WWE General Discussion - January 2008
Cheech Tremendous replied to Prophet of Mike Zagurski's topic in The WWE Folder
Isn't WWE in HD like porn in HD? Sounds good on paper until you actually see it up close. As one poster noted above, there are some things you don't want to see in hi-def. -
See kids, this is what happens when you use steroids.

Venkman - I was definitely caught up in the whirlwind of Milky Love the past week, but I've come to the realization that I'm not sure if I can support a guy who has sex with 13-year-olds before threatening to kill them as TSM's best. Highly entertaining, but better left under the radar. Slayer - I enjoy Slayer's brand of posting. He can show in just one sentence how much cooler and more sarcastic he is than me. VX- This was a tough call. Czech's great, but he already won this thing last year and doesn't seem overly interested in repeating. VX brings the heat in the sports folder and has won me over. Alkeiper - Still my favorite poster on the board. I spend ninety percent of my time in the sports folder and in said folder, Al is still king.

As Al pointed out, Arena Football League is a second tier league. Hell, you could count the CFL as well. Q: Not sure this qualifies, but if you possessed the skill level to play a sport professionally, would you rather be the superstar on a perpetually bad team (including the higher salary and media recognition for being a star) or a role player on a championship dynasty (modest salary and playing time with little recognition outside of die-hard fans)? -
I saw his name being attached to Hawaii, but I don't if that was just speculation or based on some actual facts. I'd expect him to get a head coaching gig in college if he wants it. I think blaming the offensive woes on him instead of shit-tastic Vince Young is wrong.

You have a different idea of how things will shake out?

^Took an unexpected turn from baseball maven wielding new age statistics to a pimp waving his internet dick Somewhere around the time when they went from a bunch of guys having fun making fun of bad sportswriting to an entity expected to make fun of bad sportswriting. The self-awareness killed the gimmick... and all the fun. -
TSM Poster Tournament 2008: The Round of 16

No, there are 5,052 people who have to lose. Some people don't even get the privilege on the being in the unlucky 63. Like cabbageboy. -

Why does it not surprise me that Ginger can only find two posters at TSM who have been nice to her in the past? -

That's so retarded. Who in the hell names themselves Do Cock? Especially at this board. I don't know. I find the whole thing very confusing. -

TSM Poster Tournament 2008: The Round of 16

According to board statistics, we have 5,053 registered members. I think we've averaged around 50 votes per round. A 1% voter turnout isn't anything to scoff at. We're lucky many of the posters in the WWE folder are even smart enough to turn on their computer, let alone find this part of the board. -

The cabbageboy thing? Probably not, no. Hey, you know who else wasn't in this that I thought would be in fer sure? vivalaultra and Richard. I had thought about viva, but he hasn't been posting lately. It seems like it's the time of year where he needs to explain why the Astros are set to win 90 games. -

cabbageboy I usually shy away from emoticons, but -
Don't forget about the Reds, and possibly the Cardinals as well. Cincinnati has the prospects to piece together a Colorado/Arizona like run in 2008, provided the bullpen works out its issues. The Cardinals are far more shaky, but are going to have a beastly middle of the order with Pujols, Glaus, Duncan and Ankiel. They could have four guys with 30+ HR each.

Portland, Oregon or Charlotte, North Carolina. Both are large cities with growing populations that have shown the ability to support pro franchises. I worry a bit about Portland being able to draw significantly without severely damaging the viability of the Mariners though. I don't think that the '72 team would have a shot in hell at beating today's Dolphins. The NFL, more than any other sport today, is a game of technology and quick evolution. The speed of the game, size of the players and preparation of the coaching staff would give a huge advantage to the modern game. I would choose the latter, and as a fan of the Red Sox, I thought I would be resigned to that fate before 2004. Part of the beauty of being a fan is that renewable hope that this year is the year. A team that is constantly awful is hard to root for. Question: What is the worst organization in sports, from top to bottom? That includes everything, from ownership, front office, management and fans to on the field success, team history and facilities. -
Jason Garrett has been offered the head coaching position with the Baltimore Ravens. He may have already accepted, depending on the validity of some sources out there. I wonder how this "offensive genius" will fare in Baltimore.

I can't see them being any good at all, especially if Huston Street and Joe Blanton are shipped out (and the returns are prospects and not young or underperforming big leaguers). This isn't exactly like the 2006 Marlins, wherein there was a massive fire sale but the returns had the squad busting at the seams with talent ready to break out. The A's rebuilding is much more deliberate. Beane didn't see a contending team and realized that there was no chance of rebuilding from within and rebuilt with an eye towards quantity over quality.

Obviously you haven't heard any of 50 Cent or Wyclef's new material.
