Anyone notice how there’s been five firings so far this season and all five have been firings of black coaches (Doc Rivers, Bill Cartwright, Frank Johnson, Don Chaney, and Byron Scott). Is it just owners keeping them on a shorter leash, or players not taking orders from them, or is it just a coincidence?

I don't think Kobe will even consider Phoenix, but even if he does the Suns won't have the cap room to sign him. The expiring contract of Mcdyess is not enough to get them enough below the salary cap to sign a max deal.

btw, the capsapce the Suns get will mean zilch next offseason. ith the exception of Rasheed Wallace there is absolutely no free agents worth spending any money on.

What are the conditions to the draft picks the Suns get? If it's not the Knicks lottery pick this season, the Suns gets screwed badly. If it is, it's still a bad trade for the Suns.

With the not so great numbers The Rundown had, I think maybe Rock is going to be a little more hesitant about jobbing to young wrestlers that aren't big names. In the past he was confident he was going to make it in Hollywood, so it wasn't a big deal to give someone else the spotlite. Now that he's not so confident about his career in hollywood, he's going be looking for himself a little more and being more weary about who he jobs to.

It is amazing how tough the Western Conference is this season. There's only ONE team in the entire Western Conference with a losing record (Phoenix Suns). Denver, Memphis, LAC, Utah, and the Warriors have all been playing good. Meanwhile, in the Eastern Conference TEN teams currently have losing records. Could it be any more obvious how lopsided the conferences are?

30+ wins and Sloan does deserve a Coach of the Year award. People were predicting the Jazz to end up with wins in the single digits this season. He's winning with perhaps the least talented team in the league. Matt Hapring would be a role player off the bench on most teams, but Sloan has managed to turn him into a star. They look like the Sacramento Kings out there.

So I take it Alfred will be more of an advisor to Batman and less of a man servant. I just can't see Hopkins obeying orders.

Word out of Houston is the Rockets are sending Cuttino Mobley and Eddie Griffin to the Celts for Tony Battie and Eric Williams. As badley as Boston got screwed is the Dallas trade, the Rockets are getting screwed twice as much.

At least Baker's contract is shorter. A couple more seasons and Baker will be off the books. They're stuck paying Lafrentz (a role player, at most) almost 11 million per season for the next 6 years!

The Celts got majorly screwed. They just took on the worse contract in the NBA. Lafrentz is due almost 65 million for the next 6 years. Dallas has been BEGGING for someone to take on that contract. Walker has a bad contract as well, but at least his ends after next season.

I think it's a good move for Rock if he accepts. Do a couple of non-action roles to get more people to take him a little more seriously as an actor instead of a dumb muscle-bound wrestler turned action hero. This is if they don't make the character he plays too flamboyantly gay or else, he's right back to being a joke.

Well, he still has to think about some of these people once the tribes merge.

This pro-wrestler stigma is probably going to stick with Rock for a while. But the great reviews the movie has gotten and the complements Rock has received by most people that have seen the movie is a good first step. Even if the movie doesn't make quite as much as it should. If he continues to make more movies like Rundown I think more people will take him seriously as an actor.

It’s still very early, but the reviews at RottenTomatoes are all positive. Looks like Rock might have a hit. It looks much much better than Scorpion King.
