You put two on your DVD. Sorry, my fault, I meant after the change from WWF to WWE.
-
True - that was a good match. I heard something about the match was meant to be Undertaker vs Ahmed Johnson, but was changed due to Johnson's injury. Any truth to that? Cheers.
-
I always found great comedy value in the old Steven "Real Man's Man" Regal theme, back in '98. Cheers.

Wrestlers You Thought Would Never Turn Face/Heel
IWD replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in General Wrestling
Flair Foley Savage Jimmy Snuka. Shawn Michaels. Cheers. -
There's a bunch of active wrestlers who are over 35 in WWE... Ric Flair (56) Undertaker (43) Hardcore Holly (42) Booker T (40) William Regal (40) Shawn Michaels (39) Batista (39) Kane (38) Chris Benoit (37) Bradshaw (37) Funaki (36) Eddie Guerrero (36) Kurt Angle (36) Plus Marty Jannetty coming back in aged 45, and Ultimo Dragon (apparently still under contract) aged 38. Cheers.

Anyone want to predict the matches? Undertaker vs Hulk Hogan (Survivor Series '91, first title win) Undertaker vs Mankind (Boiler Room Brawl, SummerSlam '96) Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels (Hell In A Cell, Bad Blood '97) Undertaker vs Bret Hart (One Night Only) Undertaker vs Kane (Inferno Match, Unforgiven '98) Undertaker vs Rob Van Dam (Vengeance '01) Undertaker vs Ric Flair (WrestleMania 18) I can't immediately think of any strong Undertaker matches since the end of the attitude era. Cheers.

Was Bad News Brown ever a face? Cheers. -
Not sure, but I noticed that Savage was wrestling house show matches all the way from WrestleMania VII through to his televised comeback against Jake Roberts at This Tuesday In Texas. Cheers.
-
My pick (before the IWC but even so): StarrCade '89. Cheers.
-
Random fact: he also co/ghost-wrote William Shatner's 3 autobiographies. Cheers.

I've been away from my home PC for a while only to discover that all the old Torrent search sites that I used to use have gone down. Can anyone point me towards one that's active? Cheers.

RAW Wrestler of the Year for Each Year
IWD replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in General Wrestling
My thoughts for 1993... 1. Bret Hart 2. Shawn Michaels 3. Yokozuna 4. Lex Luger 5. Curt Hennig Cheers. -
Paul Burchill is also down there, who's an impressive 6'4" 280lb worker who can do a standing shooting star press as well as a variety of good power moves. He also has a lot more agility than recent OVW call-ups. He could make a big name for himself if they use his correctly. Actually, I e-mailed Lance Storm a week or so ago to ask how he was doing and he said he was doing just fine there. Cheers.

With the recent releases of Rhyno, Paul Bearer, Matt Hardy, Jesus and Chilly Willy, I was thinking who has a safe job with the WWE. Here's what I came up with... Will never be fired: The Undertaker (super-over, been with the company since 1990) Triple H (McMahon lovechild, been with the company since 1995) Safe jobs: Chris Benoit (over with fans, good worker, been with the company since 2000) Chris Jericho (over with fans, good worker, been with the company since 1999) Dave Batista (world champion) Eddie Guerrero (over with fans, good worker, been with the company since 2000) Edge (McMahon favourite, been with the company since 1998) John Cena (WWE champion) Kurt Angle (will be with the company till be retires, been with the company since 1999) Randy Orton (McMahon favourite) Ric Flair (over with fans, Triple H's buddy) Shawn Michaels (over with fans, Triple H's buddy, been with the company since 1988) The Big Show (contracted till 2009, vastly better worker than in previous years, been with the company since 1999) Fairly safe: Booker T (solid worker) Christian (lots of TV exposure) Christy Hemme (diva search winner) Daniel Puder (TE4 winner) Hardcore Holly (employee since 1994, never gets fired despite being a nutter) Hurricane (big merchandise seller, quality JTTS) John Layfield (became over despite crap matches) Kane (employee since 1995) Rey Mysterio (over with fans) Rob Van Dam (over with fans) Stacy Keibler (eye candy) Torrie Wilson (eye candy) Trish Stratus (women's champion, good heel) William Regal (popular backstage, friend of HHH) Prospects for the future who have been given some level of a push by the company: Carlito Carribean Cool Mohammed Hassan Paul London Renee Dupree Shelton Benjamin Chris Masters Reasonably safe by virtue of only just having joined the company: Marty Jannetty Psicosis Super Crazy Possible drops: Ultimo Dragon (apparently still under contract) Funaki Dudley Boyz + Spike (been off TV for ages, still doubt they'll go though as they would be too over in another company) Rosey Dawn Marie Val Venis Mark Henry (10 year contract expires during 2005) Stevie Richards Nunzio Simon Dean Scotty Too Hotty Billy Kidman Kenzo Suzuki Hiroko Tyson Tomko Matt Morgan Mordecai Garrison Cade Akio All the rest, including the likes of Tajiri, Victoria, La Resistance, Orlando, etc. should be safe, but not as safe as the other people I've mentioned. Comments welcome. Cheers.

When he left originally (1999) he just wanted to move back to UFC. They tried to bring Shamrock back in March 2002 but he wanted a lighter schedule than they were offering. Cheers.
-
Yes it was. Forget the exact details but it was definitely related. Cheers.
-
Longer. I recall Matt Hardy being on Superstars as long ago as 1996. Matt was actually wrestling as a WWF jobber back in 1994, alongside Jeff, Chris Kanyon and Scotty Too Hotty. However, he didn't get a contract until 1999. Cheers.

Screw that noise! If Hogan is in a match he should win by default! god... just shut up, we get it: you're a hogan mark now go away Shut up. When you first started watching wrestling, you LOVED Hogan. Everyone did. Unless you're really young and didn't start watching it until Hogan was gone. I still get chills when I hear "Real American" comes on and Hogan heads to the ring. Even though he sucks and shouldn't be anywhere near the ring, but that isn't the point. I was never a Hogan fan, and I've been watching for ages. I was always far more interested in DiBiase, The Bulldogs, Savage and co. Cheers.

They called him Will Jones in OVW. He's in his 40's a shadow of his formerself... plus he looks like he couldn't whoop Spike Dudley let along Hassan. Yeah the WWE are morons... I thought he was quite young. http://www.obsessedwithwrestling.com/profi...illy-willy.html Birthday - 1975? Cheers.

Probably a three year contract that gets renewed each year. Jerry Lynn had a similar contract when he signed with WWF in February 2001. Lynn also advised Zach Gowen to check his contract thoroughly. Cheers.

Matt Stryker goes by the name Matt Martel in some shows. IMDB says he's the son of Rick Martel, can anyone confirm this for me? Cheers. (I meant to post this in the Indies folder - can a mod move it please. Sorry for the extra work - thanks!)

Both men had very successful tenures in WCW before their WWE runs. Let's not forget Booker T's 12+ reigns as WCW World Tag champ and his 6(?) reigns as WCW Television champ. Regal was also very over as a former WCW Television champ and as 1/2 of the Bluebloods. Yep, what he said. Cheers.
