For anyone wondering why this folder had a shitty name for 3 years, I present to you this thread.
-
I'm changing the name of this folder.

With reference to the former "Get Your Learn On", I always thought "Get Your Hard On" would have been a great name for this folder. -

I think whoever suggested Rob Van Dam will beat Cena for the World Heavyweight Championship at One Night Stand is on the right track. RVD can throw down the World Heavyweight Championship and declare himself ECW champion, thereby leaving only the WWE World Title (the one with the lineage) and the ECW Title. And if they don't turn Smackdown into an ECW show, the WWE World Title holder can be made a floating champion between RAW and Smackdown.
-
Not to mention the fact that there's no way an angle that would do that much damage to the WWE Title would go through. But I could see him throwing down the World Championship - it doesn't have much of a lineage anyway.
-
I could see this work if either RAW or Smackdown was taped once a month in a smaller venue, and then ECW matches would be taped at those venues the same night. The downside is that WWE having RAW or Smackdown at venues like Hammerstein or New Alhambra would encourage monster heat for anything not involving ECW. Well, downside for Vince at least. I personally think it would be hilarious.

Double posts are funny.

It's funny because while we've matured as posters, this guy is stuck in 2003. Let's make him feel at home. +1

At One Night Stand last year the commentators noted that Bubba looked to be in great shape. He looks the same to me now as he did then, so I'm not seeing how he "let himself go". Unless Joey Styles was being sarcastic.

Not to mention HHH in front of several thousand smarks = InstaHeat

They'll probably make it a Three Way Dance with Terry Funk, that way HHH doesn't have to put RVD over.

Of all the various Wrestlemania releases
GreatWhiteNope replied to spman's topic in General Wrestling
Quality-wise, for Wrestlemania I-VIII your best bet would be to import the Region 2 "Tagged Classics" DVD releases from 2004. http://www.dvdaficionado.com/dvds.html?cat...d+classics&rg=A The Coliseum Video references are edited out, but nothing else is (commentary, theme music). -
Jannetty blows everything. I want that on a T-Shirt.
-
God fucking damnit. Although I must admit, if this becomes a yearly thing, it would be quite amusing.
-
Think you know wrestling theme music? Try this!

I thought it was fairly well known that Chris had a fetish for watching other men have sex with Tammy. -
Heyman's said in the past that the only way restarting ECW would work was if they brought in new talent to groom and develop. But as long as they're riging the nostalgia train, Heyman did the right thing last year by booking only people who could still work. Hardcore Homecoming did the opposite and booked everyone they could find, and you had guys 100 lbs. overweight making asses out of themselves. And then again, Heyman's going to have to use Terry Funk this year. He can hardly walk anymore, so putting him in anything other than a tag match wouldn't be wise.

August and December 2000 - those were the last two shows at ECW Arena. The last ECW Arena show before those was in April 2000. ECW folded in January 2001. So from May 2000-January 2001, that's two Philadelphia shows in 8 months. Quite a step down from the biweekly tradition it once was.
-
Because it doesn't look like the ECW Arena anymore? Does it matter? Heyman said the same thing on Byte This last year when asked why One Night Stand wouldn't be held at New Alhambra. I highly doubt he's been there since ECW folded. In fact, Heyman seems to have something against Philly as he stopped doing ECW Arena shows almost entirely in the 6 months leading up to the promotion's closure. It does matter, if it's not the same feeling and vibe inside that place...why bother? Besides I thought that place couldn't hold the power that comes with a PPV. Yeah, it couldn't...10 years ago. Have you seen Hardcore Homecoming? It looks the same except for a giant beer advertisement along the back wall and seating where some of the overhangs were.
