Vikings win 27-16 over Jags
-
I think there is some validity to that X, it's like the NFL has decided "This is the Eagles year, by hook or by crook"
-
The Giants have probably been the most mistake prone Team in the NFL since 2001. To think this team in the 80s and early 90s was probably known as the most disciplined on field team in the league (along with the 49ers and Redskins maybe), and now they turn the ball over at will and commit SO MANY dumb penalties. And it's 27-6 Eagles
-
I think you are thinking of Cena's Writer, Kahran
-
Eagles pulling away 20-6, I swear to God , does Brian Westbrook play well against any other team than the Giants? He kills them, and yet seems to do very little against anyone else.
-
Looks to be the end of Butch Davis in Cleveland, I'm getting a Jim Fassell/2003 Giants vibe with the Browns. They seem to not want to play for him anymore.

WWE News and Notes from 11/29 Observer
strummer replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
Tod Gordon would disagree. Meltzer was really harsh on ECW on over the years, a little too much so on occasion. I think the deal was Dave loves Cornette and Cornette hates Heyman, so Dave was always hard on ECW. He used to pimp the hell out of SMW, IIRC, not suprisingly since we all know who was booker there. -
I've watched the WrestleWar match at least a half a dozen times in the past year (it's on HHH's DVD and Flair's) and I just can't get into it. The 2/3 falls Clash match is another story, just tremendous.
-
so the best bookers are the ones who essentially do nothing? The ones that say "Go have a good match"?

Mike Redmond signs with the Twins to be their backup catcher. Sadly for Redmond, this means he will not be able to hit against Tom Glavine anymore.

In 1992? Yes, 1992 was the worst year financially in WWF history

WWF 86-88. The period where Orndorff turned on Hogan till Summerslam 88 where Hogan and Andre finally ended their feud. This period was the peak of my markness, and where I became a die hard fan that couldn't miss a show. Favorite years for me watching wrestling WWF 89-91 I still watched but the booking became so complacent and repetitive, that I kind of the lost the passion for a little while WWF 92 is probably the second greatest period for me as a fan, Flair, Bret, Hogan Piper, Savage, just the incredible star power on the roster that year. Although the company did horrible business this year, it was one of my favorites. WWF 93-97. I seemed like the only person at school that still watched wrestling during this time. Not a great time to be a fan, but I still got psyched for the big PPVs and heel Shawn Michaels was a favorite. I loved the Attitude era for the majority and although Vince Russo's booking became atrocious towards the end, his shows were such a breath of fresh air in 97 and 98. I didn't like 2000 as much as the rest of the net did, but it was still enjoyable. Can't really decide the last 3 years yet, they kind of are still a blur.

Back to the Shawn/HHH WM 17. I had heard that the original booking had Shawn helping HHH win against Taker and that it would have been Shawn/HHH (DX reunion deal) against Taker/Kane at Backlash. If this happened, what would have Austin done, with him doing the big heel turn and Rock leaving to go film the Scorpion King

Mets and Al Leiter cease negotiations. His 7 year run with the Mets comes to an end Apparently he has multiple offers and the Yankees are still interested.
-
Vince is not a big Ric Steamboat fan, so I doubt he will be used on air at all
-
What did they do to Finley? Undertaker beat him up in a vignette in a parking lot, like literally a week after Finley was hired
-
Al, what would you say are Minaya's biggest problems?
-
It pains me to say it, but the NL East is turning into the joke of baseball. The Al Central is maybe the only division that could be worse.
-
I don't mind if Leiter takes the deal, in fact I think he will. It's just that for all these years he's waxed poetic about the Mets organization, talking about being a Met for life and retiring in a Met uniform and being a Mets fan growing up. Now whem the chips are down and money on the table, do these things matter? I bet not, not that I begrudge him for taking more money
-
The Marlins offer Al Leiter a one year deal worth 7 Million. The Mets offered only 1 year/4 Million. We'll see if Al is legit, does he take the better deal or give the Mets a break because he's a "Met for life" and wants to "retire a Met"? (and all that other hyperbole)

Over/Under on the number of shows before Steamboat is squashed in a backstage vignette by Batista or Snitsky? What was it, like 3 weeks for Fit Finley?

ECW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot
strummer replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
I alluded to this in the other threads in WWE folder, but what was the reasoning behind the changing in the booking philosophy around 99-2000? I mean EVERY match seemed to get 20-25 minutes, regardless of who was involved. I clearly remember an RVD/Spike match lasting 25 minutes or so and it baffled me at the time. But clearly 99-00 ECW had A LOT less angles than it did from 95-98 and the match times increased tremendously. Anyone know why Heyman made the move to this philosophy? -
Scherer is pretty good, his news is usually right, whether he steals it from Meltzer or whomever is another question
