The Countdown to Beltran with Yankees Topic

And I think all Yankee fans want Tino back. Screw Giambi and his contract, Tino would be the perfect fit. Sure hes declining, but he'd be a great clubhouse presince, and bring a good glove. If your the Yankees, do you trade Giambi, eat most of his contract, and bring in Tino? They sure as hell would pay for it, but it'd work out in the field, and allow everybody to get the playing time they need. Highly unlikey? Yes. Impossible? No.

I think Odaliz lost a TON of money with the postseason he had.

Rocker was the Braves closer from 99 to 02, right? That would be one WS appearance.

But the Braves don't win a lot in the post season. The fuck? Has the world gone mad?!?

How long was he the closer in the playoffs for that team? Only two years, right? Thats a whole lot of innings.

I'm saying if they do sign Beltran, somebody's losing ABs.

Lieber was reliable for the last two months of the season. But Giambi can't play first everyday. And because of this, he'll HAVE to play more games at first, which means a whole lot less D. How can they put Matsui in CF if Beltrans there?

I see your point, but I just can't see Joe Kennedy starting for the Yankees in a playoff series. Maybe I'm just used to reliable starters, but I just can't see it. I'd think Wells, even at his age, would be a smarter choice. I don't think hes going to cost much for one year. Kennedy is younger, but the Yankees want to win now, not in 2 or 3 years. What corner is Bernie going to with Sheff and Matsui?

Better than his 40+ save year with Boston?

By signing Conine AND having Beltran, you'd now have to make time for Giambi and him at first place, while you can't play Giambi at irst everyday, which takes ABs away from Bernie, whos backup, Kenny Lofton, wants to start. If the Yankees signed Conine, he'd become a pinch hitter. And I'm not sure hes ready to do that when hes still a respectable hitter. And no way would I sign Kennedy. He was horrible for the D-Rays pitching in a pitchers park. I'd like to see him consistent before he put in the rotation.

If Gordon wasn't overworked, his stats would be even better. For the first half of the season, I (and most other Yankee fans) had more faith in him than Rivera. He was that dominant. Wait a minute, Gabe White is actually on the list? Good god.

Most of Mo's walks were due to the fact he started throwing the two seamer to righties this year.

No, Saults right. Jeter makes bad throws ALL the time. It happens atleast once every other game.

How the HELL is Foulke better then Mo when Mo has 53 saves, and Foulke has 33. Screw win shares, thats a TWENTY save difference. Mo had a 1.94 ERA, Foulke had a 2.17 ERA. Mo gave up 3 HRs, Foulke gave up 8. Mo had 4 BS, Foulke had 7. Mo gave up 17 runs, Foulke 22. All these stats are close, but Mo is better in all of them.

The ALCS: New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox

The preseason games are meaningless, and the Giants and Jets are regular season. There's got to be another one somewhere. Javy's salvageable. But there is NO CHANCE the Yankees will get rid of Jason Giambi, without eating 80-90% of his contract. I know that. I just want Giambi gone. Hell, I bet the Mets would take him. Giambi for Glavine, straight up~! Al, do you think theres a way to get rid of Brown?

Can anybody tell me a worse week in NY sports history? Yankees lose to the Sox and choke, Knicks lose three pre season games by a total of 82 points, and the Jets and Giants both lose. Doesn't Konerko play first base? How about Giambi and Javy for Konerko Freddy Garcia?

    NFL Week 7

The Giants looked awful today. Pretty much everything expected going into this season happened. Warner is sacked five times, throws a key interception in the end zone, fumbles twice, Giants can't score in the red zone, and the Giants D can't stop anything.

Most players strikeout on pitches that are called strikes, but really 2 feet inside.

I hope the Yankees are watching this. IT IS POSSIBLE TO HIT FOULKE. And my god was that hilarious. You know, if the Sox lose this series, I hope the media finally agnoliges how bad a playoffs Manny has had.

Brosious also had a career year that year aswell. 20 + HRs and 98 RBIs. The bottom of the lineup that year was just as good as the top.
