    When is TNA going to wake up?

    For the past couple of months (since the start of summer)TNA shows have either been average of boring. Nothing new is happening storyline wise and there are no good feuds going on expect for Dusty and Russo which is not a wrestling feud btw. Sabin and Red seems stuck, the Truth seems stuck, Raven is stuck,if Goldylocks is still going to manage Alex Shelley during the Abyss feud it will be boring, Kash needs a new feud, and Jarrett won't job even if his life depended on it. Dutch and Jarrett has to be the worst writers and bookers in wrestling history. Outside the ring TNA is doing great with the TV deal, T-Shirt company, and the signing of Dave, but inside the ring TNA isn't doing crap.

    The Victory Road commercial

    Thank God for Dave Sahidi. That commercial was the only positive thing about tonight's show. That was the best wrestling promo this year since WWE's WrestleMania. For the people who saw it (ONLY THE PEOPLE WHO SAW IT) what did you think of it?

    Orton makes losing history

    In my years of watching wrestling I never saw a wrestler lose with his legs crossed.

    WWE=Album killers

    Everytime WWE uses someone's music for their PPV's I always check to see if WWE helps their album sales. For the Unforgiven PPV they are using Saliva's (Why?) music. Well they went from 20 to 63 to 88!!!

    When is TNA going to wake up?

    Both points are good, but I agree with this one. If you look at AJ is the only one who wrestles like he did since being in TNA. Kid Kash hardly even does the movesets he used to do. Jarrett is afraid to let any heel go over here. A great example is when Kash joined Jarretts group it made him look like an idiot by going around asking people to sign a paper. It took the heat that Kash had away from him. Hell even Sonny Siaki was a better heel than Jarrett because he had a character. You notice that Monty never gave Jarrett the pounce yet even though Monty said he doesn't like Jarrett? Raven's heat is dead, Abyss is turning face, Kid Kash is stuck, and the only person that has more heat than Jarrett that is getting over is Scott D'Amore and he's not even a wrestler. Not only are the heels not getting over, but the faces aren't either. A company should never have only one mega heel because it makes it boring. Even though HHH is the mega heel you still have Kane, Christian, Trish, Flair, and Batista who are over also. Doing backstage heel interviews (Kash) doesn't mean anything because you can't interact with the crowd. When was the last time wrestlers that was feuding cut promos on each other in the ring that?

    WWE=Album killers

    YES!!! That song made me hate them even more. The best theme that WWE has used was Drowning Pool's "Bodies" for Summer Slam 2001.

    The Victory Road commercial

    Well besides AJ-Jerry Lynn, AMW-XXX feuds plus AJ, Jerry Lynn, Raven, Abyss, Ron Killings, Chris Daniels, and Lo-Ki being apart of TNA it was the best thing in TNA's 2 year history

    WWE=Album killers

    The worst part of it is that the song has nothing to with the PPV. They should have used a song that fits the HHH and Orton feud. I would have picked Linkin Park's "Breaking the Habit."

