Pavano leaves his rehab start in the 1st inning with "discomfort" in his left tricep. Jesus christ.

Better than having to watch that 19-11 Yanks/Devil Rays game over and over again.

POSADA BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!
-
Atleast A-Rod hit it hard this time with the game on the line, it's a start.
-
Scott Proctor = Torre'd.

Ok, that post came off wrong. I'm not saying Phillips CAN'T be succesful, I just can see him being succesful when he can't hit a MLB type breaking pitch.
-
Ok, I know Phillips has two doubles tonight, but if you watched his last AB, do you know what I'm talking about Al?
-
It's not even the fact that he hasn't been succesful in his career, its just hes looked so overmatched every single time hes been called up, and its just so obvious he can't hit anything off speed.

I don't put much stock in Giambi's DH/1B splits, as that's a function of him happening to play DH more in the first half last year, and first in the second half. I'm not sure what you heard about Duncan, but his stats indicate that his OBP and slugging percentage are both under .300. The Yankees are second in the league in runs allowed, so that's not their problem. Even if it were, Jose Veras and Colter Bean are available. Here's an ideal Yankee lineup, looking at BPro's projections... C- Posada 1B- Pena 2B- Cano SS- Jeter 3B- Rodriguez LF- B. Williams CF- Damon RF- Thompson DH- Reese The trouble is that two of those guys are in Columbus. Miguel Cairo is not a better hitter than any of the scrubs currently in the outfield. Andy Phillips is never going to be a MLB player. Ever. He's been given chances over the last two years and still can't hit anything but a fastball, and he has no plate disipline. That's an awfully harsh assessment. His projections peg him as a .255 hitter with a .317 OBP. That's not too good, but it's something in the meantime. It's not like Bubba Crosby has ever hit MLB pitching. But then again, Carlos Pena's still hitting in Columbus too. I'm sorry, but until he learns to hit a breaking ball or any other pitch beside a fastball hes just not going to be very succesful.

Small's deal with the devil is officially over.

And now Giambis hurt. fuck.
-
The Yankees REALLY miss Sheffield and Matsui. They can't hit for shit right now.
-
Logan, watch out, Jack Bauer is bringing justice upon your ass.
-
Yankees with the smallball! Cano with smart baserunning leads to a run!
-
A-Rods contract isn't terible for the Yankees, Texas is paying a LOT of it.

I don't care how high the payroll is. It's not like this team's payroll is equal to the amount of money the actual team is worth it. When your payrolls 175 million, do you REALLY expect to have a rotation of Randy Johnson, Mike Mussina, Wang, Chacon, and Jarret Wright!?!? And a bullpen consistening of Ron Villone, Scott Proctor, Mike Myers, Tanyon Sturtze, Farnsworth, and Mo? Is Jeter really worth what hes being payed? Is Giambi worth what he's being payed? Is A-Rod worth what hes being payed? I wonder if theres a system that tells you how much a team is really worth. Because I KNOW the Yankees aren't worth how much their being payed.
-
And Scott Erikson pitches a perfect 7th inning! Suck on that haters!
-
How long until he's a Yankee? Coming from the team that has acquired Tom Glavine, Pedro Martinez, Carlos Beltran, Carlos Delgado, Cliff Floyd, and Paul Lo Duca and Billy Wagner in the last couple years. I've heard more Met and Cubs bitchin' than Yankee bitching (beside coming from NYyankees) this year.
-
Torre already doesn't trust him that much. I don't think it'll be a big deal in the playoffs with Mo going for two inning saves.
-
He was brought in as a non-roster invite and had a really good spring.
-
Matt Smith is next to him doing the same thing.
-
Scott Proctor has just been AMAZING this year for the Yanks and has been a savior in the bullpen. Hes gotten his breaking ball over which has really given him another pitch beside his 97 MPH fastball. But Torres used him a lot so far and I have a feeling he's going to be Quantril'ed or Gordan'ed by the end of the year. In good news, STURTZE~! has gone on the DL, which hopefully means he'll be gone soon, with Pavano or Dotel coming back.
-
come onnnnn christ can't you just get a big hit against these guys once!?!?!? AHH.
-
Yea because he didn't make a great play even getting to that ball?
