    NFL Week 17

Eli needs to win this game, or I might kill myself. EDIT: Jesus Christ. I swear, the Giants are TRYING to lose.

    This week in the NBA

My god, the Knicks are the mosts inconsistent team ever. I even bet my dad they'd lose tonight, because I knew they'd come out flat. P.S- Houston needs to retire.

    And So it Begins

Maybe I'm biased, But I think they Yankees are better off next season. The reason they lost to the Sox was a. a horrible rotation, b. an over worked bullpen, and c. no depth. They've improved A and B a lot, and hopefully they'll be able to set up somde depth. The Sox improved a lot as well. Seriously, I can't wait for Schilling vs Johnson, its going to be nuts. I've got a question for you Al. the Post said that if the Yankees could get rid of Giambi, they were thinking of doing a platoon between Tino and Andy Phillips. How do you think that would work out?

    New number most likely.

    This week in the NBA

Knicks are still teasing me with an awesome victory over the Wolves last night. Marbury just fucking took over in the 4th quarter, with K. Thomas, Sweetney, and JYD basically shutting down Garnett.

What are Hideki Matsui's predicted stats?

    Baseball Books

I read the book, and loved it. I didn't really care for the numbers explanation in it, I was more intrigued in how Beane ran the As, especailly the whole trade deadline thing with the Red Sox/Mets/ Youkuliss.

    Bill James Handbook 2005

    NFL Week 16

Giants can't catch a fucking break. Eight in a row. *sigh*

    NFL Week 16

Eli looks decent today. Had a bad start, but hes been a lot better from the 2nd quarter on.

    This week in the NBA

So? I'd rather have 16 points in a win then 40 points in a loss.

    This week in the NBA

Kobe didn't win the personal war, Shaq did. The Heat won, thats what its all about.

    Walt Jocketty Is The Man..

Thats because you'd rather follow a team that actually wins, unlike the Mets.

    Walt Jocketty Is The Man..

No, it wasn't Michaels either. I forgot his name, but he was black, and wore glasses. I drawing a blank.

    Walt Jocketty Is The Man..

Steinbrenner aside, Cashman is typically good when allowed to do his thing. The Brosius deal was amazing, as well as picking up O'Neil and Tino when their stock was down somewhat. the Yankees have made their share of dumb moves though, and sometimes it's hard to tell what was Cashman and what was King George. I'd say it's a fairly even split with them on boners, though the obvious ones usually land with George (Irabu, Lofton etc.). He does have, even with KG, the biggest bankroll to work with though, and it's impossible to say how he'd do with a smaller market, say, half of what NY spends. My gut says he'd do well, helped by his experience in NY, but I can't be 100% sure. It's really a blessing/curse type thing in NY, and the fact that he looks eternally stressed out really doesn't shock me Cashman wasn't GM when they traded for O'Neil.

To this day, I stand can't believe the ump could have seen the tag applied. Sometimes I think umps don't even know if hes safe or not, and just do something shocking to pidd the fans off.

I know this is offtopic. but how do you rank Cashman as a GM Al?

    And So it Begins

They overpaid a LITTLE? The guys never had more than 80 RBIS in one season. Is he actually going to have the C on his jersey? Jeter doesn't even have that. EDIT: But, Jeter does things on the field, i.e "the flip" that don't go in the stat book. And I think Jeter got his contract in two-thousand, as he had a monster 99 year.

    And So it Begins

How the hell did he have a 6.75 ERA?!? I really do hope he can keep it up, as he was a beast against the Sox in the ALCS.

    And So it Begins

Al, do you think Sturtze will be able to keep up his 2nd have success, or was it just a hot streak?
  23. mike546

    And So it Begins

Wright wasn't going to settle for anything less. Benson fucked everything up. And about Wolmack. As long as he plays good D, and can atleast do SOMETHING offensivley, he'll be fine.
  24. mike546

    And So it Begins

Yanks made a lot of deals. Stanton, F-Rod, Pavano, Wright, Wolmack, plus maybe Beltran and RJ.