    Christopher Daniels Interview

    Alex Marvez interviews Christopher Daniels Alex Marvez interviews Christopher Daniels E-mail: [email protected] One of the biggest negatives to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling discontinuing its Wednesday night pay-per-views is getting to see less of Christopher Daniels. One of the promotion’s bright spots in its two-plus years of operation, Daniels was finally gaining more exposure after proving himself as a top talent in Japan and on the U.S. independent scene. In the following interview, Daniels discusses his career track, his background in the business, and his match with Mike Modest on a January 2001 episode of WCW Monday Nitro that featured a botched Asai moonsault that almost resulted in a broken neck. A link to my Daniels column for Scripps-Howard News Service is available at http://www.shns.com/shns/g_index2.c...LING02-09-02-04. Q: How does the upcoming schedule change made by TNA affect you? Daniels: “Obviously it’s going to be different for us as far as the money because we’ll be doing different dates. We’re only scheduled now for taping on Tuesdays in Orlando. But as far as I’m concerned, it’s a step in the right direction. It will add to the longevity of TNA, and I for one am all for it. I know that guys may feel the short-term loss of money. But for the long term, if we can keep afloat and this keeps us going … We’re in it for the long haul. We’re not looking short term.” Q: How do you reflect upon the time you’ve spent in TNA and how much do you think the exposure you’ve gotten has helped your career? Daniels: “I don’t know. I feel like I’m doing as much indy work as I had before TNA, but I think it certainly helps as far as notoriety. I work for a wider range of promoters now. I had kind of set up a core group I would work for and had run with before TNA started. Now, I’m getting calls from a lot of promoters out that are using me based on the stuff they’ve seen or the fact I’m with TNA.” Q: I’m sure having full-time work also added some stability to your life. Daniels: “It’s a big positive. The fact I’m working every week takes a lot of pressure off. With the independents when I was running my own career and looking for my own work, I kind of had to beat the bushes and find enough dates to survive upon. Now that TNA is there take, it takes the pressure off me with the indy work I have to do or need to do to stay afloat.” Q: How many shows do you figure you will have worked by the end of the year and what is the average month like for you? Daniels: “Before, I tried to average two shows a weekend. Realistically, I do ok. At lots of places I can find double shots. In TNA, my schedule was usually working Wednesdays and Thursdays and then just a Saturday or sometimes a Friday and Saturday. But the pressure was not on me to have to get a Friday or Saturday. It just depends now how TNA handles my bookings. I just depend on what comes through them and whatever my schedule can handle. A lot of times, they try to help me out by not booking me on Fridays so I can get home and be with my wife and daughter.” Q: I imagine that must be a welcome change. Daniels: “It’s helped my family life with things being a lot more stable. The indy scene is just not very stable. Luckily, the promoters I’ve worked with I’ve kind of made a rapport with. They’re not the type of promoters who cancel shows for the most part. I’m lucky I’ve been used by TNA pretty much every week since I’ve been on the roster That stability has helped me financially and given me a piece of mind because I know I’ve got work and am going to get a paycheck.” Q: What was your worst indy show experience? Daniels: “Not too long ago, I did a show for a guy and let’s just say the person I worked with was not very good. It was just difficult working with a guy who wasn’t prepared to do anything even remotely close to professional wrestling. I had a couple of friends watch the match and laugh at my predicament. I was just trying to get through it without losing my cool or killing someone. But like I said, I’ve been very lucky with the promoters I’ve worked for. It’s very rare that I’ve been surprised by a bad venue or bad ring or bad opponent. Those times are very few and far between. I know of some stories and heard some stories, but I’ve been lucky. Q: I’m sure it has struck you how weird it is that you’re a well-known performer in Japan but relatively anonymous here among mainstream fans in the U.S.? Daniels: “I am honest about the amount of publicity and exposure I’ve had. If you’re a wrestling fan, you kind of know who I am. But as far as casual fans, there are not many places you can see me unless you saw me one time on Nitro. I hope that is going to change with the fact TNA has a show now on Fox Sports Net and hopefully the spotlight on TNA will shine brighter now. And I hope with the monthly pay-per-view shows we can build up and get more of an audience. I understand I’m not a