I had a guaranteed digestion problem because of all the grease. Nevertheless, I actually worked there for three years during my college years. I've sort of developped a kind of immunity to the food, except for the Pan and Stuffed Crust, which are absolutely disgusting. Regular crust or pastas were the way to go. Since I've left the job a few years back, I've only ate there once and I saw that my immunity was gone. I really wonder how can people can like the pan pizza there, you have no idea how much grease/oil there is in it.

The "Vent about not having Program X on 24/7" Thread

Got everything this week....I think. I've got two 90 min. ECW shows, the other one is in the legends section. Didn't see if it truly was an ECW show however. Still don't have the MNW which seriously blows since it's my main reason for getting the channel in the first place. I hope I didn't missed anything important. I've sent another complaint to Cogeco since I didn't received any reply to my first one. Guaranteed reply within two opening days my ass.

Levels you hate in game you love

I didn't mind the water level in the original TMNT. The next level however, when you,re in the city with the Turtlewagon, that kicked my ass every time. I absolutely hate the fact that you have to beat every boss in unknown chambers before you get to Dr. Wily in the old Mega Man games. When you have to do a ton of backtracking or switching items in menus (ie.: the Water Temple in OoT, not that hard of a dungeon but annoying) I don't mind so much Labyrinth Zone in Sonic, but I loathe Sandopolis act 2 with the ghosts in Sonic & Knuckles I didn't like World 7 in the original Super Mario Bros with all the Bullet Bills, now it's one of my favorite. That's all I can think of now.

    Heroes

Not a big supposition, but Claire must be Adam's daughter. - They both have the same power. As Matt and his dad showed, powers are hereditary. - Since Ned Ryerson has locked Adam and threw the key of his cell away, they have given Claire to HRG for protection, as we saw in season 1. - "Save the cheerleader, save the world" would work for why Peter would help him for saving the world.

The "Vent about not having Program X on 24/7" Thread

I've sent a complaint to Cogeco, they haven't sent me a reply yet. So far, only the Famous Families program was added since Wednesday. The only weird thing that happened recently was during the last update, where all the shows were before named "XXX MM/DD/YY" they were now "XXX MM-DD-YY"....not that changing "/" for "-" matters anyway.

The "Vent about not having Program X on 24/7" Thread

No updates today which is weird because it always had the full update (well....full as I can have...) at midnight sharp. What I have looks like this : TV : NWA, ECW and WCCW PPV : Survivor Series '90 I-II Legends : Piper + 3 matches Shorties : All of them I know should have had MNW but what else I'm missing ?

    Guitar Hero.

He beat me the first time but I took care of him during his last solo with a double-note. He had nothing but three or four-notes chords and he dropped from green to red in a flash. I went for a challenge with GHIII and I'm playing only on hard instead of beginning at medium. Am I the only who found the second set of songs easier than the first ? The one thing that I found difficult in this set is hitting the 3 notes sequences in Barracuda. On paper it looks like a piece of cake but my timing is always off.

    Your Collection in picture form

Here is my entry for the "show off your wiener size" contest : Not pictured : Eternal Champions, Taz : Escape From Mars Not Pictured : Paper Mario Maybe a quarter of the XBox games came when I bought it from a friend. I keep them since they will get me nothing in credit. Other games not pictured : NES : Super Mario Bros 1-2-3, Metroid, some 120-in-1 cartridge, Dragon Warrior I, Excitebike, Ice Hockey, Kung Fu, Laser Invasion, Tecmo World Wrestling Game Boy : Super Mario Land 1-2-3, Tetris, Zelda : Link’s Awakening, Metroid II, Pokemon Yellow, Radar Mission, Go Go Tank Game Gear : Sonic 2, World Series Baseball …..what a flop. PC : Half-Life 1 + Opposing Force & Blue Shift, Half-Life 2, Elder Scrolls : Oblivion, Command & Conquer : Red Alert, Diablo, Doom Legacy, Sim City 3000 Unlimited, Planescape Torment, Who Wants to be a Millionaire 2 Nearly 20 years worth of gaming......I think I have no life. I bought maybe two or three games per month during my college years and I've never touched several of them. I barely have time to play nowadays. Still, I intend to go through most of them one of these days.

    Guitar Hero.

I made a pre-order for the game during the week and I received a call this morning for picking it tomorrow, didn't bought it at Sears however. I know I've seen Rocks the 80's on shelves a day before it came out, but it's weird for a game to be availlable on a Sunday instead of the usual Tuesday release. I should sell it on eBay, there must surely be a few idiots out there willing to pay way too much for playing the game 2 days before everyone.
  14. The Rumble match with Vince happened more than 5 years ago, it's normal for someone in his fifities to age considerably during this period. Flair must be on something anyway, be it steroids or pain pills. It's not normal that, after a lifetime of taking bumps and punishement, you continue to wrestle at 60. Even Terry Funk, the guy who had the most retirements in the business, knew when to stop.

How far you get on Breakdown? I got up to the point where you get the abiilty to shoot the projectile from your arms...and there's an area shortly after that where enemies WILL gang up on you and you WILL have to deal with about 3 of them blasting their own energy projectiles at you, with no real way to snipe 'em or otherwise take them out without eating tons of damage. I actually enjoyed a lot of it at first (liked a lot of the platforming touches, the ability to actually see your own limbs with it, the cool evasive maneuvers like backflip, etc)....but you can't effectively aim your weapon because it's so dependent on lock-on. BTW, for a lot of folks, like me, who are clueless about if their game is pc quality, or what upgrades they need, I found this site: http://www.yougamers.com/games/. Check the "game-o-meter" for a particular game to see if your PC can run it. For curiosity's sake, I ran the Orange Box test to see, in case Half Life Ep. 3 doesn't get a 360 release, if my PC could run it, as I expect the system requirements to be about identical. I'd need a new video card although my processor, os, and memory are fine. I also ran the Crysis one. They may as well have played a little digitized laugh at me after I finished running it, though. I went to maybe 70% of the game. I gave up on when I was about to get into the silo and rescue the chick. I just got tired of the game being always the same thing over and over again. Getting to the silo was frustrating enough because it began to get 4-on-1 or 5-on-1. The targeting system was already frustrating when it was 2-on-1, I had enough of it.

