Candido had serious problems with the Clique in 95-96 HHH and Shawn are still there, and on top. Very few were more of a victim of the Clique than Candido, who was buried by Shawn and Scott Hall big time. His own girlfriend sold him out and partied with the Clique, because she thought it would be good for her career. Tammy admitted to this in her shoot interview. He could have been something, but was turned into a complete jobber after the Horowitz angle. Anyone who has seen Foley's DVD, Cornette loved Candido and so did Foley. He could have been a star with the right booking

IIRC, JBL has been on Velocity twice, once against Funaki in April, and against Shannon Moore right before Summerslam. That isn't exactly a "regular"

Conan O'Brien to take over Tonight Show in 2009!
strummer replied to Eclipse's topic in Television & Film
Here's some more on this from Wade Keller of all people: "Yesterday it was announced that Jay Leno had graciously agreed (after strong-armed tactics and threats) to retire in five years from the Tonight Show and hand over the reins to the younger, hipper Conan O'Brien to prevent Conan from jumping to ABC to go head-to-head with Leno and David Letterman. That means, of course, that NBC will be looking for the next person to take over the chair previously used by David Letterman and Conan O'Brien hosting Late Night after Conan's Tonight Show. Last time the chair was being vacated with Letterman going to CBS, Lorne Michaels picked Conan even though he had no previous talk show hosting experience. In fact, he had barely appeared on camera before. Obviously, with the success of Conan, NBC will be looking to take another unconventional route to finding a replacement. " I knew Jay had to be forced out, no way that guy would graciously give up a high paying gig. He NEVER turns down work. Of course, on the show last night he pats himself on the back for making such a selfless move. This guy seems to be one of the biggest phonies in show business, and that is saying a lot -
Conan O'Brien to take over Tonight Show in 2009!

wow, I didn't know there were people who actually thought Jay Leno was funny, or even better, funnier than Letterman. I don't see how anyone could believe Leno is funnier than Letterman, but to each his own. -

They're clearly trying to make Stacy the #1 female babyface on Raw, probably since Victoria bombed in the role, Lita is involved in the Kane angle, and Nidia is well, Nidia. The last couple of weeks they have portrayed Vicky as Stacy's little buddy just around for the ride. It must suck for the other women to watch Stacy get this push while they have been working hard and trying to improve. Meanwhile, Stacy doesn't have to work on House Shows, while the other women work every weekend. To further rub it in, Stacy is portrayed as the biggest star on TV despite doing nothing.

Apparenly Guillen was angry for being taken out for a pinch runner after being hit by a pitch yesterday. I've never heard of a player throwing a fit for being replaced for a pinch runner

As was I. Well, Technically, they are, but that can be said of alot of baseball teams. How can a franchise with 2 World Championships and 4 National League pennants be an all time loser organization? What are the Astros then? If you are talking about overall record, they are WELL, WELL below .500 as a franchise, so yes they have lost a lot, but they did win a lot, especially from 84-90
-
I was talking about in their entire history AS, they HAVE made some good decisions over the years and have won before. They are not at the level of the Clippers in the NBA, the Bengals in the NFL, etc. They are not an all-time losing organization. Like I said the Houston Astros started the same year as the Mets and have never won a playoff series.
-
and the Bucs finally score an offensive touchdown, first one in 12 quarters. Tim Brown with his 100th career touchdown
-
I saw that 7 people were found dead in a pile. I guess that clears it up. Yes, four people tripped over the pile and hit their heads. I'm kind of sick of people saying the Mets are an all time loser organization. They have been around for 42 years, have won 2 world Championships and 4 National League Pennants. There have been stretches (like the one currently) where they have been terrible (early 60s, late 70s early 80's, mid 90s), but I would not call them one of the big losers in sports history. The Houston Astros came in to the National League the same year the Mets did, 1962, and have not won a single playoff series. The Texas Rangers have also not won a playoff series. The Phillies have one championship in 100 years.

Well, the Giants look to be going into a lion's den next week in Green Bay. Packers coming off 2 straight losses and already lost their home opener against the Bears. We'll see if the Giants are really worth anything next week in GB, I can't see them keeping it close. Dominating win today against Cleveland, but the Browns are just horrible now. Big 2 games coming up against GB and Dallas, both on the road.
-
and the Giants blow the game open in the bottom of the 8th and lead the Dodgers 9-5. Looks like that was a big loss for the Cubs today, their lead should shrink to a half a game
-
This is when I wished Fox did baseball doubleheaders. After that exciting game, I 'm craving more baseball, especially Dodgers/Giants, and on comes a rerun of Angel.
-
I meant still in the wild card race, not automatically in the playoffs
-
and Craig Brazell wins the game in the bottom of the 11th with his first major league homerun off Kent Murcker.
-
um, I think McCarver and Lewin are kind of sounding ridiculous saying this is a MUST WIN for the Cubs. THEY HAVE TO WIN THIS GAME OR THE SEASON IS OVER!!!Come on they are a .5 up with a full week to play. Yes, it's an important game, but the Cubs are still in it no matter what. Another reason to hate Fox broadcasters

Sosa has declined, but what about Piazza!? This guy is a pop up machine. Talk about decline, Piazza has fallen of the face of the Earth