household name. I know I’ve worked for the past 11 years and my name is not really on the tips of everyone’s tongue. But if you’re a real wrestling fan, you have an idea of who I am.” Q: Your most watched match in the U.S. was obviously the one you had against Mike Modest on Nitro. How do you reflect upon that match and how lucky do you consider yourself not to have suffered serious injury? Daniels: “The way that it went, I wish it had gone a little differently. But the truth of the matter is being hurt like I was and just the way events happened, it kind of helped me in the sense of getting a contract at the time. Part of the selling point for me backstage was the fact I was tough enough to gut it out in the match and finish it. It’s actually very funny. Not too long after, I met [ex-WCW front office employee] Mike Graham for the first time. He walked up, shook my hand and said, ‘You must be either the toughest SOB or the dumbest SOB I ever met.’ What could I say to that? I didn’t know how badly I was hurt. Of course, it hampered my performance but I was in a position where I knew I had to finish what I was there to do.” Q: What was your injury exactly? Daniels: “I never really checked to see how bad it really was. All I know was I lost feeling in my arm for close to six weeks. The very back of my shoulder and triceps and part of my hand were numb for almost two months. I had an MRI a month afterward, not to see how bad it was but in concert with a documentary I was doing. They were like, ‘If you go, can we would like to film this.’ I didn’t have the money to go and see the doctors and get the best care I could at that point. But I went and got it done. It was just a matter of a pinched nerve after all that and maybe a compressed disc, but nothing that would affect me too much in the long term. A compressed disc is not something to take lightly, but luckily I could work through it and slowly but surely got my feeling back. I’m still weak on that side of my body and have slight problems to this day. But that’s the nature of this business. You work through these things and keep moving.” Q: How bummed were you when WCW folded and did you think about calling it quits afterward? Daniels: “Nom I don’t think I ever looked at it as a sign I shouldn’t be doing this. That was the case with my first WCW contract as well. It’s just a matter of bad luck and bad timing, not on my part necessarily but just bad timing for me. It was never anything where I thought I should go get something more stable. It was just a matter of getting back on the road and in the ring and going at this from a different angle I always felt I had a good relationship with people at WWE. When WWE bought WCW, I had hoped because I had a developmental contract that it would roll over. When it didn’t, I figured I just had to keep trying to get that contract. Obviously, I haven’t gotten it through there. But if I went through some of the stuff that other people there have gone through, I might not be where I am today. When I didn’t get a break there, I went back to Japan and after going back got a break with New Japan. It all worked out in the end. It would have been easy to see the negative in the situation, but it was a lot better to get back on the horse and keep going.” Q: Obviously, you’re one of the world’s most talented wrestlers. Why don’t you think WWE didn’t make a strong run at signing you? Daniels: “I think the bottom line is that they’re only going to sign people who they feel can make money for them. For one reason or another, they don’t think they can make money with me. Personally, it’s a little stinging. You can have hurt feeling about it and be angry, but the fact they don’t see that in me only reinforces the fact TNA saw it in me and New Japan gave me an opportunity. “And the bottom line is my goal when I got into this was to make a living wrestling. I’ve reached that goal and can almost say I’ve exceeded it because I make a healthy living and still have fun doing it. If that ever changes and it isn’t fun, I’ll start to think about getting out of it. But I don’t see that day coming.” Q: What goals do you have left in the wresling business and how much longer do you see yourself doing this? Daniels: “I honestly haven’t put a timeframe on it, as long as I remain healthy and still have fun with it. I’m lucky I’ve avoided any serious injury or anything long lasting. I don’t see end to what I’m doing yet. As far as goals, I still feel I have a lot to learn. I don’t think I know everything. My main goal right now is kind of to help TNA and do whatever I can to help it grow. That’s kind of where I planted my flag, so to speak.” Q: I know you were an acting major [at Methodist College in Fayetteville, N.C.]