The Worst Wrestling Show of All-Time
strummer replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in General Wrestling
I've been to about 10 WWE house shows and none of them were actively bad . The worst one I attended was probably in 1995 which featured Shawn/Diesel v Men on a Mission and Bret/Lafitte on top. But Rad Radford wrestled twice. And there was a Tony Devito match I will say that other than Bret/Shawn, Sunny was the most over person on the card and played babyface to the crowd by pandering and waving (which was probably an ad lib as she was heel at the time)I actually felt sorry for Candido as no one cared about him. The crowd was pathetic, especially for Albany which always seems to draw well for the company. Well it was was 1995 Card: WWF @ Albany, NY - Knickerbocker Arena - August 13, 1995 (4,000) Skip pinned Bob Holly when the momentum of a crossbody off the top rope by Holly put Skip on top Rad Radford pinned Tony Devito with a norhtern lights suplex Adam Bomb pinned Rad Radford (sub. for an injured Henry Godwinn) The Blu Twins defeated Lex Luger & Davey Boy Smith Hunter Hearst Helmsley pinned the 1-2-3 Kid with the Pedigree WWF World Champion Diesel & WWF IC Champion Shawn Michaels defeated Men on a Mission when Diesel pinned Sir Mo with the powerbomb Razor Ramon defeated Psycho Sid via disqualification when Ted Dibiase interfered Savio Vega (sub. for Bam Bam Bigelow) defeated Tatanka in a strap match Bret Hart pinned Jean Pierre Laffiette with a roll up -
game winning run on 3 BB's and a HBP. "Don't throw a strike until you have to"
-
well they're going with Cena/HHH at NOC. I thought they would save that for Summerslam

That's it, Rick Peterson needs to be fired. This "don't throw strikes until you have to" bullshit is killing the careers of Perez and Maine. Teams are just waiting them out until they get a pitch and then are mashing them There's no way the Mets are re-signing Perez. I bet Boras will still get a good deal for him

I actually rented this on VHS back in the early 90s and remember fast forwarding through most of it. This was obviously during my mark days. I think I rented this and halloween havoc 90 and just mainly watched HH

Wagner's numbers so far this season are just unspeakably insane. I know he won't keep it up but he's on pace for maybe the best season out of a relief pitcher all time. Al?

Stephanie Wiand and Todd Pettengil will phone the lucky viewer live on air!

Did Katie call Kennedy "Sweet Ass"? and I guess Regal forgave Burchill for making him wear a dress on Smackdown back in 06

The Mariners can do absolutely nothing right. Thanks for getting the Yankees hot again you pricks

Just watched the tape and during Piper/Orndorff watch the ref totally no sell Piper's punch! He just shrugs it off and keeps on yelling at Piper and Orton. Also, Gorilla forgets the names of the British Bulldogs during their run in.

Ryan Church just hit one into Reggie Jackson territory. Damn that was a bomb

Uneven show to end an uneven season
-
It's like old times at Shea as Billy Wagner went over management's head to ownership to make sure Joe Smith was not sent down. Minaya wanted to send down Smith and keep Jorga Sosa (who was DFA'd) Of course Wagner was right but it's the same old shit Leiter and Franco pulled. This should be a real fun rest of the season. Wagner snapped at the press post game and went to the "The Latin players can speak English too" deal

So I see Molly Shannon's new sitcom was picked up by NBC (Kath and Kim). It will co-star Selma Blair. No way that show lasts a full season. I like Selma but Molly is just not suited for episodic TV. She's tolerable in sketches in short bursts but no way in a show centered around her.

In 8th grade we had this ex Green Bay Packer from the 60s championship teams give a motivational speech and tell us to not drink or do drugs. He was so depressing that he just sucked the life right out of the auditorium. He was a recovering alcholic, his sister and father were both alcholics who committed suicide and his son was hooked on drugs. Do this day I question the point of it as he just basically told his life story with every grim detail and gave no advice or motivation whatsoever.

I'm with you Smues, 7th and 8th grade (which were two years in middle school) were the two worst years of my life, BY FAR. I don't want to even recall any memories as they bring back nothing but pain. I will agree with what Jingus said in the elementary school thread, I cannot, under any circumstances, trust anyone who said they liked middle school.

a few off the top of my head. In 5th grade this kid Keith was picking on this other kid named Peter about his grandmother dying (we were real nasty) Without hesitation Pete kicks him square in the nuts with a direct hit, right on target. Keith screams in pain while the rest of the class roars in laughter. Our history teacher, Mr. Hartnett had to take Keith into the bathroom and check his balls to see if he was bleeding. I will never, ever forget this. This same kid, Keith sliced open his arm trying to climb a chain link fence during recess. An ambulance came and we got the rest of the day off. He actually walked right by me with blood just gushing from his arm. There was a retarded kid in our school so one day his family came and talked to each individual class about what it meant to be retarded or something and that we shouldn't call anyone a "retard" I remember trying to hold back laughter when she was giving this speech. I mean I was dying to laugh. We were rehearsing for the class musical one day when this girl named Karen blew a bubble about the size of her head and everyone just suddenly stopped and watched her. The music teacher, Mr's Dean, who I had never really seen get angry just lost it on her for disrupting the class and the two screamed at each other until the practice was cancelled. My second grade teacher was in a car accident during lunch and hurt her neck quite badly and we had a substitute for the rest of the day and I believe for the next 2 weeks. One nun kicked a student right in the ass for setting off a fire alarm (it was Keith, again)

It's becoming clear that the Mets need to make a change in their regime. The Randolph/Peterson/Minaya trio had their chance in 06 but came up a game short. They were the best team in the NL and didn't win. That happens. It's baseball. But it's clear that they are no where near that level anymore. They are regressing. If the Mets don't make the playoffs this year, Randolph is going to be fired. That's certain. However, during the season I would like to see Peterson go. His hackneyed philosophy of "Don't throw a strike until you *absolutely* have to" on pitching has gotten around the league. It's why Met starters have 110 pitches by the 5th inning and the bullpen is overused. It's why Aaron Heilman is 3-2 on every hitter and is afraid to challenge hitters with his fastball. Two years ago hitters were swinging at the pitches out of the zone but now they're taking them and mashing the ball when they get ahead in the count. The team's overall pitching numbers might not look that bad but again it's caused an absurdly high pitch count for the starters. The offense is maddening at times. Sometimes they show some semblance of plate discipline and at others they just go up there hacking. The complete lack of power so far is also alarming. I don't know if any of what I just typed made any sense. Just had to get that rant out.

Buzz Bissinger apparently made a fool of himself on "Costas on Sports" tonight on HBO. He was ranting and raving against bloggers and internet sites with the typical rhetoric. Chris Russo was on and suprise came off as a retarded goof (well he is one) Michael "Ken Tremenous" Schur was also on. I don't get HBO anymore so I missed out. Anyone see this?

I actually kind of liked that when WCW used to do that with their PPV's in the early 90s. Executive Producer: Virgil Runnels
