Balls. I'm in a theatrical career and when I stack Shakespeare up against someone like say, Pinter, Ionesco, or Buchner, he's comparable. Not superior. Well, if I may jump in hip deep here, and please keep in mind that most of my knowledge of realpolitik comes from Eddie Izzard, Russia was a nation that was frequently the target of invasion (Napoleon, WWI and II) and after that experience it was felt best for Russia (and obviously not for those nations conscripted into the Bloc) that the Iron Curtain be set up.