. Do you have any desire to pursue an acting career? Daniels: “I could, but I always felt if I was not prepared to give 100 percent it would be a waste of time. As long as I was pursuing wrestling, I wouldn’t be able to give 100 percent of myself to acting. I just dabble in it. I have a (casting) picture out and my agent calls around, but nine times out of 10 when they call me, I’m not able to do what they’re asking because I’m wrestling. At some point, I can go back into that. I really don’t know when. But when I’m finished wrestling, I would like to be a (road) agent. I feel one of my strengths is putting things (in a match) together.” Q: Did anything you learned at Methodist College influence your Fallen Angel character? Daniels: “Not really. There really wasn’t anything in a textbook or a class that I thought about. It really was from an idea of a David Koresh or the character in Seven that Kevin Spacey played with the idea no man is completely innocent and everyone has something they’re guilty of. I’ve said this before, but it’s like when Dustin Rhodes started the Goldust gimmick. No matter what your background was, everyone had a strong reaction to what he was doing. The one thing I thought everyone has is a strong reaction to a religious gimmick because everyone has their own beliefs. This is something that’s rough on everybody.” Q: Did you ever return that robe to the church you borrowed it from for the Fallen Angel gimmick? Daniels: “I’ve still got the robe. I may not be going to hell doing the gimmick, but stealing the robe and keeping it may be the breaking point.” Alex Marvez's weekly pro wrestling column can be found in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Denver Rocky Mountain News, Biloxi Sun-Herald, Honolulu Star-Bulletin, Bakersfield Californian, Halifax Daily News, Corpus Christi Caller Times, Birmingham News, Knoxville News-Sentinel, Vero Beach (Fla.) It's nice to see that it's not all about the money with him and he is doing anything he can to help TNA in the long run.
  11. Go to the website ddtdigest.com. It shows reports and results of WCW shows going back to 1996. Try to read all the shows that has Jarrett in them. He gets slammed in alot of them. Here is one from 1996: WCW {Pro} Wrestling - Sunday, 10/27/96 Harlem Heat sans Sherri and Parker def. Rough and Ready via pinfall when Mike Enos was pinned immediately after a Harlem Hangover. Diamond Dallas Page def. Chavo Guerrero Jr. via pinfall following a diamond cutter. Arn Anderson gave an interview where he said he was going to end Luger's career at Halloween Havoc. We can only hope. Sullivan, Meng, Barbarian, and Big Bubba def. four jobbers who the announcers didn't even name via pinfall after Bubba's side slam. Maxx Muscle must be hurt because he always comes to the ring but never wrestles. Jeff Jarrett was interviewed. I don't get what the attraction is with this guy. Neither do the other fans, I guess, since he was roundly booed on his first appearance on Nitro. I hope he gets chokeslammed tonight. "Lionheart" Chris Jericho def. Manny Fernandez via pinfall with a somersault from the second rope. Ice Train defeated Scott Norton via pinfall with a rollup when Teddy Long distracted Norton. This was a first for Teddy Long, causing one of his men to win rather than lose. Now the reason I made this topic is except for him saying J-E-F-F J-A-R-R-E-T-T and cutting his hair nothing has changed. He's still the same ol' Rick Flair wannabe that thinks caring a guitar still makes him cool. He's still an average wrestler with average mic skills that can't even sell out a mostly free crowd in his own home state. The only reason he was semi-over in the WWF was that he had cheap heat (Debra). In WCW the only reason he was champion was because Russo is his buddy and the only reason he's been the champion and buries people in TNA is because he's the co-owner and part writer.
  12. 1. Jarrett pulls Hardys punk card- since this feud has began Jarrett has always called out Hardy and bashed him with the guitar. Before Hardy can get the best of Jarrett Monty Brown always interfere. The heel is never suppose to get more heat than the face in a title feud. It makes the face look weak and boring (see Hardy) 2. The face always costs the heel champion a match- since this feud has begun Jarrett hasn't wrestled a worthy opponent (1 minute jobber Impact matches doesn't count). Costing the heel a match adds more heat to the feud. 3. Reason for the feud- Besides Hardy getting a contract saying he's the no.1 contender there hasn't been a reason for this feud to happen. Why does Hardy want the title? 4. Promo time- Now I know Hardy can't speak a lick and 5 minutes of listening to Jarrett on the mic will put you to sleep, but running out at the ends of shows and a video package isn't going to cut it. You have to make the people care about the match and feel like it's the biggest match in TNA history (which is what there not doing). 5. Not enough minutes for both guys- If TNA thinks Hardy can go 20-25 when he tires out walking down the ramp there crazy. Hardy needed more time in the ring before his match with Jarrett. Jarrett hasn't been in a long match since his match with the Truth.

