Ongoing Impact spoilers for this Thursday

*Alex Shelley defeated Cute Kip and Consequences Creed in a Turkey Bowl match. *TNA X-Division champ Sheik Abdulah Bashir defeated Matt Morgan and Jimmy Rave in a Turkey Bowl match. *The TNA Originals led by Rhino come to the ring. Rhino says he has taken the liberty to name the group the TNA Frontline. He talks about what it means and talks about ECW. He says that frankly, "ECW is the sh**s now" and that just like he believed in the original ECW, he believes in TNA. He says to prove that he will rid TNA of Kurt Angle at Final Resolution. He tells Samoa Joe and AJ Styles they will take care of the rest at the PPV, but, with no disrespect to the other members of the Frontline, they aren't experienced enough. He says tonight they need to recruit more members. The Main Event Mafia comes out and Angle tells Rhino to think about what he's doing. Rhino tells Angle to kiss his a** because now he's going to get the war he wanted. *Rhino defeated Hernandez and Sonjay Dutt in a Turkey Bowl match. The Turkey Bowl final is Rhino vs. Bashir vs. Shelley. *Rhino, Samoa Joe and AJ Styles enter Team 3D's locker room. They ask 3D to join the Frontline. 3D asks what's in it for them. Joe tells them nothing but they should do what's right. Devon and Joe have words and Brother Ray tells Devon that's exactly the lack of respect that the Mafia is talking about. *Lauren asks 3D about being asked to join the Frontline. As Ray begins to talk, Scott Steiner arrives and tells them the Mafia has an offer they can't refuse and they go with him. *Kurt Angle is talking to Team 3D in his locker room, reminding them how the Motor City Machineguns used to disrespect them. He gives them two suits and tells them to put them on when they make their decision. *Christy Hemme defeated Raisha Saied to earn a TNA Knockouts championship match at the Final Resolution PPV. Rhaka Khan and Awesome Kong try to attack Hemme but she escapes. *Rhino pinned Alex Shelley to win the Turkey Bowl and $25,000. Mick Foley came out to congratulate Rhino and awarded him the check. Foley tells Shelley to put on the turnkey suit and Shelley teases walking out. Foley tells him if he does, he'll be walking out on a job. He tells Shelley he is good but he doesn't need him. Shelley is hesitant but finally puts it on. Foley makes some jokes at his expense. Shelley says the only pro out of this is the picture he'll get to put on his Myspace and gives Foley the finger. Foley hits Shelley with the double arm DDT. *Rhino, Samoa Joe and AJ Styles come out looking for Team 3D's decision. 3D come out wearing the suits Kurt Angle gave them. Brother Ray tells the Frontline that both sides are right but Kurt Angle said something that hit a nerve. Ray says that it's the future. He says Team 3D wants to be remembered like all the other great teams like The Road Warriors, The Steiners, and even Harlem Heat. He asks if they want to be remembered for what they did in the original ECW or if they want to be part of the greatest collection of champions, complete as the Magnificent Seven. Ray said that if being part of the Frontline is wrong, then 3D doesn't want to be right. They attack the Mafia and lay them out. They get a table but Sting saves Kurt Angle before they can nail him with the 3D.

    WWE General Discussion-November 2008

Edge/Hardy doesn't qualify as a potential direction? It might, but he was talking about a specific backstage deal, and he referenced the time a few years ago where Goldberg and Lesnar crossed paths at Survivor Series as a foreshadowing of their Wrestlemania encounter.

    WWE General Discussion-November 2008

Meltzer made the point in the post-SS Observer show, that there was no tease of a possible Wrestlemania direction on the PPV. Often, if WWE have a solid idea of where they're going for Wrestlemania, they do some kind of tease in that direction at Survivor Series to start the slow build, but there was nothing done.

Ring of Honor Weekend (Dayton and Chicago-PPV)

Even before McGuinness signed a contract with ROH, I never heard any talk of WWE being interested in him at all. Not even for jobber duty in a dark match. As he is right now, Nigel would, if given the chance, be a great midcard wrestler in WWE, and possibly even rise higher with the right feud. But if he ever did sign with WWE, he'd be sent to FCW to learn how to work, and the Nigel that could go places would be replaced with a Nigel that does the same thing as just about every other wrestler in WWE and would be relegated to putting over the latest project that creative are high on.

    WWE General Discussion-November 2008

If by 'rumored' you mean a random person asking about the aforementioned match and Meltzer saying it could happen, etc, then that's accurate. Except for the Team WWE vs. Team NFL thing, which I haven't heard anyone bring up.

Perhaps we now know the Smackdown main event at Wrestlemania?

Now that is how you book a clusterfuck finish. Great stuff.

    Or not. Again.

but now that it is a one on one match, wouldn't he dq the match...if that's the case, I'm all for it! Maybe Jeff runs in to win the title, but Vickie strips him of the belt on Smackdown because he wasn't a legal participant in the match. This leads to an Elimination Chamber match for the vacant WWE title next month at Armageddon, where Triple H wins the belt for the 13th(?) time, possibly by pinning Hardy. Hardy wins the Rumble, challenges Triple H, and finally wins the big one for good at Wrestlemania.

That has to be why they're having the match they are. At least, you'd think they're not intentionally putting on a bad match for no reason.

And I do believe that was a "TNA" chant.

I'm guessing the main event is getting the benefit of shortcuts, otherwise there is not excuse for this match not to have them. Their personalities were over.

Didn't take long for the "boring" chants to start.

Or not. I guess it might be a foreshadowing of a heel turn.

Probably, but I expect Orton take a walk and get counted out.

My initial thought when the second casket came out is that this was the distraction spot for getting Umaga in the original casket to show up as a surprise after it had initially been shown to be empty.

    The Old School questions thread

I'm sure WWF would have gladly had a Hogan vs. Piper rematch, but Piper didn't do jobs and they weren't about to have such a crucial event end with a non-finish. Ritual humiliation.
  21. It's equally hilarious seeing who can act the most indifferent towards the angle.

Yes, and Trigg has recently said he's returning soon.

    WWE Survivor Series - November 23, 2008

Why not? I say they really really should. There's such a big lack of credible main event heels. And did Shawn jobbing clean to Jericho hurt him? Did Batista jobbing relatively clean hurt him? Nope. Do their fans care less about them in the slightest because of those losses? Were either of those guys the top babyface in the company who was making his triumphant return from injury? If WWE was booking for athletic credibility, that would be finish to have. But this is WWE, which books for entertainment and over-the-top stories. I like the finish speculated on at the Observer site, with Batista interfering to attack Jericho and accidentally costing Cena the title. You avoid yet another title change, give a reason for Batista to be added to the title picture, and avoid Cena doing a clean job, which I think he's done far too many off this year. I can see Umaga costing Undertaker the match against Big Show, but at the same time, this isn't TNA where you see the same finish multiple times on the same show, and in the main event you've might already have an outside interference finish. With the Smackdown title match, Edge is there so he could be involved in some way, maybe even being added to the match. I think it more likely they tease Hardy not being there but he shows up, maybe even part way into the match, but Edge shows up and costs Hardy the win. I like all of those finishes, but they're very similar so I don't expect to see all of them actually happen.
