Question, was Pennington benched for a period in the game? When I glanced over to the game, I heard the announcers say Fielder goes back to the bench as Pennington comes back in.

Bernie got a standing O. edit: I hate rookies sometimes. edit2: Yankees hitting is down right pathetic. Hack hack hack at everything, trying to hit Hrers.
-
Wow, I just realized that. I Cannot imagine a Yankee team without him. It'd be, weird.

If only RF in Camden Yards was shorter. Grr.

Fourth time in history, and first time in 12 years (Toronto, 1991-92; Colorado, 1993) That was a surprising stat to me. Did they add seats to Yankee Stadium this season? How have the Yankees never passed 4 million in attendance before? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mostly it is the uncertaincy of the season creating exciting drama, as well as the threat of Yankee Stadium closing shop that encourages fans to attend while they can. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No it's not. It's the fact that the Yankees have built up their fan base the past 10 years and have had a growing attendance every year since 1996. Dont quote me on figures but every eyar their home attendance goes up. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, Al is defintley right. There are only 3 more years to see a game in Yankee Stadium. THAT defintley has something to do with it. Plus, as Al said, the fact that EVERY single game is important.

Don't think anybody was going to hit Batista today. Although, the shade probably had something to do with it with the numbers Sheff, Matsui and Posada had against him.
-
Giambi needs to sit on the bench and rest. Fouled two fastballs in his wheelhouse, and grounded foul a hanging splitter. Yankees leave 11 men left on, and have 8 hits.
-
Na, they won't pitch to him. Good move, because Giambi's swing is all messed up right now with his bad back. Edit: Taking out Frazier for Batista?! THANK YOU GIBBONS!

Yankees again have more runners left on than hits. Why do they refuse to score with runners on?
-
Even after this great performance by Small, I bet Torre still leaves Wright in the rotation.
-
Yankees should have gotten out of the inning with no runs, but Cano makes a 2 run error.
-
The announcers wonder why Wright always gets hit on the mound. Maybe because the hitters are always smashing the ball?
-
Can the Yankees send Jarret Wright to the bullpen? Please?
-
I'm guessing Bell is safe for awhile, Philly fans?

Nothing satisfies you Don, does it?

15 straight scoreless innings for Shawn Chacon. The man has been a godsend.
-
Can the Yankees have on easy game? Just one?
-
Maybe because hes an annoying homer, never says anything beside talk about how amazing the Yankees are, doesn't know a home run from a flyout, doesn't give any details on whats happening in the game, and basically totally blocks off Susyan Waldman (actually not a bad thing). Am I missing anything?

With Foulke out, I'm guessing Hansen is making the post season roster?
-
Yankees should tell Mussina hes on an 80 pitch count limit every start. Watching him throw strike after strike is a lot more fun than watching him nibble all the time. Also, boy has A-Rod struck out a lot lately.
-
Too bad Moose can only go 80 pitches. He has nasty stuff tonight. Speaking of which, the Yanks look terrible against Bruce Chen.
-
Is Ozzie on crack? How do you not play the infield in when your up a run in the 9th??
-
I ashamed of myself for saying the guys who told George to get Javy instead of keeping Andy is a genius. edit: Tied at six in Chicago! I know I should be rooting for the Sox at this point, but I see the Indians passing them.

God is Allan Embree useless. Just terrible.
