Yankees get good news as Austin Jackson decides to play baseball instead of basketball, and signs with the Yanks. He was ranked the 77th best prospect in the draft, but fell to the 8th round due to him looking like he was headed to GT before the draft.

That Manny AB was horrible pitching by Dempster imo. Yea, throw outside a couple times, but you EVENTUALLY have to throw inside, or what Manny did was obviously going to happen.
-
The Cubs sure don't like ending games easily.
-
Today is RJs third start of the year where he needs to save the Yankees asses. Hes 0 for 2 so far.

MLB instruction video: HOW NOT TO PLAY THE GAME! Titled: Yankees vs Cardinals, June 10, 2005. God do the Yankees suck.

Fuck giving up Cano if we try to get Zito at the deadline, if hes even being let go. With the way things are going, i see no one player being availale at the deadline worth giving up Cano.

All their stats are basically pretty equal, with Sorianos HRers towering above everyone elses, and Sorianos OBP being a bit lower.
-
I didn't say he wasn't. I'm just saying at the time, specifically the entire 03 playoffs, you could throw him a slider down and away, and he'd swing and miss at everyone. Not to say he hasn't improved, because he probably has.
-
To me, theres a difference between Cano not being disciplined at the plate, and Soriano not being disciplined at the plate. From what I've seen, Cano has a good eye, he just swings at everything close. He also doesn't swing at the Soriano slider, which is already an improvement.

Question for Al. For all the stuff on how bad the Yankees farm system is, and it is, both Cano and especailly Wang have been very impressive. From what I've seen of Cano, hes a very streaky hitter with good power to both sides of the field. Wang has a great presence, is third in the majors in 1,2,3 innings, and has been just terrific. So I'm wondering, how good can these to be in the majors?

Even though I'm a huge UCONN fan, I don't want the Knicks taking Villanueva. Hes ok, but hes not explosive, isn't really that great on offense, and I could definitley see him failing in the NBA.

A-Rod hits a 2 run HRer, giving the Yankees two runs. I think I forgot what those were for awhile.
-
The Yankees are never going to score more than four runs ever again. No runs and two hits tonight. and in their last 25 times with the bases loaded, their 0 for 25.
-
Bases loaded no out and we can't score. We seriously are the Oakland As.
-
I can understand that. I can't understand him falling so much wheres hes getting shelled and allowing lazer hits every inning.
-
I just don't get it. How does a HOF with such amazing stats last year, fall so quickly? Sure its the 1st inning, but hes getting hammered. edit: make that 2-0. edit2: EVERY SINGLE BATTER just killed the ball in this inning. Everyone one.

RJ pitches in his 2nd save the Yankees game this season. Hes 0/1 so far, lets see if he can beat the Brewers.

Well I don't know, aren't they missing that guy? Whats his name again?
-
Two on and no out with A-Rod, Giambi and Posada coming up and we can't score. Ugh. edit: Again, I usually don't get angry at Joe for anything, but when Sturtze, Gordon and Mo combined haven't given up a run in their last total 24 appearances, YOU USE THEM when your starter is obviously gassed.

Joe Torre is on crack today, leaving Brown in way too fucking long.

I was referring to Johnson as the first baseman. Martinez really was not that bad in St. Louis. Look at his OPS+ trend. 110, 86, 115 in New York his last three seasons there. He moves to St. Louis where he posts figures 108 and 106. He declined, but that had every indication of a normal aging curve. Now he moves into a park where left handed hitters thrive, and his stock is up again. To be fair, Martinez deserves all the credit for his recent success. I never saw it coming. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, he actually hasn't done a damn thing since his week of glory, but I'll take that week as enough.
-
Well, Tino had a pretty rapid downfall his first two seaons in St. Louis. Or do you think those were flukes?
-
That was way to close to being De Ja Vu all over again. edit: Yankees need to bring back the 96 mojo. "We play today, we win today - that's it."

At this point, you should be happy its tied.
