I thank the the Phillies for taking him away from the Yanks. He was a cancer.

Glavine looked awful tonight. And my god, everytime I switch to the Met game, I see two Met runners on base. they've scored only three? wow.

    Yankee dynasty officially over

One of the reasons I THINK hes struggled is he totally changed his workout plan this offseason. What was this new plan? Not picking up a ball once due to pitching so much last year. I don't think its a coincidence it was against the Sox, but I think he just needs to get some more work, and he'll be fine. EDIT: Marianos really ownly blown 2, maybe three of those saves. Today would have not happened if A-Rods not a dumbass, and his game 5 BS is a pathetic stat, considering he came on with 1st and 3rd no outs after throwing like a billion pitches the night before, and goes on to get SIX straight outs.

This sucks. Mo needs to get rid of the two seamer. Its the reason for all of his walks.

Missed the game again. Before I go into hibernation until friday night to avoid the media all over Rivera, PLEASE tell me how easy A-Rods grounder was, because its a lot easier to hate him.

Gordon the first half last year was basically unhittable. I honestly started trusting him more than Mo at one point.

I didn't see the game as I was at school, but how did Pavano look?

You know, your obviously not going to NOT put your closer in the game, but does anyone beside me think they need to hide Mo away from the Sox once in awhile, or figure out something, because hes faced them so many god damn times, they know how to hit him.

Lilly had a 120 ERA+ last year. And he wasn't traded for Clemens (David Wells was). He was traded for some guy named Weaver. Think the Yanks won that trade? Whoops. But Lilly REALLY wasn't working in New York. They gave him chance after chance after chance, but he always had that 5th inning curse. When it came to getting past that inning, and getting a win, HE COULD NEVER DO IT. Not to say Weaver did any better, but still.

I'd say Lilly is a complete washout, considering how well Clemens did as a Yank.

Being Carlos. Basically celebrating getting out of a jam while informing the umpire he disagrees with his calling on certain pitches in the polite manner than Carlos is known for. In his case, I thought the ump was squeezing Zambrano really badly during that inning.

I have a question. Beside the fact that I KNEW Randy Johnson was an amazing pitcher, and from the fact I’ve seen his stats, I haven’t actually SEEN much of him in my lifetime. I know that’s sad, but I tend to forget the 01 WS, and the only time the Yanks faced him since was a game we beat him up pretty bad. So after watching the game, I was a bit confused. He pitched well, but wasn’t the complete OVER POWERING pitcher I expected. I think it was just because it was his first start. My question is, is Johnson the COMPLETE DOMINATING pitcher he’s made out to be, or not? Oh, and I'd like to hand out a personal "told ya so" to Al. Even though it was only two innings, Sturtze was NASTY again, just like all spring. Fluke my ass.

    Spring Training

Even though Rube IS batting .373 against Wells, it totally sucks he doesn't get to start tomorrow. And while I'm at it, I really hope the Yankees totally blow out the Sox early, or the Sox totally blow out the Yankees early, as I REALLY wan't to watch Mania in some way of peace.

    Anti Semetic Chess Guy?

Did anybody see that thing on sports center on the guy whos a criminal in the US? His whole interview was fucking disgusting, and being Jewish, I wanted to punch the guy in the face. The whole Jeremy Shapp thing was surreal, and I seriously marked out when Shapp told him off. Anybody else see it?

Remember that two game strech when he first came up, hit a HR, had like five amazing plays, and everybody in NY had him as a ROTYC?

    Spring Training

Eh, He'll get SOME starts, but the option I forgot is Matsui playing CF when Bernie sits, and Sierra can play in left.

    Spring Training

Basically, things are over crowded in the Yanks lineup. Bernie is NOT going to play CF every day, so he'll DH about 50-60 games. Giambi and Tino will split time at first, with Giambi DHing when Bernie plays CF. When Tino isn't playing, or Giambi isn't playing, Rube DHs. Thats one of the reasons in my opinion that getting Beltran was near impossible. No room.

    Spring Training

Unless Tino or Giambi fall off the planet, he won't make the team. Although I'd like to see him as the backup 2nd baseman, as I don't think the Yankees have one.

    Spring Training

I don't know much about the minor leagues, so any help on Andy Phillips could be helpful. Hes havin an absolutely great spring, batting .344 with 4 HRs and 14 RBIs. I know its spring training, but hes looked good. And about Tanyon Sturtze, 14 innings, one run.

It isn't much, but I chose the WS in 01 over Halloween.

    This week in the NBA

Speaking of ball hogs, theres an insider article on espn where this odd formula is used to calculate basically whos the biggest ballhog in the NBA. The data shows AI is number one, but thats doesn't really count, because he has too hold the ball all the time to pass, and shoot to keep the Sixers in the game. Kobe is number 2, followed by Jermaine O'Neal, Lebron, McGrady, Wade and then Webber. Heres the formula: Using a stat I call Usage Rate, we can determine how many possessions a player uses per 40 minutes. Usage Rate adds a player's shot attempts, turnovers, As with my other methods, I multiply free-throw attempts by 0.44 to put them on equal footing with field-goal attempts. Also, assists are valued at one-third, since of the three acts involved in the play – getting open, making the pass and making the shot – the passer only did one. Dividing that result by the player's minutes and multiplying by 40 makes it a per-minute rating. Finally, I multiply the whole thing by the league average pace and divide by the player's team's pace, thus leveling the ground for players on fast- and slow-paced teams. Written by John Hollinger

    This week in the NBA

Allen Iverson arguabley got the Sixers to the finals on his back. And no disrespect to the Derek McKies, Eric Snows, who were playing well, but AI was DEFINTLEY being double and triple teamed, and got the Sixers to the NBA finals.
