I wanna know if this was intentional or not.

Ew.

So wait, was there ever a consensus as to whether he was using illegal 15 round clips or not? Because, like Ripper said, it's easy enough to charge someone when they're reloading, but not if they have so many bullets. He wouldn't have had to reload but a few times.

But that would never happen, ever. We've had shootings on this campus, and it certainly wasn't locked down. It would be like suing the air force for not shooting down the 9/11 planes after they were highjacked. Minus a bit of hyperbole...

A point was raised on NPR the other day by a police officer. Most people, when confronted with a loaded and pointed gun, EVEN IF THEY HAVE A HOLSTERED WEAPON, will on first instinct, run. So everyone being "armed" might not have been so helpful.

LOL that's true, in Morrowind it's hard to level your speechcraft skill, I kind of forgot about that. I guess you just need a LOT of money and a suitable trainer. Oblivion made speechcraft and lockpicking almost too easy with minigames instead of "rolls"

LOL god bless lawmakers becoming doctors.... (sigh) -
Someone called UMD and said that they had planted a bomb in a book in one of the libraries on campus...... Reminds me of that Speed 2 spoof from the critic (before the actual Speed 2 came out) "If you read less than fifty words per minute, this book will blow up!"

I el oh elled. Tongue in cheek...

Of course people think that. People just cannot understand that Ninty was unprepared for such a demand, and didn't work to set up production for this much demand? That Nintendo probably would have to pay more money to set up whole new production lines?

LOL "Give it time to work!" "There will be good days and bad days" Don't worry, Iraq, this is just one of those "bad days"

Speechcraft was NOT useless. If you don't like talking to people, go play Diablo

Really? I always thought white America had the widest "bubbles" in the world...
-
Of course not. Because we have a horribly impersonal and private culture.

Do whatever you like. Go cross the moat and find a dungeon to explore. Get some swag. I dunno what you class is. If you're a thief, find the Gray Fox and go back into the sewer and start sneaking up into people's basements and stealing all their stuff. Go hunt deer. If you know anything about alchemy you can mix venison with a certain common mushroom for a healing potion... (I could go on.) (and on)

I wonder. I wonder who this kid's parents are? I say kid like he wasn't 23, but he was sure infantile in his people skills. That or unbalanced like I dunno what...
-
Yeah, don't go looking for any conspiricies here. Kid was mad crazy. Reading that stuff, it's pretty clear.

This is no different because there was practically no damage to the campus... Apples and oranges.

More security? I dunno if you've been to some campuses, but they are like small cities, if not large cities. You would need a Mah-hah-assive [/Cox] security force to somehow keep order in this type of setting. I mean for christ's sake, almost everyone on campus has a backpack, you can keep 10 glocks and god knows how many bullets in there. Ultimately it depends on people NOT doing this... What this might do is set up some sort of SMS messaging system to alert students with cellphones to emergencies on campus instead of or along side vague and ambiguous sirens and late emails.

The more guns that are about, the more often these situations are going to come up. That's why we have a 10:1 ratio of these things over here compared to Europe. That being said, the guns are here. If the people in the classroom each had had a pistol of their own, 33 people probably would not have died. I am divided on the issue........
-
Of course. But humans can close distance pretty quick when they want to, he probably would have dropped someone, maybe two people. Then the rest of them would have killed him. Definitely not thirty-something.
-
Doozier than I?
-
I entirely agree that if the entire classroom had rushed him as soon as he raised his gun likely almost no one would have been killed. But humans are not ants or bees, we don't have that hive mindset. We worry about ourselves over almost everyone else...

Again, he probably didn't reload in anyone's presence. And I'm sure that whenever he left people were just praying that he was leaving for good. Apparently (from an eyewitness you may have heard on CNN) he came into a room like twice, just looking around "shadily", came in a third time just in the doorway and started capping people, and then left. He returned again and did the same thing. After he left the second time, those who still could got up and shut the door and tried to lock it, which it wouldn't do, so they tried to barricade the door with their bodies, which worked until he started shooting through the door...
