Dude, Torre could have put Gordon in there if he felt like it, right after Quantrill. He was doing what T-Francona was doing, and saving his arms. They're so horrible, that they're in first place. Um, they're sure as hell not in first because of their pitching; starting or relief. That's for damn sure. If you wanna fool yourself into thinking you've got a real quality arm in that pen outside of Gordon and Rivera, shoot me a PM. I've got some magic beans I want to sell you. The bullpen has been our savior the whole year. First have of the season, it was Quantril for the 7th, Gordon for the 8th, and Mo for the 9th. Quantril's sucked the 2nd half, but Sturtze has really stepped it up. He shut the Sox down for 4 1/3rd last Friday, and gave an ininng 2/3rds of good relief last night. The rest of our bullpen blows. Heredia, Nitkoski, Proctor. bleh. I'm not sure why there not using Karsay, but I guess there trying to build his arm strength up.

I don't want to play Minnesota. At all. Let the Sox play Santana.
-
It does actually. Not much, but some. If the Yankees win, its over. They lose, its still possible.

Vazquez is dead to me. Isn't that sad though? Rewind time back five months to Javy's first start. Did anyone in the WORLD think he'd have these stats at the end of the season? Kinda depressing when you think about it.
-
OR, in an unlikely situation ... JavyGorMo.
-
Right now I do. And honestly, we need to SOMEBODY to ge through the 7th. If Sturtze can get through the 7th and 6th in a tie game in Fenway, he can get the job done.
-
Torre said, that after they got the lead in game one, they were prepared to let Gordon pitch 2 innings knowing he wouldn't pitch in game two. Like Anglesault, i'm not upset. The worst part of our bullpen blew it, we hit decently, and the worst we come out of this series is 3 1/2. Oh, and come playoffs, it better be SturGorMo.
-
Good call also. Huge hit for Posadaizzle.
-
See? Sturtze can actually get people out.
-
See, if Vazquez doesn't fucking give up a HR to DOUG MILLABERI, we might still be winning.
-
ugh. How depressing.
-
HIP-HIP! JORGE!
-
Oh well, atleast Javy looks ok so far. AHAHAHA!!! Millah~!
-
God. we can't hit Wake for shit.

Craig Brzail? How is being up .5 with a WEEK to play mean your automatically in?
-
Was the Sosa sit down a benching, or a defensive move? EDIT: Not everhbody can be Barry Bonds. Hell, most of the Yankees from the legacy are starting to run down. Bernie defintley is, but hes still productive. I'm not sure about Posada, but I think it just might be an off season for him.
-
Alright Chong. If your going to curse Sosa out, do it now. 4Ks and a GBDP.
-
Is this Diaz guy a good proscpect? From what I've seen of him in the last month, hes got some nice power.
-
He's right. Stars are supposed to carry teams, and get out of slumps. Jeter was batting 190 in May, hes raised his average 100+ points. Bonds carries his team on his shoulders, Pujlos doesn't need too. Obviously its no coicidence Sosa has struggled this year. Maybe hes just losing it.

How ironic speaking of the Cubs having no OBP. They walked six times today.
-
They called Cano up didn't they? If they have the division clinched by the last series of the season, I'd give him a couple starts.
-
He has SOME talent. 12 Hrs, 35 RBIs, 298 BA in 235 ABs. 523 slugging with an eh .333 OBP.

If you live in the Tri-state area, you should have been listening to Russo on the FAN today. He went NUTS on the Giants.