    WWE 24/7 October Discussion

The only show I had access to growing up was Superstars and we would get only one three-minutes segment of Raw during the show, so I grew up on squash matches during the mid-90-'s. Even I find that there's some boring squashes in the old NWA shows. Some of them can be pretty good, like Tully's, but I'll take a 20-second Magnum T.A squash with the belly-to-belly over a Ron Bass (for example) squash any day of the week. What makes some squashes more horrible is when David Crocket is the only commentator ( "Look at him........picks him up.......and slams him to the mat....look at him.......arm bar......look at him...") Before Bischoff made him a total shill during the MNW era where everything was the greatest thing ever, Tony Schiavone was a pretty good announcer.

I've bought Breakdown a few weeks back for only 5 bucks from a friend and gave up on it today. I've read it was one of the great sleeper hits for the original XBox but boy does it ever sucks (sorry if you're a fan, just my opinion). The shooting gameplay is bland as hell and its big feature, first-person-fist fights, is fun to play at first but it's just frustrating when you're facing multiples enemies. I don't think I've played a game with a more annoying secondary character. On an good note, I've downloaded the Bioshock demo just to see if my computer could run it. Now I can see why that game gets so much praise, it looks phenomenal.

    WWE 24/7 October Discussion

Since WWE tends to edit any kind of licensed music, I was kind of surprised they left out a small portion of "Highway to Hell" intact in the ECW show for the Dudleys (lawsuit !) There will be more Roundtable shows airing soon, with the panel being Ross, Hayes, Foley, Patterson and Tazz. Don't know what the topics will be time this but it doesn't matter to me since it's not like I can see them anyway.

    WWE 24/7 October Discussion

It's just a shame that we never saw a proper conclusion to it. Raw was good, as it usually was during 1997. It was nice seeing Bret and Owen bury the hatchet after all those years. I never bought into the whole "Bret is using them for selfish purposes." thing....that's why the whole USA vs Canada feud was so great, both camps had perfectly reasonable arguments why their side was the "good" one. Being on Bret's side, I never understood why the hell I should have cheered Shawn Michaels. In hindsight, I can see Austin's view of calling Bret on his bullshit "hero" thing because Bret was doing the same things he accused Austin of doing (attacking people in the back, using weapons and abusive language, etc...) but Shawn Michaels ? I always thought, in my markish point of view, that he had no business being involved in the Undertaker/Bret/Summerslam feud. He named himself referee just to get back into the spotlight since he was the only top player that wasn't doing anything at the time. On a side note, I never knew there was a second verse to the Nation of Domination theme song, I always thought it was over at the "Hope you like ceilings 'cause that's all you're gonna see". Why PG-13 weren't more utilized in the WWF ? I found them to be pretty good in their match against the Dudleys from the ECW PPV earlier this month. Seeing Jesse James singing "With my baby tonight" more than ten years later......how the hell did I ever believed him to be the real singer over Jeff Jarrett ? he was awful !

    Wrestling books

I have received today a confirmation of delivery for both Jericho's and Hart's books. I pre-ordered more than a month ago with amazon.ca and it only costed me a little more than 40, which is a good deal for these two books. I've read that Jericho's book stops at his WWF debut so he will probably do a follow-up when he's done with WWE for good....I don't think WWE would take criticism pretty well since he's coming back. Does Hart's book covers his entire career ? I know there was a plan on him doing his autobiography in three books but I think the idea's been scrapped for quite a while.

Count me in the camp that is disappointed in Nathan losing the hobo beard. Also, Micah's cousin must be the only one who was willing to pay $65 on Wrestlemania 22 only for seeing the Big Show/Kane vs Cartito/Chris Masters match.

    WWE 24/7 October Discussion

I don't want to be like Dave Scherer and his random thoughts at the end of his recaps (does he still do that ?), but this is just some questions and remarks that never warranted a post on their own. Did LaParka ever wore regularly that entrance suit, with the hat and skull belt ? During Psicosis' entrance, there was a wild-cat mascot with shades in the background on the left of the screen....what the hell was that ? DJ Ran's predecessor ? How the hell did Teddy Long passed from being somewhat muscular in the 80's to being fat in the 90's and being skinny as hell in the 00's ? Those people in the crowd at the Sportatorium were hardcore marks, there's heat in every match. For some weird reason, my favorite wrestler in the old World Class shows is Bugsy McGraw. Go Bugsy Go !

That was true last year where the publishers were rushing their games to make it in time with the console launch. You'd think that this year, since they had the whole year to devellop their game , that would be the other way around. First-generation PS2 games sucked hard but they got their stuff right in the 2001 Holiday season. Last 2k game I bought was 2k5 and, save for the usual "100 SOG per game and average score of 6-5 in every game" thing there is every hockey game, it was quite good. However, judging by the reviews of the last few years, it looks like the series took a dive whereas the EA series isn't all about excessive checking and scoring anymore. The 2k game sells at only $20, so it's not like you would lose a lot if you try the game.
