Let's Talk About... The Apter Mags

The first image that comes to mind when thinking of the mark mags is the famous photo of Kamala's spear with Hulk Hogan's head through it from 1986. I remember seeing it in the checkout line at some discount store and being suprised since Hogan and Kamala had no interaction on TV. Before I came online I used to buy PWI regularly (from maybe 91-95). I used to love it when they would throw it some smart tidbits like the Rockers winning the tag belts and it not being recognized and that Vince McMahon had a meeting with the clique at a house show. It's also where I found out that Goldust was Dustin Rhodes. I remember reading that the Beverly Brothers were penciled in for a tag title run in the early 90s. I have no idea if that story was valid or not. I always loved them trying to make sense of the WWF rankings because the company never really acknowledged the IC champ as the number one contender (yet PWI did for some reason) The arena results were great and sometimes suprising like them harping on Sid jobbing to Bob Holly at a house show in 95 (they always hated Sid) In retrospect they were clearly biased against the WWF but as a mark I couldn't tell and really didn't care because it was entertaining.

    The Old School questions thread

ECW was on MSG right until the company folded. I actually have the last MSG show on tape somewhere with a main event of Jerry Lynn vs Joey Matthews! It came back on in 99 but it was off the Network for most of 1998 ( at least in my market)

    The Old School questions thread

Anyone know why ECW TV was taken off the MSG Network in early 1998?

2008 ALCS: Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays

yeah people are really underestimating the Phillies. Their lineup is lethal and they have a solid pen

    SNL - Josh Brolin/Adele

Clinton's first term was rather boring though. A lot of it had to do with the people on the show (Farley, Sandler, etc) not excelling at political satire and because it was just uneventful (Gennifer Flowers wasn't a real big deal and most of the material centered around Clinton dealt with him being fat) 1996-2000 was comedic gold though and Darell Hammond ruled it. They had Hartman though, who was great. But 94-95 wasn't about political satire, it was about pissing off Garafalo and seeing what show could be the least funny. Yeah he was but it was mostly in 91-92 with the 3 way race/debate material Once Clinton took office there was very little material. The show wasn't really about political satire at the time though it was about appealing to teenagers. and I bet nobody remembers Michael McKean playing him in 94-95. They only did a handful of Clinton sketches that year

John Kruk on BTN spouting some nonsense how the Red Sox are now better for the future because they play small ball and don't rely on the 3 run homer anymore

That was such a terrible AB by Lowrie there. Pitcher on the ropes and he swings at a pitch way out of the zone and flies out to shallow left.

  20. new Norm show? It’s been a while since you’ve starred in a TV series. Do you see yourself doing a TV show again? I’m going to do a TV series on FX. It’s called “The New Norm MacDonald” show. It’s a new kind of show. What is the show going to be about? I can’t tell you because it’s never been done before. It’s very hard to describe, actually. It would be close to “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” or something like that. about time

    South Park: Season 12

Enjoyed tonight's show because it was an episode where they actually acted like kids. There weren't any unbelievable jokes but I liked that almost the entire episode took place at the school in "real time" Loved the reference to 3 O'Clock High as I loved that movie growing up. I have no idea if anyone in Trey's family has breast cancer but the show came off as sort of a tribute. I was thinking maybe to Christina Applegate but it could have been a general theme.

    WWE SmackDown - October 17, 2008

I guess this is another step in Khali turning face but he's playing heel in the Jackass feud. and Kendrick is seemingly being put in the JTTS role while Zeke gets a semi push squashing lower midcarders

Finlay has a legit shot of beating Bourne in the voting They clearly want Henry to win but heels never win the voting (other than Miz last year)
