I'm not afraid of snakes. In general. I am, however, afraid of THAT snake.

Yeah, weird coincedence, I was in the bookstore yesterday and saw Prometha Book 4. But I didn't read it, seeing as how I haven't yet read 2 or 3 yet. Moore's work in the 90's and beyond has been good, but just not up to the level of stuff like Watchmen, Miracle Man, The Killing Joke, or his Swamp Thing run. From Hell is probably his best work that I've read, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was pretty good, Top 10 wasn't bad but wasn't anything special, and Promethea just didn't do anything for me. Now that I think about it, same general thing goes for Neil Gaiman. A lot of his later stuff has been damn good, but none of it measures up to Sandman.

River is given a much more compelling reason for her bizarre behavior than just "traumatic childhood" what with all her massive brain damage PLUS uncontrollable psychic powers. Dawn was simply the worst written character of the last two seasons, in my opinion. She essentially hung around just to be useless, annoy the other characters and get kidnapped all the time. She was Aquaman. The only time I ever liked Connor was in Season 5. In his earlier episodes I thought that he seemed way too intelligent to be so easily manipulated all the time. Whether it was Holtz, or Cordy, or Jasmine, or even nobody at all, it just frustrated me to no end that he'd believe any insane idea in the world rather than just accept that Angel was a good person.

A punch in the face hurts exactly the same whether it was done because of racial hatred or to steal your wallet. Thousands of dead people are just as dead no matter what the reasons behind their murders was. A person's thoughts or motivation for committing a crime should have no bearing on their punishment.

Carolina Championship Wrestling Results (4/9/05)

God bless Terry Funk. -
useless moron Scott Keith's girlfriend XXXPosed
Jingus replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
Scott ran the site way back when it was called The Smarks kinda like how Dames has run it ever since then. During his reign, he was indeed a huge dick and would ban people for little or no reason. And he basically jumped ship and abandoned the website once he got the gig writing for 411. That's why he still has heat 'round these parts. -
I'm going to buy Jasmin's 3PW promotion
Jingus replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
I just checked the auction, and found out that nobody bid, bwahaha. The idea of asking 180 grand for an indy wrestling promotion... well, there are terms like "incredibly bloody stupid" and "mindfuckingly ludicrous", but those terms, fine as they are, just don't accurately convey the truly amazing volume of crack that must've been smoked in order to come up with that figure. Especially when you consider that buying the promotion basically nets you nothing but a ring and a videotape library of just a couple dozen shows. -
I'm with the others who don't really see any pressing need for change. Some folders are just slower than others, and which folders are which does tend to change over time. Puro is indeed about as lively as Terri Schiavo, but Misc and TNA both have enough posts to keep them separate entities. And merging General with any other folder is a terrible idea.

That looks like a decent card, surprisingly enough. The main event has enough competent guys in it to balance out the choads, the X division stuff all looks entertaining, and Raven is one of the few people I'd pay money to see Hardy wrestle at this point. Too bad that EVERY FUCKING MATCH IS INSIDE OF A CAGE which almost guarantees a night of repetitious boredom and matches that all look alike.

I was surprised at the incredible resumes of some of these people. Former governor of Connecticut, former president of CBS sports, some guy who's been putting wrestling on TV for over forty years, etc. Vince surely does aim high with his executives.

I thought it was kinda middling. Like, disappointing for having come from Alan Moore, but would've been really damn good if it'd been done by Joe Schmoe. But then again, it's been a long time since Watchmen, has Moore produced any "new classics" recently, in anyone's opinion? And furthermore, did Promethea have a Book 2?
-
Yeah, it was during Buffy & Angel's conversation at the beginning of the episode.
-
Too bad there couldn't have been one last wrestling show held there, though.

The real story on the Matt-Lita situation (DOI)
Jingus replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in The WWE Folder
What did Matt do wrong? Okay, he did publicize the affair. But then again, anyone who's been cheated on has the right to do that, in my opinion. Other than that, Matt got injured, got cheated on, and got fired. Man, he must've done something REAL bad in a previous life. -
He could heal just about any injury or illness, mental or physical. He could turn water into wine. He could somehow make bread & fishies spontaneously reproduce themselves in epic numbers. He could walk on water. And then you have the whole Crucifixion/sin deal.

Short answer: because the WWE wants Bill Behrens to run the television side of a new developmental territory in Atlanta, Deep South Wrestling, which is being promoted by "The Assassin" Jody Hamilton. This is all from half-remembered internet reports, I'm sure the big news sites have it archived: WWE supposedly thought about using Wildside as a developmental, and supposedly they sent Tommy Dreamer down to look at the facilities (which are a Fireflyesque kludge of wood and duct tape, it's one of those promotions that survived on little more than willpower, talent, and passion for da biz), and supposedly he came back with a big red frowny mark on their report card. So they decided to make an entirely new company, and hell, if Vince called YOU and asked you to train his future superstars, could you turn him down?

www.highspots.com It'll cost you three grand, but they make damn good rings.

Damn, Cheesala, you gotta quit bringing dat der logic into CE! Oh, and the explosion of pro-death sentiment is caused by 1.Bush's amazing ability to piss off millions of people just by existing, and 2.the Age Of Dat Der Internet, as was previously explained. An aggressive leader will always have people who wish him ill, and all our bright & shiny new technology has given them the chance to express their opinions in increasing numbers and increasingly bizarre fashion, as technology tends to do.

The thread is "If I had Jesus's powers", not "If I were Jesus".

A gimmick created by Agent of Oblivion

I'd start by resurrecting all of my dead friends and relatives. And then resurrect a comical variety of deceased celebrities. And then we'd all have a big party on the shores of Old Hickory Lake in beautiful Hendersonville, Tennessee. Shakespeare would direct his own stage version of The Tempest with a Who's Who cast culled from the graves of daisyfeeding actors, Owen Hart and Brian Pillman would be putting on a 1-hour Ironman match, I'd be amusing myself by walking across the lake over and over again, it'd be great.
-
If that were legal and cost effective, I would gladly adopt that system.

The whole monetary reward system is a bad idea. Schools are the place where the government is supposed to educate children on how to be a functional citizen. It's the LAST place we should offer money for something the kids should be doing anyway for ethical reasons.
-
But we're not talking about commercial enterprises that sell valued goods here; we're talking about friggin' casinos. Gambling as an industry is considered a slightly more ethical way to make a living than prostitution. It's basically making money off human weakness. They are parasites, by definition. Why should we be surprised at anything they do to protect their profits?
