He should be flogged on general principle for bringing in Tanyon Sturtze.

I understand what your saying, but Matsui hasn't missed a MLB game in his career, and has some insane games played streak going including his days in Japan, so he really shouldn't be considered a "veteran" who breaks down. edit; Rolled his wrist over on a diving catch

I think most of the Yanks + RJ = WS came at the 04 deadline when they didn't get him. I honestly believe they would have won the WS EASILY that year had they gotten him.

It's not even about the loss its just the fact Randy just looks lost on the mound.

I've never seen a pitcher just lose his confidence like this. Randy Johnson has NOTHING left.

Randy Johnson has completley lost his confidence. Wow.

    NBA Most Valuable Player

Sorry, but that's just ignorant, Chauncy is cold blooded in clutch time, and constantly makes big shots. I'd say he's more clutch than anyone else in the league. Carmelo?

I am completley shocked how good Mike Mussina has been this year. I REALLY thought this was the year he was going to totally fall apart, but hes just been terrific. Like Schilling, with his fastball losing some "umph" hes slowed down all his breaking pitches to make his fastball seem faster than it really is. Hes been our ace.

    NHL 2006 Playoffs thread...

I'm not saying the MVP is decided by the playoffs, I'm saying the performances of both Jagr and Thorton in the playoffs showed that Jagr is more essential to the Rangers than Thorton is to San Jose. The Rangers CAN'T DO SHIT without Jagr, while Thorton had Marleau, and Cheecho (Yes Thorton made him better but he had 30 freaking goals the year before.) I'm sorry, Jagr was SOLEY responsible for the career years of Nylander and Straka, who both can't finish for shit. Put a legitamite sniper on Jagrs line and I bet he has atleast 150 points. Add in the fact the Jagr had NOBODY in the D corps to pass to, I'm just sorry, he was the MVP. The Rangers were absolutley NOTHING without him. Of course Thorton had a incredible season, but the Rangers are DEAD DEAD DEAD last without Jagr.

    NHL 2006 Playoffs thread...

Ok. Both Jagr (injured basically the entire series) and Thorton (no goals) were pretty quiet in their first round series. The Rangers did NOTHING offensivley, and couldn't score or generate offense at all, while San jose was FINE with Thorton with Marleau and Cheecho and Ekman all on this team scoring! I'm sorry Jagr is the MVP of the NHL its just a fact. The Rangers are SHIT without him.

    NHL 2006 Playoffs thread...

Yea, even after being humiliated in four straight games the NY crowd gave the Rangers a long standing ovation, and the whole team did their center ice salute to the crowd after the game.

    NHL 2006 Playoffs thread...

HE DOES NOT SUCK. He has personal issues and was forced to come back far too soon by Burke, because Burke obviously wanted to get something out of him. It's unfair to him, not to you. Ozolinsh has never been anything more than decent in his defensive zone. The Rangers knew this. They traded for him. That's their fault, and he's not coming back to the league. He has other things that he needs to deal with, just like Theo Fleury apparently still does. But he wasn't "decent" in his own zone, he was fucking terrible. He singlehandidly made this team worse when he joined the Rangers. Watch the D before and after he joined and theres just a HUGE difference. If he had given us two points every night, I can look past the D, but near the end of the season he was so shitty the offensive zone its ridiculous.

    NHL 2006 Playoffs thread...

Drats was a "good offensive defenseman"? Thats why he had 3 points with us and was like the only negative player on the team? Drats was expendible because we have Tyutin, Baranka, STAAL, and Pock all down in the minors ready to play. No doubt in my mind both Staal and Pock are on the Rangers blueline to start the season. and before Ozo came to the Rangers, their "terrible" D had allowed the 3rd least amount of goals in the NHL. Sure Henrik had a lot to do with it but they were very very good until Ozo came over. If he were putting up points every game in the playoffs fine, but he did cost us game 3 and four. He pinched for some stupid reason in game 3 to allow them to score first, then scored an own goal. with MSG going INSANE at the start of game 3, he for no reason at all tries to pinch in which leads to a goal a minute into the game which kills the crowd. I'm sorry he sucks he sucks he sucks and he better not be on this team next year.

I heard that he was homesick right after the trade and wanted to go back to Russia.

How in the hell did Sather get fleeced for Sykora? He traded him for Drats who hasn't played again this season and might be headed back to Russia.

    NHL 2006 Playoffs thread...

In worse news, Ozo was caught by the cops in white plains, NY for a DUI, AND he's only retired from his national team. This deal for him was just so bad. He comes in an ruins are perfectly steady defense, loses two playoff games by himself, and now is back on alchol and he's got another year left on his contract!?!?

Will someone tell Joe Torre that Tanyon Sturtze just SUCKS ASS? It seems everyone in the world realizes this beside him.

It's one thing if he gives up one to Tony Womack, but Ortiz is perhaps the best hitting lefty in the game. Is it really fair to cross off Myers for that? No, I'm just annoyed anybody who pitches to Ortiz on the Yankees turns into crap.
