I was just about to ask the same thing. By the way, the heel tag team of DiBiase/Rhodes currently has more clean pinfalls in relatively the same amount of time as face champ C.M.Punk.
-
D.C. is terrible period... but it gets alot better about 45 mins north on I95.
-
Well... I wish I had as much faith in the WWE's handling of Punk as some of you all do. I still suspect that if Punk was 6'3 and 240+, he'd be getting pin's instead of DQ's. Not to mention the announce team wouldn't be pounding home that Batista keeps getting robbed of "sure victories" because of interference. I hope i'm wrong and you all are right.
-
I don't think he's being buried, but they made this mistake once with Mysterio... Why do it again when it wasn't successful the first time?
-
So why the huge reluctance to have Punk go over Batista?? Even with a fluke rollup or something? Is it the WWE? Batista himself? It really doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Punk's shown he can consistantly have good matches, he is way above average on the mic, and last but not least... he's the champ. I can appreciate the good matches he's had with Batista. Honestly, Batista should be thanking Punk for making him look better than he really is... but still. Just leaves me shaking my head.

Ok this is getting old already. They keep ruining great matches between these two with bullshit finishes. Hopefully this means Batista goes after Cena and we can get Punk an opponent who he will be allowed to beat clean... Disappointing.
-
Of course Punk can't beat the big man unless he gets chokeslammed by Kane first. That being said this is another outstanding effort by these two.
-
Wow, champ enters second... as it should be... and should of been at the PPV.
-
I dunno... He looks in pretty good shape to me.

How long do you think it will be until a double pedigree? hoping for a Triple Pedigree Next week on The Dirt Sheet: Can HHH fit 3 mens heads between his legs?? Tune in.

More good stuff from Jericho. If Punk is really to be a face champ, he would be the perfect opponent for him right now. Crowd wouldn't be torn like they are with Batista. Not to mention they could have some pretty bad ass matches together. Still curious to see the outcome of Punk/Batista/Kane regardless... Kelly get's an A for effort here...

Why? I figured Michelle would win. Although I wish the match would have gone on a little longer and have back and forth Submissions but whatever. As for the end of the HHH match, Did you really think Edge was going to win or there would be any other ending to that match? And I don't think this kills Edge's "Heat" at all. Plus it can finally get him out of the title picture like the JBL feud did with Cena. Smackdown needs a new top heel and I really hope they give MVP or someone else the ball vs HHH. The ending didn't bother me, the match in general just wasn't very good. Edge and HHH are talented guys who have both been in main event matches. They just didn't seem to have much chemistry. I was hoping for something more I supppose. Neidhart should have won. If you have the option to put a questionable title on someone who can bring it a little credibility, you do it. Nattie comes from a distinguished pedigree. I think in 3 or 4 years people will say "Michelle who???" People will know who Nattie Neidhart is.

I still think HBK/Jericho should be the RAW Main Event fued. It's easily the most compelling storyline, and the matches live up to the hype. Tonight's match sure as hell did. Punk's promo was money and the Batista/Punk match was just starting to get really good when Kane interfered. I wish it would have gone just 5 more minutes, that crowd would have been frothing at the mouth. I don't mind the setup to the triple threat match, Punk came out looking pretty damn tough. He's a future superstar and I think the WWE realizes it. I just hope they don't fuck up. The powerbomb after the match was somewhat unnecessary. Hardy/Shelton was good stuff. It was alot better than HHH/Edge, It had none of the build and no story behind it and it still managed to be better. I won't HHHate here, I think both guys are to blame, but all things considered... It didn't hold up well in comparison to HBK/Jericho and Batista/Punk. Cena/JBL was funny. It was so over the top that it was verging on ridiculous. Nice to see JBL actually win one. I feel so sorry for Tommy Dreamer. He's paid more dues than alot of the top guys and he get's thrown into these shit matches against guys who no one cares about. He deserves so much better Nattie Neidhart tapping out to Michelle McCool in a title match on a PPV is everything that is still wrong with the WWE in a nutshell. Just plain wrong. Speaking of that why are one of the most talented tag teams in the company constantly on the bad end of a midgets offense???
-
Yeah, god forbid he becomes something other than fodder for fat guys who can't move.
-
but it's not his fault.

Punk needs to win clean. period. After Batista has to come save him, then disrespects him in the middle of the ring, Punk can't win by some cheap countout, DQ, or roll-up. It's got to be decisive or people aren't gonna buy him as anything more than a guy who got lucky. If you are gonna take the plunge ( pardon the pun ) and make him Champ, then book him like a real Champ.
-
I hope they don't do to Punk what they did to Mysterio during his run...
-
Wow.... ouch. Compelling stuff.
-
ha.. that was pretty good.
