When I read Dean's comments, it sounded like the worst kind of pandering. I can vaguely understand the sentiments. Something like "We need to win back the votes of those proud of their heritage, such as those who still remember the confederancy." I mean I could see that. I think I'm actually more offended by the whole pickup line. Why didn't he just say "I'd like to get the redneck votes, please." I mean, at least then he would have said please. I just don't understand what exactly he was trying to say here...

I don't understand how Apple should be losing money in this. How can the RIAA completely ask for all the money here? Apple is attempting to create a 21st century business model for sharing music. And they're doing it. If it fails because RIAA took too much money out of the system, there's no way they'll ever stop piracy. I guess it all goes to show that the RIAA business model will never work with downloadable music.

Do the hate crime rules apply to non-violent activities? I mean, if someone is constantly threatening someone due to their skin color, can they be put away because it seems that their irrational racial hatred makes them a definite threat to many people? Once violence has been commited I agree that there is always hate involved. Thus adding years for a white person beating a black person is stupid. But what if it's a non-violent crime?

I think he meant that a woman shouldn't have to use a condom if she wants to just use abortions to prevent pregnancy. I know the type, especially the type that sees abortions as intentionally painful in an attempt to coerce women into keeping babies. Since there are supposedly other ways to induce abortions (such as natural herbs and exercises (?) ) that are not painful at all.

Um basically there's no way to prevent the second woman from having an abortion if we allow the first girl to have one. I believe that the first girl deserves the right to save her own life through an abortion. There is no court or judge or jury or whatever that would be fit to judge where the line would have to be drawn. So we as Americans don't put a line down. It's the only way.
