The only VU album that I ever seem to find myself going back to anymore is the third one. VU & Nico never impressed me much beyond a few songs, White Light/White Heat is something I appreciate more than I enjoy, and Loaded's plenty nice and all but I just never really feel an urge to listen to it.

Sometimes I'll be about to post something in the music folder but then just as I'm about to click the Add Reply button I'll pause and think, "But what if Incandenza doesn't approve of my tastes? Finished this. My initial reaction ("nothing earth-shattering, but nice enough") turned out to be a little off the mark as the book wound up being way better than "nice enough" (though still not quite earth-shattering). After the first hundred or so pages a lot of the forced quirkiness that I found grating started to drop away and was replaced by some really great writing and a genuinely intriguing plot.
