It really was a big win, when you think about it. Were still 6.5 behind the Os, only 5.5 out of the wild card, and all this with RJ going today. A loss last night would have been killer.

Everything at the old stadium is gonna stay the same beside them moving monument park and taking away the upper decks.
-
HOLY MOTHER OF GOD. That was Bonds vs Lilly territory. If that doesn't get Giambi going, I don't know what will. edit: Brown left the game with back spasms ugh.
-
The thing is, it didn't EVEN cross the plate. It had amazing late movement, and completley curved around it.
-
While it *might* have been more important, the strike call on Giambi was pathetically obviously a ball. It wasn't even close.
-
Edit: Nevermind, A-Rod was being a dumbass.
-
Fuck these umps. Called a 1-1 pitch to Giambi a strike that was 8 feet outside, and a 2-1 pitch a strike to Cano that was 8 feet inside. And Tanyon Sturtze has morphed back into Tampa Tanyon, giving up 2 HRers in 2 innings. Gah.

Brown leaves the game with an elbow injury. Sean Henn, welcome back. Edit: I hate this team. I really do. They refuse to do anything right.

I'm not saying it was stupid he predicted the Twins to beat us. I'm saying his reasoning was stupid. Sheff, A-Rod and Matsui aren't scary?!?
-
Hes the same guy who predicted the Twins would beat the Yankees in the playoffs last year because no one in that lineup "scares" him beside Jeter.

I just checked, and from July 3rd to August 14th, the Yankees schedule is brutal. In order, Baltimore, Clevland, Boston, Texas, Angels, Minnesota, Angels, Clevland, Toronto, White Sox, and Texas. They need to totally own the rest of this month, or their doomed. Nice win tonight though, just wish Moose was more consistent.

sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=cnnsi-bronxbum&prov=cnnsi&type=lgns That sums up the total suckage that is Tony Womack.
-
The thing is, Giambi actually is hitting. Hes getting a ton of hits, and has *just* missed a lot of HRers lately. Tino's the one who hasn't a lick since his week of awesomeness.
-
Ugh. Whats wrong with Yankee Stadium? Honestly?
-
I don't want to trade Sheff, but the guy has been pathetic lately. I don't even care for the fact hes not hitting, I'm angry for the fact hes not hustling, and making stupid boneheaded plays in the field. If you find a tape of Fridays game against the Cards, you'll see what I'm talking about. As Toree said yesterday, this homestand is crcuial in how this season ends. If they get 9+ wins, nobody big is getting traded. If they continue to suck, then things change.
-
Womack doesn't fit in the AL. Hes defitnley more suited for a national league team, thats all I'm saying.
-
After watching the 8th inning of the Os game, I'm guessing that what Hawkins was to the Cubs, Julio is to the Os?
-
Wouldn't a national league team, where Womack is more needed in, say, the Padres without Mark Loretta for awhile, wouldn't be interested in him? Hes not making much, I think like 2 million, which the Yankees could pay.
-
I've been correct by TWO different people for the spelling of his name. First I spelt it Wolmack, someone says there is no L. Then I spell it Womack, and I'm told there is an L. Edit: Your right.
-
I'm putting the last two weeks behind me, and moving on. Pirates, Cubs, Mets, D-Rays. The Yanks need a minimum of nine wins on this homestand. I'm trying to take some positives out of the road trip. How Mo has been basically unhittable since April 3rd, how RJ looked like the old RJ on Saturday, and how Pavano shut down the Cards. Everyone else was crappy. For sure, Wolmack needs to go. I don't know where, but he needs to be traded ASAP.As trade rumors start, If anything, the Yanks need another reliever, and need to trade for an OF with some pop.
-
Question for Al or anyone else who can answer. Who is this Philip Hughes guy in the Yankees system? Hes absolutley tearing up Single A. Is he that good?
-
Great day to turn back the clock to the Devil Ray days Tanyon, ugh. Today was a must win. *sigh* The odd thing is, our bullpen has been our only sure thing this year. Since Mo blew two saves against the Sox, him Gordon and Sturtze had combined for 57 innings and 7 total runs. Everyone else can go away.
-
Having rookies in your lineup and watching their fuckups is hard to get used to. 2nd and 3rd, one out for the Yanks with Cano up and Pavano on deck. Obviously, Morris is going to pitch around Cano to get to Pavano. Cano doesn't understand, and pops out on the 2nd pitch.
-
Why do pitchers throw Cliff Floyd fastballs? Honestly?

Anybody watching Tysons post fight press conference? For a guy whos bitten someones ear off, I can't help but like the guy.
