For me personally, I can't imagine why anyone would use a Mac in place of a windows based machine, even for basic needs. I'm not the biggest expert but everything I've ever heard is that Windows is just better as a basic general platform. The only thing I can come up with is that it really is just an image thing.

Little beside the point but if you find you need something fixed in your system, find a good online information resource for how to's, or consult your manual. Basic rule is that you can't plug anything in wrong because there's only slot/connection that something can go into for the most part. My recommendation is the same as Leena's, find a high quality (may cost a few pennies) and replace your existing one. It's an honest question. And yes, I might be a bit naive in what I hope for and think about. I suppose that comes with the territory of spending a lot of time thinking about the world and people and my personal hopes and fears. If i'm wrong, that's fine because I am willing to learn from mistakes. I just haven't seen anything in my life that shows me that I am. /blog I don't wish for isolation to the extent of having zero contact with other nations and other cultures(This post is me kind of role playing an American. But I'm Canadian so it's close enough in ideals and all that). To me that is insane and an opportunity for knowledge and growth that would be lost, much to our detriment. That said, us (The West) propping up other nations that are in dire trouble is a wasted exercise, unless they are a close ally and friend. This is doubly true when we do it to create a foothold in business ventures or leverage against other nations and cultures. It does nothing but stretch our resources and man power to the breaking point, when there surely are other ways to get what we NEED(not want) in order to survive and hopefully help our partners thrive in the mean time. If there is someone who launches an attack against us, of course there must be a responce. If it's done under false pretense as the current military situation in the middle east and Afghanistan show, it is again another form of sabotage that can be avoided. America was right to move to retaliate against the enemies that attacked them, there can be no doubt of that, but what is the purpose now? And frankly, the warnerd in me really wishes this whole thing was a little more efficient instead of fighting an impossible to win guerrila war. Nations and cultures fall and die, it's been this way since forever, and they should be allowed to do so naturally. Not allowing this almost seems to be criminal to me.