    It's time for TNA to step it up

    After watching that crap I watched last night that they call World WRESTLING Entertainment. TNA really needs to step it up this week. The problem is TNA isn't giving me a reason to order this weeks show. I don't want to see Dusty in the ring, I don't want to see Vito wrestle whoever he's wrestling, I don't like AMW and Triple X isn't exciting like they used to be, I could care less who Desire's mystery surpise is, and Jarrett v. Hardy is the worst world title feud in TNA's history. Why can't Chris Daniels just be the dark heel he was going to be before Hogan runied it? How far has Sabin fallen off? He looked like he was going to be TNA's next star. I bet you Raven v. Sabu feud would be huge at other indies. In fact I bet you the wrestlers who work for TNA are more over everywhere else except for TNA. They expect for us to be excited just because they throw wrestlers in the ring. I know some of the characters TNA did 2002 to early 2003 was bad, but at least they tried back then. They aren't doing crap to get anyone over. I'm not going to boo a Canadian just because he's from Canada. They need to cut Anti-American promos to heel it up. Hell, have team Canada visit Disney World and diss everything about it. Maybe TNA management feel they don't have to put on good shows since there ending the weekly PPV's, but that's still no excuse since they expect us to pay $9.95 until they end it.

    Has HHH ever been alone?

    It seems like most of HHH's WWE career he always needed someone with him. I not saying he can't over by himself because he can, but look the people he's been with since being in the WWE. Sable, Chyna, Steph, and then after his brief feud with HBK in the summer of 2002 it's been Ric Flair. Why does HHH always need someone by his side? Does Vince think HHH can't get over by just being by himself?

    9-8-04 FINAL WEEKLY TNA PPV Preview

    For a second pretend I'm thinking Russo booking I think both Russo and Dusty will turn heel next week. Think about this, everytime Jarrett cuts a promo he always say "Russo you want the title off and Dusty you do to." First it started with Jarrett saying he knows something is going on with Dusty and Russo. Next thing you know Dusty and Russo argue. Then when Hudson went to the back to speak with both of them Dusty said everything is fine. Then Dusty cost 3LK the chance to win the titles. Finally, Russo told Dusty as long as he's in charge he will always have a spot for Dusty. What I think will happen is Jarrett will cut a promo and put both Russo's and Dusty's name in it. Of course Russo will count the 1-2-3 for Dusty helping him stay. Later in the main event Dusty will come down and accidentally cost Hardy the match. Russo will come down and get on the mic to say "Dusty after all the crap you put me though these past couple of months you know what I'm going to do to you? I'm going to hug you." Then Jarrett looks at both of them and then they all hug. This will do three things: 1. Restart the Dusty and Terry Funk feud 2. Remember when Jarrett asked whose going to stand up for Russo? Well, it was AJ Styles. AJ can say that Russo turned his back on him for Jarrett 3. Start the Monty Brown and Jarrett feud. Monty said he doesn't trust Jarrett or Russo so with them being together he has a reason OK I'm not Russo anymore

    Would it have killed them to have Petey Williams re-match with Sonjay and for him to cut a promo challenging AJ since AJ called him out on the PPV? Would it have killed them to have Chris Harris or James Storm v. Primetime or Daniels with one of the Naturals being the special guest referee to continue the feud? Would it have killed them to have Bobby Rude (w/Scott) v. B.G. James (w/Dusty) to help push the match next week? And god forbid they couldn't have done Hardy and AJ v. Jarrett and Kash to help the final confrontation between Hardy and Jarrett before the "BIGGEST TNA MATCH IN HISTORY" next week.

