Orton had a very good match with Hogan on the Memorial Day edition of Superstars in May 1987. One of the best Hogan matches I've ever seen

well, there were very few "great matches" in WWF during this time period, so I don't know if it will appeal to smarks. I think they are selling it as historic footage for newer fans and nostalgia for older fans Heenan stuff looks great I would love this stuff, but I'm a huge mark for 80s WWF, so I'm kinda biased

For those asking about Trish, here's an update:

Meltzer is going to throw a fit over how they used Puder
-
I see Gerwirtz is creaming himself getting to write backstage skits for his favorite guys on both brands.

is the casket the huge black one they used in the down period or a regular air tight one?

Because HHH just won the title 2 weeks ago and isn't jobbing it back so soon. JBL is already advertised with Big Show for the ME of No Way Out. And I'm just assuming they do the right thing and have Batista win the Rumble. They could swerve however, but I don't see it.
-
If Snitsky costs Taker the Casket match and the World Title matches go as planned, that means the heels will be 4 for 4 going to the Rumble match. They are really banking on Batista sending the crowd home happy if that is the case.

Management and most of the wrestlers seem to love Kane but he has only got minor praise from the internet fans. In fact, Chris Jericho called him one of his best friends in the business and loved working with him. Undertaker loves him. X-Pac just said he loved working with him also.

Had to go to FYE, Best Buy is way out of the way where I live. FYE is always packed full when I'm there. The check out girl actually said I got a good deal, since Andre is a legend and all

Just picked it up for $11.99 at FYE

Do you see David Wright as being a future star?

I seriously doubt that. I'll give Vince credit for being a great promoter, but there's no way he'd know what the reaction would be from the fans. Its not like was sitting around thinking to himself "Wow, I really need to do something that'll usher in the Attitude Era." The idea was to create controversy, which is essentially what the Attitude Era was about. The product was headed in a new direction and this was the final nail in the coffin for the "new generation era". I think Vince knew that scewing one of his biggest stars at the time would create controversy and interest, maybe not at the absurd level it turned out to be in the long run, but he knew it would get people talking.

yeah, Sierra slugged .456 last year, but had an abysmal .296 OBP. Still people were throwing in the NY media how "clutch" he was last year and that he was " a team player"
-
Al, don't try to tell Yankee fans about the flaws of Reuben Sierra, they will just reply with how "clutch" he is.

As for Montreal, it turned out to be the best non-worked work in wrestling history, if that makes any sense. Vince did it to create controversy and help usher in the Attitude era, and on that level, it was a smashing success. It had nothing to do with "time honored tradition", it was just a way to spark interest and establish the attitude era out of the gate.
