Umbrella's not really as good of a song as past "hey we like pop music too!" inclusions. I mean, it's all right, but it's not on the level of, like, "My Love" or "Hey Ya." It seems like they just said, "Well, it was the biggest pop song of the year. Guess we better put it in the top 5!" It's not even the best "mainstream" song on the list.

I take back what I said here. After a few more listens the second half has revealed itself to be just about on par with the first. Even the RZA song isn't the total embarrassment I first thought it was.

That's some pretty impressive sentence construction.

I think the best outcome of this would be that somebody from YTMND discovers it and tries to capitalize on FTW Moving like they did with ORLY Moving, but this wouldn't end up being funny. After reading this I decided to look through their website, where I stumbled across this gem:

I don't know if I've ever heard an album with a bigger drop-off in quality between the first and second halves than the new Wu-Tang Clan. The first 7-8 tracks are brilliant and probably about as close as we're ever going to come to hearing 36 Chambers-level shit again. Then all of a sudden there's this totally embarassing RZA solo cut and the whole thing just completely falls apart.

Has anyone here had any contact with Anthony Powell? I think I want to read A Dance to the Music of Time but I'm not sure I want to invest my money/time in another multi-volume novel that I might only sorta enjoy (shout out to Marcel Proust).
