I don't understand why Edwar hasn't been called up yet. I'm dreading a Karstens/Brower appearance this weekend.
-
Watch him hit out produce the entire Dodger lineup this weekend. Still great news, hope he does well. Well he's 2 RBI's short right now, he just hit a 3 run HRer. edit: for tonight, anyway.
-
Well I've looked everywhere on the web for anything that would be considered "sad", and there's nothing on the Yankees site or ESPN or anywhere else.
-
Its Clemens suspension I think. He got 5 games and Torre got 1.
-
I've had enough of Karstens. Ian Kennedy is being underated I think. No one really talks about him compared to Hughes and Chamberlin, and I know he doesn't throw as hard as the other two, but the guy can pitch. His stats match up with anyone pitching the minors this year. last night 6 IP, 9 Ks, 0R.
-
Joba's debut - 2 IP, 1 H, 2 Ks, 2 Bs. He has a really nasty slider, hitters could not lay off. He hits 96-98 pretty damn easy, but he wasn't locating his fastball very well. Nice performance.
-
I guess they brought Joba up on the right day. Someone's getting a 100 MPH fastball in the ribs haha.
-
Yea with all the As problems when it comes to scoring runs Kielty can't be too great. He does crush lefties though supposedley.
-
Well with Joba up, the NYDaily News is reporting Edward Ramierz is being called up again before the end of the week. This sure is going to be risky, but they had to try somthing as this old bullpen was just not cutting it at all and was going nowhere. Joba/Edward/Viz/Farnsworth/Rivera/Bruney makes me a lot happier than Myers/Proctor/Farnsworth/Viz/Bruney/Rivera.

The first report was right, as Brower pitched in today's game. It's also very funny to see yankee fans go crazy when Mo struggles in April every year. In his ladt 36 innings, he has a 42Ks and 2 BBs. Thats a 10:1 K/B ratio!

No doubt experience comes into play. Brower is having an excellent season though, he's been just about automatic coming out of the bullpen this season. I don't think they're enthralled with Britton's conditioning. There is no other reason for him not to be in the majors as he already had a good season in Baltimore last year. But if you want a guy who doesn't flatten out the mound every time he pitches, that's a valid reason. Edwar left a bad impression his first time up. Hopefully he gets another shot because he's obviously too good for AAA. Brower's pitching great now though, and since he's a guy that has gotten the job done before in the majors, I think this is a solid move for the Yanks. As for Joba Chamberlain, I'd really like to see him stay in Scranton long enough to catch at least one pitching appearance. I don't know how wise it would be to call up a 21 year old kid to your bullpen who has only two games of experience in relief. I'm not sure which report is right, but the report from the NYPost says Joba was called up and will be active for todays game. The pregame comes o in 30 minutes so I guess I'll find out which report is right then.

Jim Brower? Over Edward Rameriz or Britton? I don't get that.
-
Joba's last relief appearance - 2 IP, 5 Ks, 1 H, 0 runs. They need to bring him up asap, the hitting has been fantastic but Detroit and Anaheim and Toronto are coming up and in close games this Myers/Farnsworth gap to Rivera will notttt cut it.
-
He hit a ball up the middle, it deflected off the foot of the pitcher, hit the top of the Yankees dugout and went into the stands.
-
It' not about the game, it's about the season. He's supposed to be the setup man, and he's just awful at it.
-
Kyle Farnsworth really really sucks. edit: really really really sucks.
-
I'd boo too if I knew my team was paying him a million per start to give up 8 runs. He wasn't really booed when he got taken out, anyway.
-
Roger sure didn't have it today. I actually saw this coming his K rate has gone down ans down since his first start and he's started to tail off.
-
Even Torre was disgusted over that.
-
Shelly Duncan aka Shane Spencer 2007.

How do you find the compare player thing on baseball reference? I haven't used the site in awhile and its not on the players like main page. edit: I can't find it for melky.

http://www.sportslogos.net/team.php?t=481 Basically every single logo from every allstar game shows the team/city where the game is being played. Its the last year ever of Yankee Stadium and it's not even over the top, I think it's realy well done. edit: Thats the wrong logo anyway. This is the real one - http://www.sportslogos.net/logo.php?lo=k1ql4blramyr5fj8lbkq

Why do I hear so much about Melky sucking in CF? He has 11 outfield assists and has a GREAT arm. He has decent to good range in CF.
-
If Torre pulls an Edwar Ramirez with Joba, aka pitching him once where he K's the side, not using him for three weeks then expecting him to be ready when he's used (where he sucked 18 pitches 2 strikes 1 Grand Slam) and then sends him back to Scranton, I will kill him. And Melky Cabrera is not a fringey 4th outfielder. He's producing in the major leagues at age 22. He's going to improve.