    TNA Impact tapings September 2, 2004 Orlando, Fla. at Universal Studios Report by Alan J. Wojik, PWTorch.com correspondent DARK MATCHES Due to the threat of Hurricane Frances the crowd was scary low, so they sat all the fans on the hard camera side of the building. (1) "Wildcat" Chris Harris (w/"Cowboy" James Storm) beat Bobby Roode (w/Petey Williams). Storm was ringside with a crutch due to his lower back injury that was exasperated last night in AMW's loss to the Naturals. Williams tried to pull a double switch but Harris was not fooled. Harris hit the Catatonic but Williams pulled Dalton to the floor. Storm attacked Williams but Johnny Devine distracted Harris so Roode could hit a backward clothesline for the win BUT TNA Senior referee Rudy Charles came down and ordered the match restarted and even after more outside interference by Team Canada, Harris hit Roode with the spear for the victory. (2) "Primetime" Elix Skipper & "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels beat Frankie "The Future" Kazarian & Michael Shane (w/Traci Brooks.) Kazarian and Shane look more fluid each week they work a match. The crowd for some strange reason does not like the duo, maybe not cool enough. Shane missed Daniels and hit Kazarian with the superkick. Daniels hit a bookend to set up Skipper for a mid top rope leg drop. Shane took the mic to insult the fans for the lack of attendance while Kazarian ripped a fans' "the coolest" sign up. IMPACT TAPINGS They showed a highlight package from last night's PPV to begin the show. Like last nights PPV, NWA World Heavyweight champion Jeff Jarrett took to the ring to address hit match with the number one contender Jeff Hardy. Thanks to Jeremy Borash's encouragement the fans chanted Hardy's name. Jarrett pretty much gave the same speech he did on the PPV so I will not talk about it. To come back from commercial 3 Live Kru, Kid Kash and Dallas gave their opinion on the upcoming heavyweight title match. (1) 3 Live Kru (Konnan & B.G. James & Ron Killings) beat Alex Shelley & Nosawa & Abyss (w/Goldy Locks.) James and Konnan tossed Abyss to the floor then threw Shelley into Abyss as Killings hit Nosawa with the scissor kick. As the show went to commercial they once again hinted to Abyss snapping on Goldy and Shelley. Quick highlights of the "asylum Street Fight" from last night was shown. (2) "Notorious K.I.D" Kid Kash (w/Dallas) beat Kid Romeo. Dallas carried a folding table that had AJ spray painted around a big X. it was over before it started as Kash hit his double underhook piledriver. Dallas then put the table in the ring as Kash came off the top rope and put Romeo through it. Footage from last night's World Tag Team title match was shown for the following match. (3) The Naturals beat Shark Boy & D-Ray 3000 to retain the NWA World Tag Team Titles. D-Ray is over as the comedic talent that he is trying to be but the good feelings were short lived as D-Ray was hit with the Natural Disaster. Footage of Bobby Roode, Frankie Kazarian, Michael Shane, and AJ Styles giving opinions on next week's World Title match. (4) Team Canada manager Scott D'Amore (w/Team Canada beat Chasyn Rance. This match was a warmup for D'Amore's match this Wednesday night with Dusty Rhodes. D’Amore came wearing a Ric Flair/Rick Rude style robe. Team Canada made Jeremy Borash read a overhyped card on D'Amore's ring credentials but he showed off his skills (D'Amore runs Border City Wrestling and a training school that produced Petey Williams among others.) D'Amore hit a moonsault but hit Rance on the legs then hit a DVD into a Michinoku Driver. D'Amore trash talked Rhodes on the mic. After the show went to break Team Canada sang the Canadian national anthem which got huge heat. Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley, Goldilocks and Raven gave opinions on the world title match. (5) "Alpha Male" Monty Brown beat Adam Flash. Flash is a Combat Zone Wrestling regular. This was good but too short as Brown hit the POUNCE (yelled real loud and said long ways.) Brown told Jarrett and Hardy that he was waiting for the winner of their match. "The Franchise" Shane Douglas interviewed Dusty Rhodes about the upcoming PPV match with Scott D'Amore where Vince Russo will be the special referee. Before the main event Shane Douglas and Jerry Lynn gave opinions on the match. Jeff Hammond's "Six Points of Impact" was once again with Elliot Sadler. (6) "The Phenomenal" A.J. Styles & "The Charismatic Enigma" Jeff Hardy beat Elite Guard members Onyx and Hotstuff Hernandez. During the match Vince Russo joined Mike Tenay and Don West for commentary. Good match that saw Hardy hit Onyx with the Swanton bomb to win the match. After the show ended Jimmy Hart came out to thank the fans for coming out and to tell the fans that the Impact tapings will be moving to Tuesday's beginning Tuesday, September 14. Real Life Heat

