Speaking of Toshiaki Kawada, he dropped the fall to D-Lo Brown in the most recent RWTL matches:

The meeting in question happened last week, by the way. It's not only WWE fans that don't realize that ECW is part of WWE but WWE talent doesn't even realize it either.

TNA Comments which don't warrant a thread
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to dubq's topic in TNA Wrestling
Most of what TNA has done in the last two months is straight from 1998. I wonder why. -
According to the latest F4W, the spot at Survivor Series with Shawn Michaels asking his team who Mike Knox was was based on something that actually happened during a creative meeting where Shawn really did ask "Who's Mike Knox?"

At this stage of the game, New Japan most likely arranged it by calling Muto and begging for help with help for drawing a respectable crowd to the Dome. If you mean what happened to Kawada when everyone left to form NOAH, he stayed with All Japan, had a couple of Triple Crown reigns, wound up droping the belts to Kojima and has since gone freelance. He's currently back in All Japan teaming with Muto in the RWTL.

Stipulations that were respected
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to 10 Pounds's topic in General Wrestling
He wrestled as part of The Varsity Club at Sarrcade in 1999. But it was long enough that, for wrestling, he adhered to the stipulation. -
I think we're meant to ignore that because it was Joe vs Angle in a '*****' match.

Philly is a notoriously 'smart' crowd. They'd get that joke more than any other area. P.S. They were in Pittsburgh for RAW. The point remains That joke would not have gotten the reaction it did in just about any other place. -
The rating was a 0.9, which is pretty good considering it was Thanksgiving.

For Ken to get over in the future, they have to make as little mention as possible of him being in the Spirit Squad or even ignore it entirely. Reminding people of it would make no sense. Philly is a notoriously 'smart' crowd. They'd get that joke more than any other area. -
Wrestler who's had the most gimmicks/names?

Impact ratings often come out the next day. Even if there was a delay because of the holidays, they would usually be out by now at least.

Kenny would be dead if they brought him back right away. He needs to stay gone for a long time so the Spirit Squad smell can die away. It's going to be hard enough to for any of the Squad to taken seriously, but bringing them back when it's still fresh in people's minds just makes it even more likely they'll flop in whatever role they get given. -
WON News + Notes, 27th November
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to The Decemberists's topic in TNA Wrestling
The problem is that Tenay and West are two color commentators, and while they can be good ones, they need an actual announcer to steer things and to set up the major points and and storylines that Tenay and West can then explain. At this point, I'd even consider bringing in Tony Schiavone for the announcer spot. -
If the ratings are delayed, then it's usually because they're bad. I still haven't seen anyone report what the ratings were for the November 9th Impact.

he embodies the minor league feel to the show Of all the things that make TNA look minor league, Jeremy Borash is way down on the list. -

A couple of notes not mentioned here. At the Impact tapings when they did an angle with Sting calling Abyss "Chris", his real name, Abyss had questioned his friends about it as he didn't think it was a good idea, but was told it wouldn't matter as it was just happening once. Also, Christopher Daniels was going to call Rhino "Terry", again his real name, but Rhino complained about it enough that D'Amore went to the booking team and got that line taken out. -

I forgot to add making Kennedy look weak. The least they could have done was let him be the one to nail Undertaker with the chairshot. Edge and Orton didn't have to get beaten clean. It was the middle of the card. so they could have easily walked out and got counted out. It's not like the show was ending on a sour note. -
The Hell? It's from a Boston Garden show the day after DiBiase 'purchased' the WWF Title from Andre the Giant. DiBiase was announced as WWF Champion.

I think WWE are trying to beat TNA at seeing who can book the worst. I know the Squad are jokes, but having Flair beat three of them in a row and clean just makes it that much harder to salvage them when the gimmick gets kiboshed. Orton and Edge had whatever heat they've got squashed. At least if they had walked out they'd have saved some of their heat. As it is, they've ended all possibility of them being taken seriously as foes for DX. That's why DX matches get disappointing heat. Nobody cares because nobody really believes they'll lose. And even if they do lose, it's always a fluke and DX get their heat back right away. If Umaga was getting protected by losing via DQ, couldn't he have at least laid everyone out? Batista getting the World Title was the right ending and that last minute change that the title can be lost on a DQ had to be a shot at TNA. I can only surmise the finish was done so they can extend the program between Batista and Booker, otherwise there was no reason not to have Batista win clean.
