Examples of a Wrestler TRULY Being Put Over
foleyfanforever88 replied to zappafrank's topic in General Wrestling
When I saw there was a new post in this thread, I knew it would be about Orton going over Triple H. I think Triple H did a good job putting Orton over in the 2nd match, but then again he did beat Orton with a roll up earlier in the night. -
I really don't know where I stand on this PPV. As soon as it ended I felt like it was one of the worst shows I'd ever ordered. I really don't understand whey they couldn't just have had the winner of HHH-Umaga face Orton in a last man standing match. Instead, they had to have 3 different title wins in one night. It's just stupid and unnecessary. On the other hand, the show was good in that it was unpredictable and different from any other PPV they've done. The LMS match was really good and I'm glad Orton won.

Here's what I would do for the main event, if 222 isn't showing up tonight. Earlier in the evening, have two qualifying matches. Kennedy vs Matt Hardy, MVP vs Jeff Hardy. The winners of those two matches (Kennedy and Jeff Hardy (Matt and MVP would cost either other their matches)) plus the winners of the other two non-title matches (Triple H and Rey) go on to face Orton in a 5-way elimination match. Orton wins.

So..who does everyone think will walk out champion? I assume the most probable is Orton, but realistically it could be any of the following: Orton Triple H Jeff Hardy Kennedy Umaga CM Punk Undertaker Ric Flair Jericho That's a pretty good number of possibilities..all of which I'd rather see as champion than Cena.

My feelings about this PPV have gone back and forth over the past few weeks. When it was still Orton vs. Cena, and I assumed it would be Punk vs Burke, and I first read that Jericho was planning to come back at the event, I was more excited for tonight than I had been for a PPV in a long time. Then once Cena was taken out of his match and Big Daddy V got the ECW title shot, I felt like the PPV might not be worth ordering anymore. Then a couple days ago, when they still hadnt announced the WWE title match, and I thought that Matt/MVP vs Taker/Kane was on, I was pretty excited again. Now it's 90 minutes before the event and we're back to only 6 matches on the card, which I think is really weak for what could have been a stacked PPV. Batista vs Khali is gonna suck, but it still has some appeal to me. Punk vs BDV is something I wouldn't really care if I missed, even if Punk does retain. Rey vs Finlay will be a good match, but again..nothing I would be pissed if I missed, because they've had plenty of good TV matches before and will in the future I'm sure. Triple H vs Umaga is sadly my 2nd most anticipated match but will only be worth watching if its a good, back and forth brawl rather than a squash. Beth vs Candice won't be a classic but I'm really hoping to see Beth win here. And then there's the title match..if 222 returns to win the title, whether its Y2J or HBK or RVD or DDP or IRS or a member of the BWO, it will be a memorable moment that I'd like to see. If they just decide to go with Orton vs Jeff vs Kennedy or another match with current superstars, I really hope it can be an entertaining match, because it's the reason I've decided to still order this PPV.

Today marks 10 years of Kane and Hell In The Cell
foleyfanforever88 replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in General Wrestling
I love Kane too. He's always been good as a big man and is definitely one of the best ever. He really does deserve another title run. After all the shit he's been through, all the stupid angles, he still remains one of the most consistently over guys in the company. That says something. -
I loved that part too..what was the first action figure's name? Big Wayne Slammer? Whatever it was, it made me laugh. And also, when Cartman says something in class and the rest of kids laugh..and he's like "You guuuuys, don't laaaaaugh.."
-
Sounds like they figured the match needed more time to build since it was quite random and it's a good SD main event for next week. Also sounds like Vince may have gone to UT to solve a problem with the main event. Vince does love the big men in panic situations. You think he's gonna have Undertaker randomly face Orton and lose? I'm not feelin that. And it's kinda bullshit that they're having a PPV without Matt, MVP, Kane, or Taker.
-
I agree. With the exception of the lice episode, this past season has been incredible.
-
WWE.com says that Undertaker/Kane vs MVP/Matt is next week on SD, not at No Mercy. What the fuck. How stupid are they?
-
For some reason I kept seeing RVD in Jesse..and Festus looks just like Snitsky. Also, did anybody hear Michael Cole right before the last commercial break? "blah blah blah Rey Mysterio vs The Great Khali..and it won't be entertaining at all. (..for Rey.)" lol

Cena Injured Tonight (Out 6-12 Months)

I don't think it means that for sure..those are just the 5 guys that are definitely in major matches. -

Holy shit. Just had quite the scare. I went to WWE.com, and the main picture is of Triple H, Umaga, Orton, Batista, and Khali. For a second I thought that was the title match Vince had made. Wow. -

Why would they ever have a PPV without a WWE Title match (or the WWE champion in another major match)? They aren't gonna sell No Mercy on Batista vs Khali. -

Even though I knew there was no way Umaga was winning, I fucking loved the last 5 minutes of that match. -
The machine knows!

The WWE.com article about the title match pretty much points straight towards Orton/Hardy/Umaga/HHH. -

That's probably the best plan I've heard, but I don't think they'd want to do HHH vs Orton out of nowhere. -

I'd also LOVE to see a 16 or even 32 man tournament, for any reason they can come up with to have one. 32 man is over-kill. Ya, probably..but there are more than 16 upper mid-card to Main Event guys. Plus if you did only 16, you'd have to have a few main eventers lose in the first round. -

If one assumes 7 months or less for his departure, he can do a build-up for Summerslam title match. If its longer, he might just do a HHH style return at the event. I'm guessing he'll win it at his first PPV back. And keep it until WM26. -
Cena Injured Tonight (Out 6-12 Months)
foleyfanforever88 replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in The WWE Folder
As much as I wanted the title off of Cena, I really didn't want it to happen this way. I wanted him to LOSE. Cena getting injured is really going to kill RAW, and is just another huge thing in the long list of things that are sending WWE into a downward spiral. I hope he gets back sooner than later, but I obviously don't want him to get the title back right away. -
8.2.11 also corresponds to H.B.K. (credits to someone on another forum for that). Also, the new video says grand_slam.1 in it..HBK was the 1st grand slam champion.