    Actually, Jericho and HHH did have heat back in '99. I remember reading somewhere that management thought Jericho was too soft in the ring. So on an episode of Smackdown Jericho got real rough with Chyna (who HHH was dating at the time). I think it was the segement when Chyna and Kat were in the back talking to Kevin Kelly about Jericho and Jericho ran up behind her and started throwing things at her face while see was on the ground. If you remember the Thanksgiving episode of Smackdown when DX brought the homeless people in one of the homeless guys asked "Can we get work?" And HHH said and I quote "YOU CAN'T WORK HERE YOUR AS BAD AS JERICHO". Keep in mind they both were heels and had nothing to do with each other on screen.

    Did TNA ruin AJ's TNA career?

    I just got finished watching SummerSlam and watching Randy win the title was memorable for two reasons: 1. It was CLEAN and out of nowhere 2. After the match he stayed in the ring long enough to get his respect Now, look at AJ's first title win. His was not memorable for 5 reasons 1. He didn't win it cleanly 2. Russo held on to the damn thing like he won it 3 He didn't stay in the ring to celebrate 4. It was ruined by the announcement of Sting 5. He wasn't a face (he should have won it as a face instead of a heel) It doesn't even matter if AJ gets the title now because he has already had the title twice. This was TNA's chance to create their own star (I know he was ay ROH first, but he wasn't seen national) and they killed it making the feud between Russo and Jarrett more important than AJ's win. So my question is did TNA ruin his TNA wrestler career?

    TNA news from PWI

    Credit pwinsider.com As I noted earlier tonight, former WWE star Spanky was scheduled to debut for TNA at the Impact! tapings in Orlando, Florida. Although he did not appear before the fans at the taping, he was backstage. TNA filmed vignettes to promote his debut with the company. Spanky will be working for the company when his ZERO-ONE schedule in Japan permits. There is talk floating around that Hector Garza may return once TNA knows for sure he is free of his AAA contractual obligations. TNA is also said to be looking at bringing in Super Crazy, the former ECW World Television champion. I've heard discussions about bringing in Extreme Tiger (Tijuana-based worker who's work has been praised and compared to Rey Mysterio when Rey was a rookie) as well but that is dependent on Tiger getting his INS paperwork taken care of so he can work in the United States. Since the AAA deal went kaput, TNA has been booking independent workers out of Mexico, which is why the original Psicosis and L.A. Park (original La Parka) are in now. Special thanks to Mark Pickering for his help with this story. Notes from Impact! taping: TNA has a merchandise stand outside the taping as you entered the soundstage, selling T-shirts and DVDs. Inside the soundstage, they only had a concession stand....Mike Tenay and Jeremy Borash signed autographs for the fans after the show.....They gave out a survey to fans as they entered the show, asking about their wrestling viewing patterns, if they knew of TNA beyond visiting Universal Studios, if they ordered the PPVs and other marketing research information. Interesting to note at the Impact! taping live was that the crowd seemed split down the middle cheering and booing Jeff Hardy. There was also a "We Want Matt" chant live, which I doubt will make the show when it airs tomorrow. Multichannel News covered TNA's decision to change their PPV format from weekly to monthly in today's edition.
