That was an awesome heel beatdown to end the show. And F'N Tony Garea is back in the company?
-
The playcalling was atrocious as they tried running the ball at the goal line and kept getting nothing. Eli doesn't call the plays. Both of Eli's picks were tipped.
-
I wouldn't put the blame on Eli today. The 2 INT's were tipped at the line. It was the Giants defense that cost them the game as they let Garcia look like Joe Montana in his prime. I'm not saying that Garcia didn't play well today (and the last month) but the Giants have a habit of making average players look like All Pros. I swear Brian Westbrook does very little against other teams (well maybe until this year) but he absolutely kills the Giants. Even after today if the Giants win their next 2 games, they're in the playoffs

Alvarez on F4W:

yes that was my point. Yes I understand that Gus hired non-actors to give it a realistic feel, but it didn't work IMO
-
Yes, the idea of the movie is that it is a "slice of life" with realistic mundane events occurring in a stream of consciousness type way. It's supposed to show us how random life is that a huge massacre can occur unexpectedly like that in the middle of the daily grind. That's great and interesting, but the acting is so bad in this movie that the audience is not able to emotionally connect with the story. I applaud the idea but the execution was weak.

I just recently started visiting Kayfabe memories again and it's the same old same old, with NWA marks flaming and baiting posters in the WWF 83-89 forum. Now I know why I left in the first place.

I remember watching this movie with my brother last year and him responding "What the hell is this?" "Is this even a movie?" This is an awful, AWFUL movie, a total masturbatory vehicle for Gus Van Sandt. The acting was embarrassing (expected considering the kids weren't even actors). Total amateur hour with some of the kids clearly looking off camera for direction or prompting. Both of the shooters basically mumble incoherently through the film, sounding more like Beavis and Butthead than professionals. Just awful

Anyone else notice that ESPN has been assigning "win-loss" records to QBs lately? ala a starting pitcher in baseball (which is a worthless stat to begin with) Yes because defense, offense line, skill positions and special teams have nothing to do with winning a football game, it's all the hands of Bruce Gradkowski. LAME. I'm sure the Bears are 10-2 because of Rex Gros... oh wait.

Gary Carter has left the Mets organization after being passed over for the 1st base coach job (to Howard Johnson) and his unwillingness to manage the Mets AA Binghamton club due to the long bus rides buggering his knees. I was hoping Carter would make it to the big club one day as he was one of my favorite players as a kid.

According to Meltz, the mutants aren't too happy that Sabu is out of the main
-
BYE BYE Sabu. Nice job of blowing the biggest push of your career. about ten years after you really meant something

The Jets remaining home games should be easy (Bills, Raiders) but playing at the Dolphins and even at the Vikings won't be easy. If they can steal one on the road and win their home games, they probably make it.

If Heyman were booking, this match would get 30+ minutes

I'm not real big on coaches having a real impact in sports, but Coughlin has to go. I have no idea who could fix this mess, but he has to go. The Giants are very conservative when it comes to making coaching changes (keeping Ray Handley for a second year, Reeves hanging on, let's not even talk about the 70s) so I dont expect anything to be done. The scary thing is that with the NFC being so horrible, they are still right in the middle of the playoff hunt. There is a good chance an 8-8 team will make the playoffs in the NFC this year.

And that should about do it for Arkansas

Jack quit the company very early on in the run because of the hectic travel schedule. Same reason Barry Windham and Terry Funk left

According to ESPN News, through Gammons, the Mets and Tom Glavine have agreed to a one-year contract worth $11 million with an option for the following season.
-
According to the Mets sites I visit (reliable sources, I've posted them here before and they are usually right), Tom Glavine has turned down the Mets offer and will be returning to the Braves.

The AWA DVD is fantastic. Who ever produced the opening with that music and Verne's voice over needs a raise pronto. It was chilling it was so good. One of the best pieces the company has ever done

For once Mike and the Mad Dog (and their listeners) had it right. Jeter should have been MVP. Of course they had all the wrong reasons why (clutch, intangibles, "heart and soul")
