You bastard-- you beat me to it. KILLER WASPS. FORGOT ABOUT THEM, DIDN'T YOU?!
-
Hi, did I miss anything?
-
I wouldn't skip on Piss Bayfire if he was on less.
-
Damn, I nominated you for THAT? I feel like such a square, man.
-
I nominate Slayer. (Hey Byron the Bulb, what am I nominating Slayer for again?)
-
You just know Vader is going to be connected with this somehow.
-
hbr1.com is a great place to hear stuff.
-
Briefly had him blocked. Didn't know why. Unblocked. I see no reason to block again.
-
Doom 2, Level 24. The one where you have to walk on platforms three inches wide.
-
Yeah, mine too. Go figure. EB Games?
-
Word on the street is that it's going to be showing up at EB Games (at least in Canada) this week.
-
No one seems to actually have the game yet, although indications from fireproclub.com are that the Japan saves seem to work with the NTSC version.
-
I forget: am I a gimmick poster or not?

Eighteen minute magnum opuses just seem better suited to live shows than the studio. If Sixty To Zero for example had made it on to "Freedom" in it's full eighteen minute form, it wouldn't have had the same impact as the much tighter Crime In The City incarnation. (Although the longer version didn't excise some of the better verses.)

For me, Ordinary People should have waited until the 300 billion disc Archives set that was supposed to come out at any point over the last twenty years. I prefer the live recording with the Bluenotes from the bootlegs over the new studio version. But Bluebird and Boxcar are from the same era and they sound pretty good as well. I like Dirty Old Man, too.

I post because it's the best place to annoy and confuse. -
They took out the Hitler Building! Where is everyone going to see Hitler memorabilia?
-
It's like I didn't miss anything over the last week or so.

He's not exactly Ranger Rick.

A-Rod: I want to confess as best I can, but my heart is void. The void is a mirror. I see my face and feel loathing and horror. My indifference to men has shut me out. I live now in a world of ghosts, a prisoner in my dreams. Ozzie: Yet you do not want to die. A-Rod: Yes, I do. Ozzie: What are you waiting for? A-Rod: Knowledge. Ozzie: You want a guarantee. A-Rod: Call it what you will. Is it so hard to conceive God with one's senses? Why must He hide in a midst of vague promises and invisible miracles? How are we to believe the believers when we don't believe ourselves? What will become of us who want to believe but cannot? And what of those who neither will nor can believe? Why can I not kill God within me? Why does He go on living in a painful, humiliating way? I want to tear Him out of my heart, but He remains a mocking reality which I cannot get rid of. Do you hear me? Ozzie: I hear you. A-Rod: I want knowledge. Not belief. Not surmise. But knowledge. I want God to put out His hand, show His face, speak to me. Ozzie: But He is silent. A-Rod: I cry to Him in the dark, but there seems to be no one there. Ozzie: Perhaps there is no one there. A-Rod: Then life is a senseless terror. No man can live with Death and know that everything is nothing. Ozzie: Most people think neither of Death nor nothingness. A-Rod: Until they stand on the edge of life and see the Darkness. Ozzie: Ah, that day. A-Rod: [laughs bitterly] I see. We must make an idol of our fear, and call it God. Ozzie: You are uneasy. A-Rod: Death visited me this morning. We are playing chess. This respite enables me to perform a vital errand. Ozzie: What errand? A-Rod: My whole life has been a meaningless search. I say it without bitterness or self-reproach. I know it is the same for all. But I want to use my respite for one significant action. Ozzie: So you play chess with Death? A-Rod: He is a skillful tactician, [smiling] but I have not yet lost one piece. Ozzie: How can you outwit Death? A-Rod: [smiling] By a combination of bishop and knight. I will break his flank. Ozzie: I shall remember that. A-Rod: Traitor! You have tricked me! But I'll find a way out.
