OAO WWE Wellness Policy Thread
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to Open the Muggy Gate's topic in The WWE Folder
Of all the people taken off the roster for kidney problems, one or two might have Hep C, but the chances of them all having it are very remote. It's far more likely it's a steroid related issue, especially in the case of Lashley. -

OAO ECW on Sci-Fi Thread for 7/25 (Week 7)
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
I'd say that Heyman influences the things that Vince doesn't think are worth putting effort into. That said, the ECW show that had the RVD vs. Angle main event was all Vince. He was hands-on on every segment on that show. -
Flair had no creative control at that time. Dusty Rhodes was the main booker at the time. It was supposed to be Tully Blanchard as the fourth Horseman but the deal fell apart over money issues. Roma was a late sub, and I guess he was the best they felt they could on such short notice.

The best part of the whole show was Nick Patrick's ridiculous bump in the main event. The guy barely gets grazed by Rey, and he's doing cartwheels across the ring and handstands along the floor. -
Why would you put me through something like that?

TNA News and Notes: WON 7/24/06
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in TNA Wrestling
Dave will never remove his tongue from Flair's ass/ Except the match with Show was shockingly good, and I'd be willing to bet that it was the highest rated segment of the show. -
From the latest WO.com update: --Super Crazy was originally booked to face Gregory Helms yesterday as most expected. Crazy has also been taken off the active roster due to health reasons stemming from liver issues. Kid Kash is expected to be suspended after tomorrow's tapings. --Fit Finlay will be turning face due to the numbers game with so many people out of action. This is not the end of it. --Kristal Marshall was hospitalized after the bra & panties match last night but we didn't get word as to the nature of the injury --Mr. Kennedy did not blade last night. If you didn't see the show, he was drenched in blood by the end of the match after Batista rammed his head into the corner of the ring steps and I believe there was a second cut after he went into the post right before the finish.
-
I'd put Nick Patrick's bump last night in the main event in a similar category. He got grazed in the shoulder by Rey and practically did cartwheels across the ring, dragged himself to the floor and then did a handstands along the ground before falling flat on his face and laying there supposedly unconscious.

Brock Lesnar stripped of IWGP Title
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to Cuban Linx's topic in General Wrestling
What's the story behind this, if anyone cares to explain? Thanks in advance. Fujita was still doing MMA and the best finish they could get him, and his people, to agree to was Fujita getting Sasaki in a sleeper and falling on his back, essentially pinning himself. -
There were no official tags, but they said it was like Lucha rules which basically means they guy has to leave the ring before one of his partners can come in. If the heels keep a babyface from leaving the ring, to allow a partner in, it's as good as preventing the tag. The crowd were incredible too. I know they get knocked by the misinformed, but they were great here. They had some familiarity with CIMA and possibly knew Dragon Kid but they didn't know anything about the rest of the wrestlers, but by the 15-minute mark they were going insane and were even chanting "please don't stop" as the wrestlers were building to the finish. You cannot buy passion like that.

I watched Supercard of Honor from ROH, and it really is a must-see show. The overall card just blows away anything WWE or TNA have done this year. From top to bottom you've got great angles and great matches. The two most talked about matches are the Dragon's Gate trios match and Bryan Danielson vs. Roderick Strong. Dave Meltzer gave the DG match ***** and it more than deserves it. It starts off slow and builds to a tremendous climax with one incredible spot after the other. The match has timing, teamwork and, and I know some people will refuse to accept this, great psychology. This is one match you really have to see. Danielson/Strong goes 56 minutes and while not quite as good as the DG match it's still really great. It's such a change from the mainstream to watch two guys go out there and just wrestle.
-
Why? Is it really that hard to believe?
-
Two titbits from Da Meltz's appearance on F4 Daily a few days ago: Ric Flair taped what was called a great comeback promo against Mick Foley on 7/10 to air the next week, but it got nixed because Brian Gewirtz hated it due to Flair talking about wrestling history and Gewirtz had no idea what he was talking about. Flair only does short promo’s, when he does them at all, because while the writers think he’s a great performer they don’t think he can talk. When Johnny Nitro interrupted him on Raw, the idea was for Nitro to carry the mic work.

Brock Lesnar stripped of IWGP Title
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to Cuban Linx's topic in General Wrestling
On his recent F4 Daily appearance, DM said there really was a visa problem, but that isn't what caused the break up. Whatever it is, people aren't talking about it, so it sounds big. -

Sounds like the infamous Kennel from Hell match. And we all know how that one turned out. -
So was he really nuts and had to be restrained by five guards or just percieved to be nuts? I think the five guards deal was myth. But he wasn't really nuts at all. It was something he went along with because the rep made people leave him alone.
-
Jones did an interview where he said he had the rep and he just went along with it so he'd have an easier time in prison. He figured if people thought he really was that nuts they'd leave him alone.

I think it's easier legally to just to take them off the PPV. -

Dusty's run in WWF had nothing to do with Vince not liking him. It was Vince trying to humiliate Dusty purely for running the competition. It wasn't personal.

If you're talking prestige on a worldwide basis, then I guess the WWE Title is the most important title to casual wrestling fans. If you're talking from a booking perspective, then the ROH Title is the only one that gets booked like the old NWA World Title was, in that it does get defended in different countries against wrestlers from different promotions. Prestige aside, it's the only title that gets handled like a world title should be.

If they are being punished for something then taking them off the PPV also means taking away their PPV payoff. -
