Torrie's milkers have shrunken big time with the weight loss. OK, everybody get ready for the Trish run in.

just a squash for Cena

Astros call up Scott Strickland. He will be pitching in the Major Leagues for the first time in 3 years due to Tommy John surgery. That's a hella long time between gigs.

great now we're going to have to deal with all the "Notre Dame is Back!!" talk for at least the next week. That's my MAIN problem with football analysts, they freaking jump on a team after a week or 2 of good play. It happens all the time in the NFL and now in NCAA. It's the product of only playing 1 game a week unlike the other sports where there is obviously more of a sample.

The October WWE pay-per-view No Mercy will be headlined by Batista versus Eddie Guerrero and will also feature a handicap match with Randy & Bob Orton verses The Undertaker. Rajah via the Torch Newsletter Poor Ace, Undertaker had to get his win back but they don't want to job Randy.

Tom Glavine has had 8 straight starts giving up 2 runs or less. His record in that time frame, 3-4 with 1 ND.
-
Tom Glavine may be the most unlucky pitcher in the game. He has pitched MUCH better than his record would indicate. Look for the Mets to fall out of the race with a 10 game road trip coming up in FLA, ATL, and STL.

Austin was a much much better draw than Flair. Flair's drawing ability started to stall around 1987 due to Dusty's booking. The Flair/Steamboat program in 89 didn't draw at all. He did have some successful programs with Funk, Luger, etc, and later on in the 96-98 boom years but he wasn't a consistent draw after 87/88. I always saw Austin as the heir apparent to Hogan because of the main stream exposure and incredibly drawing power

I don't know why everyone is so shocked over the CCC/Masters pushes. They love Masters look and they think Carlito is a great talker. They aren't going away, in fact it's just the beginning. And both are more over than some young guys they've tried to push in the past. As for the show, I liked it. The announcing was MUCH MUCH better than usual. As Hartfan said, they must have shot the show differently. Everything looked fresh and new even though they recycled a couple of angles.

I think the Mets offensive purge is over as they've scored 5 runs in their last 3 games and lose 2-1 to the Giants. Tom Glavine with another hard luck loss.

Supply and Demand V 2.0?

I see Vince is already "getting back" at UPN with making an angle out of their problems with the Hassan deal

I watched this PPV with Dangerous_A, Darthtiki, Ced, and another former TSM poster, and DA has it right, all of us at the house were kind of miffed at the beyond stupid overselling HBK was doing through the entire match, and it really hurt the match IMO. It seemed apparent someone was pissed off about the match, the finish, the payoff, or something because HBK was overdoing it and acting like a jackass through the entire match. Not to say the fact that Hogan's in-ring ability also probably severly hampered what HBK could normally do in the ring, but it just seemed obvious HBK was mad about something that night. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The match so reminded me of Hogan/Mr Perfect from SNME in 1990 with Hennig doing 360 bumps off of Hogan's punches. That's the most I've seen Shawn oversell since the Survivor Series match with Sid in 96.

From Meltzer's update: --The talk backstage last night is that tonight's Raw would be Chris Jericho's farewell for now. We don't have that confirmed as 100%
-
Accoding to Meltzer's update today, tonight is Jericho's farewell from the company. I wonder if he gets a respectful send off or a total bury job. I'm betting on the latter.

LOL Hogan couldn't get his leg up for the big boot!!

The thing about Rob is that his peers obviously find him funny. Sandler, Norm, Farley, Spade all love(d) the guy and think he's hilarious. The problem is that it must not translate into being funny in public. I've never been a fan, even back to the copy man bits from 1990. All his bits on SNL were lame. I really can't believe Julia Sweeney dated this guy. Although they might have gotten along, both being equally unfunny.

There were so many squash matches that you were DYING to see a competitive match. That is why I used to go ape shit when Rick Martel would wrestle Haku or Rick Rude would wrestle Koko B Ware on the Prime Time Main Event. House Shows used to be more important than TV. I remember the crowd going crazy for people like Hercules simply because all wrestlers were portrayed as stars as a result of no one (not even mid carders) doing jobs on TV. Wins and Losses used to mean so much more, which is weird because the company has always publicly stated win and losses don't matter.

Tomorrow night in Albany. My first WWE show since Dec. 98.
-
at least they have Number 1 Contender matches to create title matches. In the 80s it was just popular face gets a shot at the IC Title or big fat heel gets shot at Hogan
-
that sounds like an awful lot to squeeze on to a 2 hour show, something's getting cut

The crowd going apeshit during the opening tag and the dead crowd in the Venis/Conway match proves that even in this day and age fans will respond to pushed wrestlers more and will shit on wrestlers who have no direction or focus (no matter how talented). Vince was probably creaming himself at the heat Masters got.
