High Energy! Plus Koko B. Ware was really really over. Who's going to induct Koko B. Ware? Big Bird?
-
Vince wants to treat his HoF with some measure of legitimacy and the current inductees make it a fairly credible HoF, despite a couple of glaring omissions. And while there have been some questionable additions in the early days, over the last few years for almost every inductee there's been a good argument for putting them in, even kayfabe ones. With Koko, you can't even do that. I can't remember Koko B. Ware getting a major push in the ol'WWF, pretty much ever. Hillbilly Jim would have a better argument to make the Hall for crying out loud.

WWE General Discussion - March 2009
Celtic Guardian replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
Just my speculation but it could be a European deal like a lot of other ex-WWE/WCW wrestlers have done. -
I though the primary reason was to promote Kane's movie showing on Sci Fi. Getting to squash Boogeyman out was an added bonus.
-
WWE put the Boogeyman entry up earlier on a different URL, then pulled it. He's still gone.
-
Benjamin has also lost though to Mr. Kennedy, MVP, Chavo Guerrero, R-Truth & Hurricane Helms among others, all in non-title matches. It's the same "challenger beats heel champion in non-title match" booking pattern repeated over and over to the point of farce.

Redskins release Jason Taylor, one year and out.
-
And the Redskins will cut Shawn Springs to clear the cap space, now confirmed.

Great vid for the wrong audience. It reminded me of something we'd see for an athlete in the WNBA or some other women's sports league. The problem is that the typical wrestling fan doesn't like women's sports and has learned to turn away from that kind of appeal.

Paul London blasts Hardy, HHH, McMahon, Bourne, Kidman and Brother Ray
Celtic Guardian replied to Thanks for the Fish's topic in The WWE Folder
I have a problem with London coming off like he could do no wrong. Circumstances didn't make London smirk during the Vince McMahon death walk. Circumstances didn't make London squeal about Ashley being on Survivor. Being a great wrestler doesn't make London a better man or a smarter one. -
Since none of us can mind read Dixie Carter's father, there's no way to know whether TNA will survive '09 or not. Assuming the PPV buyrate plunge takes TNA back out of profitability though, Panda Energy execs will no doubt want to reevaluate its status.
-
They should just call it the annual ECW rape and pillage. Christian, Miz/Morrison (though seriously do they even count as ECW anymore?), Swagger, Bourne and a couple others will probably be gone. Boogeyman for ECW Champion! I tend to believe Smackdown will lose big here. MyNetworkTV going to mostly reruns has to give a cold shiver to WWE.

Jericho mobbed by fans, hits woman

Jericho mobbed by fans, hits woman
Celtic Guardian replied to Celtic Jobber's topic in The WWE Folder
If these vids gets play outside wrestling fandom on TMZ or a similar site, they could be a big problem. Regardless of justification, mainstream viewers would still have a problem with Jericho clocking a woman. -
Swagger's first singles lost, yes. First televised singles loss, anyway.

Mike Knox has been added to the Raw brand Elimination Chamber, per house show qualifier. http://www.wwe.com/shows/nowayout/exclusives/9265678 -
From the "what took so long" file: Hardcore Holly released.
-
By itself, no. If Jericho is aligned as a surrogate for Mr. McMahon, maybe. The Austin/McMahon rivalry was the real big money feud during Austin's career. If that dynamic can be revived to gain more heat on Jericho, it could work.

This day, there are no lifers.

I imagine a little less with each passing week. Kozlov has just deflated.

WWE General Discussion - December 2008
Celtic Guardian replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
Or a Smackdown one. The only good for me in this is Katie Lea getting to work the Smackdown women since ECW has "talent exchanges" with both other brands. As for Paul Burchill, he was screwed when forced to drop the pirate shtick. He doesn't have much upside left in WWE without it. -
Barring a new agreement or extension, the literal start of the new year. That would mean no TNA Impact on Time Warner systems starting this week.

The senate would simply refuse to seat whoever he appoints (if he actually decides to be a petulant dumbass and make an appointment out of spite). Well, score one vote for petulant dumbass. Blagojevich to appoint former state AG Roland Burris to the U.S. Senate as Obama's successor, universal condemnation be damned. http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/12/30/illinois.senate/

Just to settle one more dispute, the Observer/Figure 4 site finally acknowledged that the injury is real. -

And it worked wonders for her the last time it happened. To be fair, one can only wrestle Victoria, Ivory, Jazz and Jacqueline so many times before it gets old, especially considering only two of them were anything close to competent workers. Gail Kim wasn't a known commodity at the time, plus she proved prone to mistakes/snafus in her early WWE matches. Both problems have since been corrected.
