  1. I think this all boils down to the fact that Brock just doesn't really like or enjoy pro-wrestling. IMO, fans want the workers to feel the same passion they have for the business. People killed Goldberg for years for the same thing.
  2. After reading all the posts I'm going to guess it's Val Venis and he's having an affair with either Maria or Christy. Val is a jobber, but he has tenure (7 full years with the company) and I think he would be comfortable with going in and talking directly to Vince
  3. The Powers of Pain/Demolition double turn at Survivor Series 88. Crowd had no idea what was going on and sort of just gave up trying to figure anything out. Also have to add Brian Pillman's debut in ECW. The crowd popped huge for him and then when he started to call them "smart marks" and the like, they just died like that. It was the quietest I've ever heard the ECW arena. Just great stuff to start out a great year for ECW.
  4. I actually liked Letterman as host in 95. He actually did something different and it was great IMO. I think the Academy wants someone to kiss everybody's ass like Billy Crystal or Whoopi Goldberg. I've never laughed at anything Whoopi Goldberg has ever done, NOT ONCE, yet she is somehow Hollywood "elite" Billy Crystal is funny when he's doing his real act, but modifies it for talk shows and the Oscars and comes off as a kiss ass.
  5. Booker v Heidenreich at NWO? What great build!!
  6. from an interview with a Cleveland Sports Outlet: SHOW: You know what, I'm gonna tell you something. Brock, listen to me because I'm telling you the truth from the heart - I'm pissed at you. I did a lot for him when I came over to Smackdown. I worked hurt with herniated discs in my back, chewing vicodins like they were M&Ms just so I could stand up straight and get to the ring, to do my match, to take an F-5 or a belly-to-belly or whatever I had to do to get him over, because he was gonna be our man. Whatever got in his head, to turn his back, which he did, on a multi-million dollar contract, had everything he wanted, EVERYTHING HE WANTED, and he got it fast. Great work ethic, tremendous in the ring, a natural at understanding psychology, executing moves and just being a freak of nature in the ring. Brock was all that and a bag of chips, there's no doubt about it. To see him go pull some goofball stunt and go play football, it really showed a tremendous amount of lack of respect to the guys in the locker room because when we needed him... BELFI: He wasn't there. SHOW: I had to have knee surgery. I had worn my kneecap down to the bone and when Brock left I had to work an extra two months so I could get somebody over, I don't know who it was, (John Cena laughs) so I could leave to go get knee surgery. He dumped all that on everybody. Just the attitude of he wants this, he wants that, he only wants to work a certain amount of dates. Honestly, my personal opinion, hey we had a great run with him, and we don't need him. We can work around him. To give him the red carpet treatment again, hell no.
  7. No women to work programs with, and forced to put over Christy Hemme's new Playboy spread. With Christy getting the Playboy push, wouldn't suprise me if they have her go over Trish.
  8. Mets sign Todd Van Poppel to a minor league deal
  9. well SD has Weds. through Sat. off while Raw has Tues to Sat. off. Since they barely have house shows on Friday anymore for Raw, maybe that's why.
  10. Francessa is good, but he also is married to the "Clutch" theory in sports. But he's better than Russo
  11. I wonder how H feels about Bradshaw outdrawing him in some PPV's and House Shows?
  12. Mike Greenberg when he tries to talk about anything other than basketball, he sounds ridiculous and it makes the show really hard to listen to. I like Chris Russo, but he loses me when he's talks about "intangibles" Apparently Steve Nash is a great player because he has "intangibles" Tony Womack is a "Winning player" Stephon Marbury isn't great because he doesn't "make other players around him great" Rome when ever he goes on some moral tirade. Then he has the guy he was ripping on the show, and kisses his ass.
  13. I don't think Shawn will ever move to SD. He's gone on record saying he prefers Raw because it allows him more time to be with his family. With the clout he has, I don't think he's going anywhere. I would love to see it though.
  14. On WOL, he begrudgingly made a case for Backlund. I heard it. Dave for whatever reason doesn't like Backlund at all. His thesis for putting him in the HOF was "well, he's been around so long" "I didn't think he was great, but I changed my mind" He was almost making Backlund look bad by having sympathy for him rather than praising him for having legit credentials. Which is just as bad a burying someone, IMO, of course
  15. This is true, unless your name is Bob Backland, who Dave still takes shots at today for some reason. This is a clear example where Dave made someone he didn't like look bad.
  16. Alabama Slam-----> Holly Wins
  17. Bob Costas and Tony Kubek Vin Scully and Joe Garagiola Dick Endberg and Dan Dierdorff Sam Rosen and John Davidson Sean McDonough and Bob Montgomery I'm the biggest Mets fan in the world, but their announcers have pretty much sucked since day one. Gary Cohen and Howie Rose are very good on the radio, although Rose's lack of enthusiasm brings them down sometimes
  18. looks like she's had those bad boys reduced since this movie came out.
  19. Angle and Dawn? Doesn't Kurt have a stripper wife?
  20. HHH-Rock Hogan-Savage Undertaker-Mick Foley
  21. That's what I was thinking CC, why so cryptic?, but it is Keller.
  22. Saw this at rajah, who got it from the Torch: -John Laurenaitis has gotten a lot of heat backstage and most recently for stepping in on a personal matter between a married wrestler and a female worker in WWE. Apparently Laurenaitis felt it was his position to step in and by doing so created more tension. He threatened to break the pair up and move them to separate brands and also said the wrestler wouldn’t be allowed to leave his wife. The wrestler then went to Vince McMahon to complain about Laurenaitis interfering with personal matters. Very cryptic. My guess would be Dawn, who was rumored to be cheating on Simon Diamond, causing them to end their long standing relationship.
  23. Mets sign Jose Rosado to a MLC as a gift to Carlos Beltran, who is best friends with Rosado. Here we go again with politics. Only a minor deal, but politics have hurt the Mets in the past, Joe McEwing anybody? Thanks Franco and Leiter for getting "Super" Joe an extension.
  24. Even as a 7 year old, I had high expectations for the Bulldogs as champs, and it was SO disappointing. It was a mixture of incredibly bad luck and some pretty ineffective booking(although it was primarily the fault of the product at the time). I've heard that Vince didn't get behind the Bulldogs as champs, because they spent too much time in Japan, thus the weak reign for Davey and Dynamite.
