I can't think of who might show up from the current team, but there are a lot of suspects from '04 team. Damon, Nixon and Millar all seem like decent bets. As for current and former Yankees, Giambi, Sheffield, Clemens and Pettitte will most likely be there. I have never understood the Pettite steroid thing. I seriously doubt he's on the list. Just because he started following Clemens routine, does not means he took steroids.

The shit is going to hit the fan tomorrow. Mike and the Mad Dogg got a list of names of players from the Mitchell Report today and were seriously in shock at some of the names. They didn't reveal them, but they hinted that current Yankees, Red Sox and Brave players are on the list.

    NHL Thread - December 2007

Tom Renney needs to cut the shit and get Dubsinky off the 1st line. He's been impressive for a 21 year old, but he's in over his head. Drury, Mr. 7 million per year, needs to be put on the 1st line. The Rangers offense is digustingly awful.

I think the Yankees would rather move Damon than Matsui. Although that's probably not going to happen.

Matsui is not going to sit on the bench. If anything, Giambi is going to see little to no playing time this year because of the crowded OF.

I knoe his range is bad, but the guy has put up 4 straight years of 850+ OPS. He's a consistent run producer. He's not a 4th outfielder.

Will Carrol says the deal is done and its Lester, either Coco or Ellsbury (he reported a CF), Masterson and Kallish. If the CF isn't Ellsbury I might kill myself.

The biggest problem I have is that the Twins want both Hughes AND Kennedy. I wouldn't mind giving up a package of Hughes/Melky/Horne, it's just ridiculous the Twins might take Lester/Coco/Masterson/Lowrie when you could aruguably say both Hughes AND Kennedy are better if not equal to Lester. edit: I heard that the Twins offered Santana for Hughes/Melky/Marquez/Jackson or Horne last night.

    COUGHCOUGHWEEK13*

What is it with the Giants year after year with ridiculous amounts of injuries? Ward is out for the year with a broken Fibula. Burress is playing on one leg, our number one RB is out, our rookie number two CB is out, one of our starting LBers is out for the year, our number 3 reciever hasn't played since week two, and we also played today without both of our starting safties.

We seriously need a non-Yanks, non-Sox fan with understanding of the minor league talent (paging Al Keiper) to weigh in on these respective players. I tried to bring in outside analysis from Kevin Goldstein, but that was shunned. I really feel like the Yanks guys are overrating their talent. Hughes and Chamberlain are flat out monsters. I understand that. But everyone else is just sort of there, each with their own upside and potential faults. They are comparable to talents from many other teams. Just because Cashman likes to lump Kennedy in as the big 3 doesn't make it so. Why? Kennedy has dominated at every level hes been at. edit: I'm not trying to overate Yankee prospects, I just think it's insane that the Twins would accept a deal with the Sox without getting Ellsbury OR Bucholz.

If the Sox get Santana for Lester (a shitty half year and an ok half year when the guy has NEVER had any semblence of control) Crisp (28, not very good, and not getting any better), Lowrie (had a TERRIBLE year two years ago) and Masterson (who doesn't project to be anything but a 2 or 3 at best and doesn't have blolw away stats) It will be another example of the Sox getting a great player for a lot less than the Yanks would get him for. Melky is 23, cheaper than Coco and can get better, Kennedy was the minor league pitcher of the year and had some great starts down the stretch, Horne I guess equals Masteron, and Tabata has the tools and is projected to be an all star player. The Yankee offer shits on the Sox offer imo.

I'm friends with his daughter, she goes to my school. Anyway, I feel like in the end this trade isn't going to go down. I don't think the Yanks are going to part with Hughes.

Just watch, if the Sox get Santana, they won't give up Ellsbury, Pedroia or Lester. (Ok, that definitley won't happen, but I swear the Red Sox always give up shit in trades and get what they want.) I think Cano and Joba are untouchable, they really don't want to give up Hughes or Jackson, and everyone else is fair game.

You know, this Brett Favre love isn't really bothering me. This guy is backing it up. 17 completions in a row. 3 more TDs today.
